Have to disagree with Gen Chapman here. 1. The argument of "we will return the Russian land, if Russia return our land" is a very powerful argument. This argument has many potential uses. Including to ensure support by the Western allies until Ukrainians are satisfied in their negotiation with the Russians. 2. The Ukrainians will need to man their border with Russia, no matter what happens. It does not matter whether it is the prior international border or the new border created in the Kursk oblast using natural barriers such as rivers. If they can defend the old borders, then they should be able to defend the new border. (With provision that they have sufficient time to build defences but they can take advantages of the trenches already built by the Russians.)

And Russia could look at the success rate of other Uke offensives, and just sit tight, 'til it runs out of steam and Western supplies.
