Thank you Alexia and Nick for your kind words and your great reaction, actually what I had hoped for, knowing you for such a long time.
What a great way for me to start the weekend on a Saturday morning ... but I often start my trainride to work with exactly this song ... or it has to be In Memory of Elisabeth Reed, those 2 songs put you guaranteed into a good mood and if I start with Kraan, it's always followed by other songs of this album : to the ones who don't know yet I recommend Sarah's Ritt durch den Schwarzwald (also opener of their debut album), Holiday am Marterhorn und Nam, Nam - a 15 minute piece with a great bass solo, which is in my Top 3 with Yes and Renaissance.
I looked up the meaning of the word Kraan, normally there is Kran in german, which is Crane in english, but it says the name comes from a song, that Helmut Hattler - the bassplayer - once heard on radio Bagdad 😆
I'm honestly surprised by the knowledge of Kraan of so many subscribers and even more by only positive comments ... thank you 👍
And the "topping of the cake" was your snake dance 🤘

The band is called Kraan and the track is Arabia. I wouldn't normally draw attention to a typo, but if you Google 'krann' you'll find yourself in a dead end. This is pretty cool, reminded me of Ozric Tentacles' Jurassic Shift.

Wow! Great request by Rudi! I hoped for months that you will do some music of Kraan, in my opinion one of the best german bands of the 1970s. I even like "Nam Nam" and "Holiday am Marterhorn" more than this one. The bass player, Hellmut Hattler, is a living legend. Best regards from Germany

Great band, and a natural for this channel since I liken their more accessible and jazzy bits to Steely Dan. Yeah, the name is curious, but that was par for the course for German bands back there. Fruup, Kraan, Amon Duul... You get the idea. Anyways, don't stop here. Kraan put out a ton of great music over the years (my fave stuff is with the late great Ingo Bischof on keys.)

Hi Guys, not heard of Krann, but I'm liking it. [ Still listening ] Lots of changes that segue very nicely into each other. It's like opening a "Pass the Parcel" with surprises along the way. The first half Robert Plant would love. This is turning into Santana and I'm loving this. Great bass lines. It's a patchwork quilt of music that really works well. Nice one ! Byeee Jim X

@@NicknLex I could be wrong but we always called them Kron Nick. Been a fan for 45 years. I know you’re German but I was only trying to help. I did wonder why it was spelled differently in the header as Krann. But I will delete my post asap. My perpetual mission is to inform you to the best of my ability what I know from my experiences. I don’t pronounce John McLaughlin correctly I just found out but after saying it the same way for 50 years it’s hard to change it. John McLocklin just doesn’t work for me. Nor will Kran. @@NicknLex I revised it. Fun Fact: The Enid:Punch and Judy Man is on Spotify and I just grinned ear to ear listening to it because it’s so different than anything else that was released in 1979. As nearly every band was heading away from Prog and preparing for the New Wave of 1980 The Enid were creating symphonic masterpieces without a symphony. Just the usual keyboards, bass, drums, guitars and they achieved the impossible. I have a special place in my heart for it because it was the first time I heard them buying the latest lp and my friends had their first from 3 years earlier but didn’t know they continued because of lack of publicity. When they heard what I bought their jaws were on the floor. Please do yourselves a favor and listen to this one tune. I can’t afford a $50 coffee because I live on a fixed income but I have been hoping someone would recommend this tune.

Interesting and confusing ... never called my mind the 3rd ear - why not ? But I need to know what's "Rumi" ? And your "oud" in the end is a spelling mistake or did you talk about the african instrument, which wasn't in here, but you can hear it on several records of Klaus Doldinger's Passport. I even saw that live, when in 2017 Klaus Doldinger had invited 2 morrocan friends to play at his concert. And in case you are interested in oud-music you should check out Anouar Brahem's Blue Maqams album. Another exotic one on my endless list for Nicknlex requests
