Once you have fought midir like 5+ times he becomes really predictable with his attacks all you need to do is stay up close to him and only attack his head cause its double DMG and don't lock on to him cause the camera can mess you up
I can’t stand being a phantom trying to help some useless moron who tries to whack away at midir’s foot while tanking every single firebreath until he runs out of estus, panics and dies to some incredibly predictable swipe attack. I was summoned by the same dumbass like 7 times and each time he played worse and worse following this brilliant tactic. Worst part was I could do shit because every time I got up to midir’s face, he would agro on the host and turn around. While I had to make my way from midir’s ass back to his head, the host was running in the opposite direction, taking midir’s agro with him. What a god damn clown show.
Yeah, just stand close to his head while he flails around like a madman, runs everywhere and spews flame - if there was a way to trick him into always using the two hit combo it would be easy but he is too random with his choice of attack
Get +10 sharp sellsword twinblades then use sacred oath and deep protection before going in use lighting blade on the sellsword blades hop down aim for the head two hand the blades then spam L1 on him. Use hunters ring, pontiff right eye or sun's first born ring then FaP +3 and chlorathy ring +3
As a DS casual my winning strategy was using the Dragon Crest Shield + Black Knight Greataxe +5. Block most of the fire attacks, hit once or twice in the head, retreat. Physical attacks can be dodged more easily. Also block when he makes the mad rush. I'm only SL 130 with a measly 25 invested in endurance, so anyone can do it. Took maybe 20-30 tries in total.
@@mikansan8216 130 by NG Midir sounds reasonable, I generally hit 120 in NG by Yhorm or so and cap it there for MP. Unless you're constantly dying and losing souls or speed running taking until NG+ to hit 130 seems weird.
Easy is using havels to tank every hit from a boss (eg Gael/nameless king) in a reliable strategy - I've never once seen a midir method that doesn't involve extremely well timed rolling for the entire fight.
I just beat him last week with the same "keep hitting his head" strategy. The difference with this video is that I did it with a Dex build with Sharp Sellsword Twinblades +10 and Pontiff's Right Eye to spam L1 as much as I can and get bonus damage and also Flame Stoneplate Ring for fire defense.
@@absolstoryoffiction6615 I used claymore+10 for most of my runs but switched to sellsword. Some may say that's cheap but it was still satisfying and difficult.

This guy's camera is way worse then nameless because there is a trick to controlling nameless camera problems - lock onto NK, let him do an attack and then quickly switch to the dragon and get your hits in. It's really reliable and works every time, but midir doesn't have a rider so is much more unpredictable.
As someone who beated this boss in just two tries , my strategy was very similar to yours except for a couple of attacks that I dealt with them differently
To be fair, fighting Midir alone, face to face, feels like a bug fighting a majestic titan. It's actually much better than if there was a raid of a hundred bugs
