UV wrapping while modeling is the epitome of dream workflow.
I definitely agree! Save a lot of time creating useless geometries! Excellent tutorial!
Ive started to enjoy watching people make insane spaceships, far beyond my own ability.
You can do it! Start small and keep trying!!!
Very informative!
For reference, the spherical tanks most likely contain deuterium and tritium for fuel for the nuclear reactor/engines, and the larger sets of solar panels are actually heat radiators.
I thought they might contain Monopropellant, but I didn't know they actually had nuclear fusion in that movie👍
that texture tip is really gold
dammit it never cross my mind
tip for 12:51 when you're trying to line up the UVs on top of each other, line them up roughly as you did then select the top vertices and scale, Y, 0 and they will line up. Repeat for the bottom and for the sides just do X instead of Y. Now they are all perfectly in line
In some cases I did exactly that. But most of the time it wasn’t really important, that they line up perfectly. But thanks anyway 👍🏻
This is what I called an impressive management of the uv mapping.
Such a superbe tutorial, your spaceship is so full of details, it looks amazing!! And your workflow is very interesting, thanks for sharing ;)
This guy created masterpiece which is beyond my imagination
Sehr gute Arbeit. Ich dachte immer, dass man seamless textures nutzen sollte, aber es gibt nur wenige, die solche Details haben.
Awesome spaceship! Also really great technique with the textures.
Ist sehr krass geworden, vorallem stark, dass du das einfach aus ner navy ship texture gemodelt hast
The X games use a similar approach to applying textures to stations ans ships. Its basically using several large sheets with random greeble-detail and uv mapping a section of it for each face.
Just starting with blender. Been at it for a few days. This was really eye opening for me.
I love your Workflow mate and it always looking so awesome 😍
This is great! I'd love to see your render settings to see how you give that final look!
Most of the look comes from compositing. In one of my later videos I go I to more detail
that looks terrific
wow dude. I think you did a fantastic job. And so quickly.
Great tutorial! The most difficult part was actually to find the correct image to use as texture lmao
Super impressive! Your work is a huge inspiration and a massive help. Thank you!
This is amazing work. Learning a lot by watching and listening to your workflows.... BTW. " trapezoidal..." 🤣.
The models looks truly fantastic! I can't help but wonder how long it took to create, and how many years experience you've had, to know what fits where and how to acheive the look you want for your finished model?
Looks awesome as always!
Can you make a video on how shade and adding lighting to space scene?
dayyaammmm!! Looks fab!
Love it, very clean!
Great spaceship but rather than nasa punk design on of the most realistic sci fi spaceships is actually the venture star from Avatar
I love this videos! Please make more more moreeeee
i love scifi windows haha
Great work and very informative. Have you ever thought about doing a video on how you did the lighting on your render. Cant seem to replicate it lol
it is basically just 1 sun lamp. The planet does a lot too.
Maybe, I will do a video about that at some point.
What I found important is to play with the shadows. You would think, that most of the spaceship should be lit, but I found, that having much more shadows/darker parts give a more cinematic feeling
Awesome - love it
In your promo for your gumroad, I saw the Tantive IV. Do you have a video where you show/explain how to do panels like this?
You are awesome.
4:15 XDDD nice man, thank you for this tutor❤
Love your content bro
where did you get the Textures from? is there a specific Website or term for these type of images to search online?
your work looks extremely realistic and i would like to follow your approach for texturing :)
bro, can u do the same video but slower for the beginners ?
Thank you for your tutorial. Where can I find military ship textures?
What sort of black magic is he using at 0:27
An array modifier
@@mlt-studios how do you get it to do a circle like that tho?
i need a step-by-step.
everything i try to do when texture painting my ship doesn't work.
when i try to set the scale to 1, it gets messed up
when i try to texture paint it, only one of the pieces have the base texture. the other 2 are still purple. yes, i did merge all 3 shapes.
danke
Where do you find the images you use for your texturing method/what key search words do you use? I love the way it's done!
I searched on unsplash for battleship
Thank you, I'm just now getting into texturing, and your video was a great help, your narration and editing were great.
the german accent is strong
Where are the radiators
0:44 those are fuel tanks for cryogenic fuels like hydrogen.
Using the ship texture like that is a really cool technique. How would you translate this workflow for a game asset? I assume you cant just use the ship texture without running into legal issues. Is there maybe some kind of way to bake out only the parts of the texture you need to a separate texture?
The image was taken from unsplash, so license wise everything should be fine.
What you can do in the end ist to create a second uv map, which this time is clean, without any overlaps and the same texel density etc.
Then you can bake it to that.
Any good tutorial recommendations to help achieve a similar final result for post processing/compositing for the lens flairs/lens dirt?
Check out my last video. There I went a bit into how I edit my images afterwards.
is that called a trim sheet? im trying to make my own spaceship with my own textures however i dont know if its a trim sheet or not.
It is just an image of a navy ship I found online
@@mlt-studios but the way you use it, im wondering if that is how you use a trim sheet also because there are no tutorials on how to use a trim sheet
@@1mb803 To be honest, I had to Google what a trim sheet is.
@@mlt-studios alright then, amazing video nonetheless
@@mlt-studios I've been trying since you posted this 10 months ago to either find this image or something similar... no joy.
Can you share the Texture?
can you share the project files please
Aww man did you seriously put a solar panel texture on the radiators ( /\/\/\/\/\/ This thing) it’s meant to radiate heat away and cool down the space ship the ones the ISS has are white
Ware did you find the image texture?
Unsplash. Just search for battleship
Where are you From ?
Based on your name, I think you can guess 😁
@@mlt-studios Hmm, when I Heat the Accent I think Germany
@@himmel2596 that is correct ☺️
