    Riku is the commander I like most and have been playing it since 2012. I have two list that I carry with my in all games: token fun version and combo version, the later focused in a more competitive scenario. It has a win percentage higher than 60%, as fortunately nobody knows riku anymore, so they can lose at instant speed no possible interaction combos.

      I used to include palinchron and more combos but I try to stay away from 2 card combos with the commander now. Nothing wrong with them just not the level my playgroup plays at :)

      Could I get that decklist? I am new to magic, and am curious as to what a more competitive Riku deck would look like.

      I don't have the decklist uploaded anywhere sadly but if you go to EDHrec and go to Riku's page you should be able to find a list of combos used with him@@fumundacheese8256

      Also I just want to preface this since you are new to magic that commander is an inherently casual format. If you want to see what competitive decks look like then you should look for cEDH content. EDH is the old name for commander and C stands for competitive. CEDH is basically an entire different format from casual commander. Riku is by no means a powerful commander in cEDH and wouldn't be considered viable in a competitive meta. If you want to find powerful casual decks "high power" or "optimized" are going to be more accurate keywords to find what you are looking for. Using the word "competitive" when searching for decklists online is going to get you mostly cEDH results. @fumundacheese8256

    Priest of Titania has a nice self-synergy the more copies of it you have :)

      Definitely true but I want my 2 mana ramp to be good before my commander comes down too and I don't think I run enough elves for priest to be good enough on turn 2.

      Definitely late to the party, but harabaz druid and sanctum weaver also do the exact same thing for enchantments and Allies! I'm trying to build riku (been trying for like a year now, but still not really happy with any particular build), and i'm definitely looking for this kind of mana dork as high cmc ramp options

    What do you think of some of the new cards that were leaked? Oko the Ringleader looks perfect for this deck.

    • @OnlyLands-MTG
      @OnlyLands-MTG  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I dont think I will include the new Oko. Turning into a creature doesn't count as entering the battlefield again so he doesn't have good synergy with ETBs which is the main strategy with this list. We also do not commit crimes consistently enough to make his +1 card advantage. His -1 is decent but there are better more efficient token makers for 4 mana. His ult is great for sure but generally a bad idea to judge a planeswalker by their ult. Even though his ult is only -5 I don't think we can protect him consistently enough. Also planeswalkers are generally pretty bad in commander.

    So panharmonicon works with the commander so does it work with both abilities of riku or just the creature part? A friend of mine gave me riku so im still learning how to build a deck around im trying to see what works or doesnt work

    • @OnlyLands-MTG
      @OnlyLands-MTG  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just the creature part. Panharmonicon doubles triggered abilities that trigger when a creature enters the battlefield. The spell part of the ability triggers when you cast a spell so panharmonicon will have no effect. This list heavily focuses on the creature ability though and most of the creatures also have abilities that trigger when they eat so it can end up giving 6x value if you can pay for rikus ability twice because you will get 2 token copies and each of the creatures ETB abilities will trigger twice so 2×3=6

    I always think that the etb/token strategy is the best for riku. Most videos are spellcopies.

      Yeah I agree I have always built him as a creature etb value/clones deck and it has always felt amazing, splashy, and fun!!

    Hello! I recently just put together this deck and have been having a ton of fun! Quick question: what card do you recommend replacing with Doppelgang? They all just seem so important and I am having a hard time deciding. Also, what do you think of the card Storm of Saruman in this deck? Thanks!

    • @OnlyLands-MTG
      @OnlyLands-MTG  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      honestly doppelgang may replace rite of replication at this point. Storm of Saruman seems strong but idk if this deck can afford a 6 mana do nothing until next turn. If your playgroup is slow enough go for it seems very strong. I'm glad you are having fun with the list :)
