"Filipino women...don't believe in the power of divorce. I guess through religion." As a Filipina living in the Philippines, It's literally not legal to get divorced here. And I hate when people use that as an excuse to cheat. Married couples can separate if they don't want to be in a relationship. Cheating is still cheating.
@@Platinum907 The catholic church has a very strong influence on the Philippines(might be wrong). So getting divorced is probably near to impossible bc of that. I'm catholic and think that prohibiting divorce all together is just awful.
Right?! At the end of the day, you can treat the “marriage” like a piece of paper and totally ignore it. But if you start doing that without the knowledge of the other half of the marriage, then that’s CHEATING.
I’m married to a Filipina (no, she’s not my Filipina wife, but my wife who happens to be Filipina). I might add for others that while divorce is illegal, so is adultery. You can bring your spouse up on adultery charges if you choose to. Annulments are available, but they do take a long time and are expensive so some women end up as single mothers as their husbands will simply abandon them. It’s a religious society with traditional family values so naturally many women will want to find a husband who wants a partner for life. My wife and I aren’t against divorce as a concept, there’s no reason two people should stay together if they hate each other, but we feel marriage is ideally for life, so selecting a partner is extremely important. They should have the same values and beliefs.
Wait! I have a question. I’m not religious by any means. (If I have to have a title I guess I’m Atheist?) So if I moved to the Philippines, marry a Filipino, years later he turns out to be abusive and I’m not happy with him, I can’t divorce him? What am I supposed to do just deal with it? Yes, I can separate but what if I want to marry someone else later down the road?
Okay, hear me out - she's a "filipino wife" because long time ago, he "bought" her as some form of a mail order bride. He visited her but never moved, he just sends her money. That's why his daughter "doesn't have a heart" to move to the US. Because he's basically a stranger and she's not welcome to.
I feel so sorry for the wife and the daughter to have a "husband" so disgusting. A story like this hits a little too close to home. My birth father left my mom when she was dying of a brain tumor for another woman. I was only a baby at the time, and he had nothing to do with me either. Meanwhile my aunt stepped in and took over his role, and the stories I heard from her broke my heart. With the brain tumor she couldn't remember why he wasn't there, and kept hoping he would come see her. I have zero sympathy or feel anything for men like this. Even calling him, or this guy a man is giving them too much credit. They're are absolute wonderful men out there, and I feel sadness for anyone who has to deal with a low life human being like this guy.
So, on her death bed, she discovered the Power Of Divorce and decided that your top priority needed be find a new wife. Then after the divorce he had the nerve to tell her his friend will take care of her. She was so humiliated. She is doing great now. I wonder if he harps on the fact that she was his Filipino wife because he sees her as some sort of exotic, trophy wife that makes him more appealing because of how people can fetishize Asian women.
That’s exactly what I was thinking…He’s probably used to saying it that way because he’s always referred to her that way, to everyone he’s ever spoken about her to, because it boosts his ego thinking the rest of the world views Asian women as some kind of prize/trophy in the same sickening, perverse, disgusting way he does.
I think it is the exact opposite. She's his _"fillipino wife,"_ But that doesn't count as an *actual* wife. A lot of s3x tourists call their regulars that. In turn a lot of street ladies actually use that to their advantage and pretend while they're there _(much like the scammer ironically)_ Sounds like the daughter actually lives in the states in a boarding school or something because the story says _"When he and his daughter where visiting the Philippines he found out she had cancer"_ and he doesn't call her his _"filipino daughter"_ although it could just be a localisation thing.

Leo, there’s another video these people did that was disturbing too. It’s one of their older ones called “Did this man DESERVED to be scammed?” The guy pretends he’s saving this girl from traffickers when he is basically trying to traffic her himself
That one was disturbing to watch, I can't even believe they continued helping him honestly. I'm glad they still uploaded it though to show us how awful he was
The WILD part of this story is upon literally FIRST learning that her husband’s talking to a woman online, his wife’s first comment was “Be careful…make sure it’s not a SCAM…If she asks for money, block her”. Women are so f’ing smart… RIP to the lovely and sadly disrespected Filipino wife…She’ll get his a$$ on the other side! 🤫
Yeah, I just hope their daughter is doing well. That's the worst part in all this. She lost her Mom and her own Dad is too sorry to do anything to help her.
@@Walawalacookie Me too… Hopefully she’s doing better without her dad than she could ever be with him. Part of me wonders if that’s not why she preferred living in the Philippines anyway. It sounds like she’s got lots of family there to love and support her ♥️
Her instincts, all the way from the Philippines, and dying of cancer, were sharp enough to immediately warn him. Of course, he’s got more information and resources, and STILL too stupid and selfish to get it.
“I'm a nurse and a special ed teacher!” translation: “I picked jobs that make people think I'm a good person because I'm trusted with vulnerable people.” People tend to forget that a lot of teachers in special education are horrible and just enjoy power. and being in medical care doesn't always mean someone's kind or good natured.
Oh man, you are 100 percent right. I was in learning disabled classes growing up in the 90s, which back then was part of the special ed program. I had some truly awful teachers all throughout my time as a kid. Luckily I did have 2 amazing teachers though who taught me a lot about compassion and they more than made up for the awful ones. But you are not wrong.
I'm in nursing school currently (and I've worked in healthcare for nearly 15 years as a Medical Assistant) and there are definitely two distinct types of people who become nurses. The first are the kind who are in it because they love patient care and they want to change the healthcare system for the better, and those who want to get into it for the: 1) Money (which is the worst motivation IMHO, because while nurses can make decent money, when you look at the education and physical and mental workload involved, they are actually very much underpaid and overworked) 2) Prestige/Image, especially the part where being a nurse makes you automatically come across as a "good person" And/Or 3) Power, over their patients and over other people like assistive personnel, nursing students, and new grads. There are people in my cohort who my heart honestly breaks for their future patients and coworkers. And these people almost always want to work in, like, the ICU, the ER, the places where patients are the most vulnerable and where they have the most control over their care. It's honestly a little scary, because as long as they can get through nursing school and pass the NCLEX, they are pretty much guaranteed to get a job because of the nursing shortage.
Over the years I’ve learned that (most) teachers are highly unqualified for their position and actually don’t even have 50% of the basic intellect someone in education should have. It’s scary af and a big problem. I myself had a math teacher that tried to wipe away a sentence on a DIGITAL whiteboard.. we had to tell her that it’s not pen but just the text from the teacher before.. they all got a tutorial on how to use them.. And after enough children had complained about her she just went into „maternity leave“ and came back a year later for the next years students
@@Walawalacookie I take offense with this statement...my late mother was an excellent teacher for over 20 years, at her funeral, SO former students and parents of former students said she was a wonderful and caring teacher. I taught college students for 25 years and I got great reviews and lots of thank you cards. My son is in special education and his teacher is a saint! I 100% agree with the giftcard thing. Wasting the time to turn regular money into proprietary money that can only be spent in one place is one of the dumbest actions humans engage in.
Gift cards as a gift were usually just so they don't blow the money on weed and other drugs lol. And for some reason in many circles cash is always looked at as an impersonal gift and for some reason gift cards negate that as it can be for a "personalized" buisness the person actually likes.
The only giftcard ive loved is a Visa giftcard ❤ I think the idea is it is too impersonal. One time I gave my friend 40 dollars in a christmas card, told her to buy minecraft with it lol. We were both 17 and she looked at me weird 😢 anyways she did not buy minecraft
There are cases when gift cards can be useful. For example, at my local Costco, Crumbl Cookies sells $100 worth of gift cards for $80. The customer gets a discount, and Crumbl gets pretty much guaranteed sales since you can only spend the $100 at Crumbl. It’s a win-win.

This dude reminds me so much of a dumber version of my stepdad that I found some really dark humor through the whole thing. Especially since my mom died from cancer while with him (I was in my 20s) and other similarities. My stepdad will have to be older in life, more senile, before he gets caught out like this... but karma is coming for him too. But look: where ever his daughter his (likely with the mom's side of the family) it's better she's not with him. Speaking from experience. Thanks for covering this one Leo, and I appreciate more than you know seeing the moral outrage. It was oddly comforting, and nice to know I'm not crazy. When I got upset with my stepdad's behavior, people would always excuse my stepdad, or enable him, or just generally show indifference and tell me I was making a big deal out of nothing. It was to the point that I had doubts about my reactions. Feels like I got some of my sanity validated. 💜
Unfortunately men are far more likely to leave their sick partners than women are. If you don't believe it just look it up. To betray your wife as she's dying, leaving her last memories of you as a cheater, is disgustingly low
Hum ... they are a bunch of women selling their books telling how they left their dying husbands (they healed eventually) to go "find themselves". Women tend to leave just because the husband lost a job. What do you think happen when it's about deadly diseases?
Sounds like he has so many wives, from different countries, that he calls her that, so we know which exact wife he is referring to. With his “Filipino wife” 😂
I can’t tell if he’s Filipino as well, but you’d be surprised how many men leave their wives and children at home to go abroad and start settling down there. They’re supposed to do it so their family at home can join them in a few years, but so often they just cheat while they’re away. Even start a family with new women. And because many people from the Philippines don’t really believe in divorce (religious views mainly), everyone involved is just stuck in the situation. It’s shitty as all hell, and this guy’s a great example of that.
I wonder why the Scamfish team don't just turn this guy in since he's already identified that the boxes are being moved illegally and the police supposedly know. Why not let the FBI in on his participation of 10 years and let him get what he deserves?

It does seem horrific but I think maybe in the moment, people who have done that badly wanted closure. In a round about way it's similar to people sitting in for an execution for someone who murdered a loved one. I can't imagine I'd ever want to watch anyone die, but then I don't know how I would feel in the moment about it either.
My former boss fell for this kind of shit. Between $50,000 and $80,000. He died a very broke man, left his wide with nothing, and the scammed was still trying to hit him up for more money while he was dying. I provided proof that it was a scam, the bank came to talk to him because they were sure he was being scammed, he wouldn't believe it. I lost count of how many times he went to pick her up at the airport two hours away.
I only feel bad for the poor wife he was cheating and probably used up part of her money too. This why these idiotic victims make me so angry and frustrated, I have heard so many times how those scammers would literally walk over your dead body if they can get that last penny out of you, they have zero empathy and wont stop until the victim is homeless and then dead and not even then, then they try to destroy your relatives too. It makes me so frustrated that these victims rather through all their last savings on people who want them dead instead of people who actually care about them. Seems they rather let their own children as wife starve so they can give money to the scammers, it must be an addiction or something because I don't understand why give all your last money to people who want you dead.
His poor wife and daughter, they deserve/deserved much better. Imagine dying from cancer and your husband says “this is hard on me” this really strikes a nerve in me because my mother had breast cancer when I was a child. She wasn’t in this exact situation but my father was so insensitive to her HAVING CANCER. She was still expected to take care of my sister and I, make dinner and do my dad’s laundry. I’m so lucky to have her with me and I resented my father a looong time because of that. When I would drag him because of it she would always defend him, sad that he can’t do the same. This man is so selfish and I hope his daughter does well in life.
14:10 I think he calls her that because it’s a trophy to him. He thinks it makes him cool to have to label women in his life. Makes it seem like he gets more play than he does because he has to differentiate one woman from the other with labels.

The line 'she makes her body look good for others to see,' is wild. You know that means that he thinks when women's bodies don't look the way he wants them to, he blames *them* for not living up to *his* specific standards. That's disgusting. And Leo, I don't think you're capable of being creepy like that, bc you have a well-functioning brain. They're are absolute wonderful men out there, and I feel sadness for anyone who has to deal with a low life human being like this guy.

I hate to say and i might get hate. Many of these American men who can't get wives here will go over to the Philippines to get a wife because they feel it is easier and they don't have to put much effort. true story. My Friend who is Filipino married one of them. now divorce. She thought he was ok and a good man but all he did was treat her like a maid and free nanny. Then after the divorce he had the nerve to tell her his friend will take care of her. She was so humiliated. She is doing great now. Yes
I'm 100 percent sure that that's the case.
That’s exactly what I was thinking…He’s probably used to saying it that way because he’s always referred to her that way, to everyone he’s ever spoken about her to, because it boosts his ego thinking the rest of the world views Asian women as some kind of

I think it is the exact opposite. She's his _"fillipino wife,"_ But that doesn't count as an *actual* wife. A lot of s3x tourists call their regulars that. In turn a lot of street ladies actually use that to their advantage and pretend while they're there _(much like the scammer ironically)_
Sounds like the daughter actually lives in the states in a boarding school or something because the story says _"When he and his daughter where visiting the Philippines he found out she had cancer"_ and he doesn't call her his _"filipino daughter"_ although it could just be a localisation thing.

He probably didn't let it be known that the woman was flirting with him and that he just told his wife that he had a business opportunity
Her instincts, all the way from the Philippines, and dying of cancer, were sharp enough to immediately warn him. Of course, he’s got more information and resources, and STILL too stupid and selfish to get it.

“I'm a nurse and a special ed teacher!” translation:
“I picked jobs that make people think I'm a good person because I'm trusted with vulnerable people.”
People tend to forget that a lot of teachers in special education are horrible and just enjoy power. and being in medical care doesn't always mean someone's kind or good natured.
Yes 1000% thisss! Its ver concerning!
Oddly enough, if you watch Catfished regularly, there's a lot of nurses as scam "victims"
@@alsmith9853theres actually a stereotype of bullies becoming nurses
I'm in nursing school currently (and I've worked in healthcare for nearly 15 years as a Medical Assistant) and there are definitely two distinct types of people who become nurses. The first are the kind who are in it because they love patient care and they want to change the healthcare system for the better, and those who want to get into it for the:
1) Money (which is the worst motivation IMHO, because while nurses can make decent money, when you look at the education and physical and mental workload involved, they are actually very much underpaid and overworked)
2) Prestige/Image, especially the part where being a nurse makes you automatically come across as a "good person"
And/Or 3) Power, over their patients and over other people like assistive personnel, nursing students, and new grads.

Nah, that is a white man with a capital W and H.

So he earns his outcome. He invested in his own downfall. Way to go Michael 👍🏼 you deserve it.

So glad to see you… having a rough day and seeing a video from you is such a burst of sunshine. Cannot wait to laugh 🤣
14:10 I think he calls her that because it’s a trophy to him. He thinks it makes him cool to have to label women in his life. Makes it seem like he gets more play than he does because he has to differentiate one woman from the other with labels.
This guy is sooo creepy!! When I was around 20-22, I was a manager at McD and every morning around 630, this guy in his late 50s early 60s would come in and hit on me. He would say I was very beautiful and that I reminded him of his wife when she was my age.😳 Some guys have no filter or shame lol
Also, I think he finds Filippina women valuable like a trophy, so he tries to show his worth to us by reminding us he has one.
This guy is so strange in a scammy vibe way, I do wonder if he was trying to use the show to find more about his co-conspirators
Anyone else watching this while getting a midnight snack? 😂
It’s 3pm here in LA
But I am snacking lol
Just off work 11pm here just got into bed with a snack and something to drink 😅😅😅
Dinner for me
I'm in South Africa, its 00:24😂
Scamfish did a livestream with Mike recently, and they had to kick him off because he wouldn't stop lying
My husband and I are 42, why does he look so much older than us???
Cos he's a goofy
Big Goofy 😂
I need to know what's in these boxes....
Counterfeit money
@-8h- I really don't like that guy and what a liar
I can't believe this guy is a school teacher! 🤨
OMFG Leo brought up a valid point; GIFT CARDS SHOULD NOT EXIST ANYMORE!
the PayPal account they show him sending money to is very clearly a man named Bruce like at that point you deserve to be scammed 😂
