Daniel Day-Lewis BAFTA Acceptance Speech - Eastwood's a Chair

Daniel Day-Lewis received the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film, presented to him by his Lincoln director Steven Spielberg, and during his acceptance speech he Eastwood'ed a chair. Acknowledging Eastwood's RNC appearance, Day-Lewis talked to the empty chair as though President Obama was seated there.

A few years ago I went to a bar in an upstate NY village where we used to play trivia. I got there before my teammates and right after I sat down at a table, the owner, who we were all friendly with, told me "Daniel Day-Lewis was sitting in that same spot about 20 mins ago." I gave him the standard incredulous/"Yeah, right" look & one of his employees said he was telling the truth.
I nearly shouted "DO NOT tell me that kind of thing! My favorite actor was just here & I missed him by 20 mins???" We all had a great laugh over it but I regret not leaving about a half hour earlier (it always took me at least 45 mins to drive there). #MissedOps
