I just found out I live 20 mins from a REP showroom/warehouse this past weekend😭 had the chance to try out all of their equipment as well check out all their colors. This company is INCREDIBLE. High quality AND affordable price.
I like this machine. It felt like a quality piece when I was able to test at Home Gym Con 24. It was also nice Ryan from Rep was there to help and answer any questions.
I am a HUGE REP fan. If I didn’t already have the PR5000 with the Ares, I would absolutely look into this one. So well done. Thanks so much for the great review.
Between the Ares 2.0, Adonis, REP x PEPIN adjustable dumbbell, Pegasus seat... they just keep coming. Most others look like they are just trying to keep up at this point.
Would love to see the comparison with Rogue. The only thing that makes me hesitate on this is the size of the stack. Rogue's is 300lbs. With how REP approached Ares 2.0, I kind of just want to wait for Adonis 2.0 since I'm certain a 300lbs version is coming.
Got confused by the intro, was watching a video before this about a few youtubers rating american pizza, straight into this video, thought you were in the ending as a cameo...
Rogue is shooting themselves in the foot not releasing more media on the CTM-1 while REP gets all the attention. Meanwhile, REP scrambling to fill orders before the CTM-1 is released. Notably, they both seem to have a similar footprint on the weight stack options. The shorter stack on the Adonis facilitates it's longer cable travel than the CTM.
I wish I could fit any cable stack in my tiny home gym, but sadly it won't work. Instead I ended up getting a few nice pullies, a loading pin and cable machine cable (which is really hard to cut). I can't use it for everything, but I'm set for unilateral lat pulldowns 🤣 Those have actually been surprisingly effective...
I think they should make an adonis brother where there wouldn't be any low row and lat pulldown so you can just have the full functional trainer. I like the idea that i could choose how wide the unit would be as a functional trainer, but I wouldn't the second latpulldown and lowrow unit
It looks like a great piece, But here's the thing that will keep me from buying it. There's no option for a 4000 series style upright on the front. I've got a ton of money invested in a 4000 series rack with a bunch of accessories that would be nice to use on this, but won't be able to. And I'm not going to double up on certain items because that defeats the purpose of staying in one ecosystem. They need to make a version for a 4000 Series front upright.
FWIW, you can get a Kaizen DIY pin adapter / sleeve to slide over your 5/8s inch attachment so it fits within 1”. I have a couple for when I still owned a Rogue ML and then transitioned to 1” hardware. There was a period where I was still using my old attachments before I slowly upgraded each of them. The adapters did the job well without any fuss.
I want to see an Adonis 2.0 with a higher or angled foot plate for the low row so I have the option to sit on a bench. A common depth so I can use it with an Athena. And an option for an 80" height.
My Low budget keeps getting higher(. SInce this is a garage gym channel then maybe some stuff on upgrading your Garage? AC units, garage door insulation, best speakers for the heat, best mini fridge? Or a new channel Upgrademygymreviews.
I feel like everyone is so excited about reinventing the wheel. Hoist Fitness has had this same set up but includes leg curl/extension. Coop show some of those options./companies. This is a semi-functional trainer because it’s missing options that have been featured on other machines years earlier.
@@mikejensen1473Hoist has a huge home gym lineup. People I guess are not aware of that. I have their V4 in my home gym now which is the reason I commented on this post. Maybe Coop can feature their equipment so people are aware of that option. The V4 I have is at least 15 years old now and basically same as this Adonis but with a leg curl/extension option. You could even add a leg press to it if you want. Rep is just reintroducing what has already been done.
My personal problem is that I can't find any functional trainer available in UK and nost likely will buy first available one even if I would love to get rep one 😢
Can you recommend a functional trainer or rack functional trainer in the $2000-$2500 price range for a beginner to moderately experienced person? I've been working out for a year very consistently with dumbbells and a Bowflex but am feeling limited by that equipment currently. I have had a labrum repair in my shoulder so I can't push my right shoulder too much. I am 61 so I don't want to do crazy heavy weights. Ones I'm considering are the Centr 3 (from Costco), Vesta Pro 2in1, Rep FT-5000 and whatever you recommend. What do you recommend?
Curious question, in your opinion, would it be better to get this and attach to rack rather than get the Ares 2.0? Assuming there is enough floor space
How would it be for belt squats? I know you would have to start at the bottom and use plates/blocks to stand on but looks like the low cable can travel vertically?
I have a space that’s about 6’x4’ to lift in my bedroom, in my San Francisco apartment. I watch these just for fun. This crap is way above and beyond anything I would ever buy. You’d laugh if you saw my setup.
I’m in the Titan ecosystem currently, and whilst this looks awesome, I’d wonder how it would compare (at least solely plate loaded) to the Titan Plate Loaded Functional Trainer. Titans been stepping it up recently and their PLFT has both a lat pulldown and low row 1:1 and trollys (plural) that are 2:1. Would you do a comparison for us budget minded? On sale at $850 recently it seems like a better value option but I’d love to hear your thoughts.
It’s beautiful, but at that price I won’t own one for a while- may just grab bells of steel’s plate loaded standalone for $700 (includes a local pickup discount)
I got to try this at Home Gym Con and it is very nice. I wish the lat pull-down came out over the seat a little more. It felt a little too close to the upright. I guess I’m in the 1% that wants more than 210 lb for the base stack. For that reason, I’m more interested in the Rogue CTM-1 with a 300 lb stack. Though neither is high on my list as I’ve already pre-ordered a Rogue FM-6 twin add-on for my RM-6.
That may be going away in the future. Can’t see companies continuing to do this, after the ATX Trinity Pull-down . And older home pull-downs did have the option to sit me do low rows. No idea why they got away from it
That price for 2 moves is legit insane. A full rack with cable system from major dutie is 600 bucks. Is it fancy? No. Will it replace so many pieces of equipment for under a grand? Hell yes
This is way better. Thinking of the ATX Trinity Pull-down though. It technically has more than two movements though. Single stack, low row, and pull-down
@@fatboitino2 of course is better quality, just dumb to spend 3k on something so limited. My whole home gym nuts to bolts probably is barely 3k and I can do everything I want.
I use a 6 inch jump block for my low row as a seat it works well. Gets you up off the ground and is soft on your ass. It's also leather usually so it won't move around on a gym floor. It's also a great angle for low row. At least for me it make it feel the closest to a seated row machine. Because you are pushing down on the foot pads slightly like a row machine. Allows me better form and better stretch then just on the floor.
