When she was a baby it was like hell but now she is trained. But alligators do not belong in captivity and do not get one trust me. I might love mine but she is a pain and pretty big

Today's dogs are just domesticated canines related to wolves, coyotes, and other canines that haven't fully been taken on as pets. And, a pet alligator will attack a human just like a pet dog will attack a human. My half-sister was attacked by a casual pet dog. It ran across the street just to attack her. If you get attacked by a gator, you most likely have to have done something to it to deserve to be attacked. Very rarely do I hear of a gator attacking someone for no reason. They're quite calm creatures. And like dogs, the wild ones are the gators you don't want to befriend from up close. If you raise an alligator in a loving environment where it knows it won't be harmed, it won't have any hostile behavior. If you want a pet alligator, raise a hatchling with all the love and care you would give to any other pet. The only reason wild alligators are aggressive is because they live in such a hostile environment. All species are that way, including humans. Look at people who grew up in communities with high crime rates where their lives were often risked doing everyday things like walking to school. But be wise, don't just take a mother's hatchlings. If you find a nest of baby gators, odds are their mother is around. There are plenty of stores that sell very young alligators. Raising an alligator is not an easy task, but it is worthwhile. So please, if you want to have an alligator, educate yourself. Talk to people who have experience raising alligators. They can give you tips on how to raise yours to be gentle with everyone. If you educate yourself and take proper care of your reptilian companion, it will work out for you.
My co-workers often tell me, "Gator, don't be a croc." lol But yes, crocodiles are naturally aggressive. Respect crocodiles from a safe distance. For the very rare cases where people actually have pet or docile crocodiles, still be cautious about being friendly with it. I think this rule applies to every animal whether it is wild or domesticated: Make sure it is comfortable with you.
Dogs have been bred over thousands of years to be friendly towards people (except for some breeds that have been intentionally bred to be aggressive). I’m no expert but I would imagine you’d have a much higher likelihood of getting attacked by a pet wolf than a pet dog
I love Louisiana where people know that alligators aren't as bad as they say (but don't ignore what he says they are dangerous) I held a 2 1/2 foot baby when I was 4
Thank you for putting this video on TH-cam. I am shocked by the number of people who stupidly buy these animals as pets. It's not safe or fair for these large animals to be confined when they should be living in the wild.
So by your logic, nothing big or aggressive can be kept as a pet? I can't keep piranhas? I can't keep iguanas? I can't keep snakes? How far are you willing to take this
In the town nearby they have this massive alligator in a big glass tank where half is in the water. I go there for supplies and animals and sometimes they demonstrate feeding. Let me tell you, you do not want to be in that cage when it's eating...
They actually can survive freezing temperatures. In North Carolina they do. They stick their snouts out of the water let it freeze over, and go back to normal when the ice melts. Crocs would die though.
I went to Florida once, i go every year cuz i have a villa there on Knottingham drive in Orlando. There is a little pond near there which is drained now but i cant remember and there was an Alligator in the pond and he chased me and my friend eddie out of the lake and on to Funie Steed. Is it odd my dwarf caiman is only 6 inches long but he has never opened his mouth when you handle him but if u make him mad he will bite and my 3 ft one bit me a lot since he was a baby and never kept his mouth shut as I handled him im worried because hes so nice
You would need a pretty big pipe for your toilet to make a fully grown or even sub adult aligator fit in it, and also like he said its too cold as well. So nobody in New york or anywhere should worry about it as long as you dont have your house on top of a river and a huge toilet.
The issue is when you find a hatching that will die otherwise. Not buy them but knowing that they WILL die as a baby if you don't do something. Now we face the issue that even upon release they will be too "friendly" to humans. At times there is no "easy answer" but a gator is a gator. And the older it gets the more it behaves like an adult gator.
What is the lizard in the viv in the background in every video with Bob? It's going utterly crazy and I can never make out exactly what it is. Thought it was some kind of monitor but the back legs look too long. Always makes me laugh.
I want to do my homework, and see if I can even afford one. Even having two tortoises is tough, as in space and habitat. Will probably just make a turtle pond if I ever do.
You couldnt hold it still because you werent holding it properly with the tail under your arm. Whats the difference of a gator getting tired of being handled then a cat? I feel a cat do do much more serious damage and faster if they wanted too

It's funny, because, I've been to Jungle Bob's reptile shop before and he had two American alligators in a (roughly) 4x2 enclosure, one of which was over 36" long, the other pushing 12". Yeah, fish don't stay to the size of their habitats either. If this were true, wild fish would also be hundreds of times larger then their captive counterparts.
There are no crocodiles that small. The smallest is the dwarf caiman which still reaches 1m in length and like any other crocodile does not make a good pet! That alligator is a baby and will grow up to be much much bigger.
0:49 WRONG, a fish can out grow the tank if its to small, that or they will have horrible organ problems. For example, your 2 inch oscar can get up to 10 inches in a small 20 gallon tank if kept in there that long.
