Dear Gido, you have the wife and I so steamed up about fishing down at your continent that we’re going to fly from SoCal to New Zealand and then to Sydney next January/February. We hope to then skip on down to Perth and fight some of those pelagic monsters in your waters.
Hope your ready. Gido fishes pretty remote on the southern coast of western Australia.
plenty of late nights and early mornings ahead
Don't forget to get some serious fishing done in NZ too seen as you're that way!
Ah I don't think you'll leave nz once you get there big snapper 20lb plus bigger ones a 32 pound snapper was caught in my area up north big king's upto 40/50 kg
Tie off point, that’s a bollard.
Thanks for all your hard work making these videos which are far more entertaining than anything produced by commercial channels,it's the great mixture of fishing, wildlife, scenery, cooking, brilliant filming and editing and your own quirky personality!
Great content and videography! Livin life to the fullest
Classic Gido! Your editing is superb! Thank you! 🐟🐟🐟
That is just what I said Holy Smokes. It made my heart race to hear the reel sing. Way cool. Thanks so much.
Another really good way to cook kahawai is , bleed it immediately, cut it thin, marinate in soya sauce and wasabi, fry it well, poor mans tuna right there. You can cut the bloodline of or fry the bloodline part till it's quite crispy. Bowl of rice, happy days!
Soya or soy?
RodCam was awesome mate, very creative👍
Have never gotten this lucky with a Gido's drop, keep up the amazing content and living "the life"
🤦🏻♂️
🤦🏻♂️
I'm in love with your videos , especially because you don't have litter covered beaches and I really love rock fishing. But, I am in my 70's and I have bad knees. I used to rock fish the rocks on the west coast of the USA. Thanks for sharing stay safe
Hi Howard, yes we are very fortunate to still have a pristine litter free coastline. I do see some rubbish washed up but not much. Glad you enjoy the vids
Great p.b ! Man your video makes me feel like I'm right there on the rod. Always exciting adventures.... fish on bro!
The beauty of the SW never ceases to amaze me.
Thanks
That is absolutely an anchor rock 🪨
Great spot nice fishing but hey a cooking tip - when using foil for baking put the shiny side inside (speeds up cooking process)
Old mothers tip 😊
What a beautiful sunset to top off a delicious meal.Living the great dream.
Thanks for the great adventure Gido!🤙
Fantastic arial footage of the grouper/fly pickup. Smartly done.
Hey Gido, you are a master at knowing just what your viewers are waiting for. Absolutely awesome upload buddy.
me encantan tus videos, disfruto mucho cada ves que sacas uno nuevo, a pesar de vivir al otro lado del mundo veo el parecido en especies del caribe, saludos desde Cuba
Yapıyorsun bu sporu.Türkiyeden selâmlar.
nice work cooking the fish Giddo.. nice to see a different recipe
Gido's guide to catch and release fish handling 😂
That was a great video, you caught your favourite fish trio and the bigger groper was an amazing looking fish, the drone footage is always awesome.Great stuff 🎣👍
You are really lucky and love seeing where you fish next.
Some beautiful places and great fish.
Hope you keep your line wet and that smile going
Mate, I hang out for every new video you put up and I’m never disappointed. Thanks very much! 🤙🏻
Killer campsite! The drone shots are just spectacular! Gotta try your baked salmon recipe...😊
Found your channel today, was binging your content, and this showed up just now! EXCELLENT, thank you for the hard work, sir!
Paradise mate! I do cured and smoked Aussie salmon all the time. Absolutely sensational feed.
Glad you released that grouper. It was a real beauty. Good on ya
What a great end to the trip; loving that B-roll footage! 🤙
awesome trip it had everything, luvin all the hiking camera angles, amazing location and wildlife
Unbelievable, what a treat of a video this was. Good job mate.
Gido, I had to smile as you were all wrapped up in a puffy coat, but your feet were bare.😊❤. Nice fishing, the harlequins are really beautiful.
The place is very beautiful. I wish I were there for fishing one time!!! Thanks
Wow! What a ripper on the fly rod. Great video
Such a special, beautiful zone. ❤
Thank you for sharing your adventures, Gdo. Fascinating!!! Craig
Freaking pumped for this one. Always look forward to the new videos. Much love
Living the dream. Wish I was 25 years younger
Dont wish
Go out there mate
Hello brother, greetings from Venezuela. I watch your videos religiously, I love them. I fish spinning and jigging from the shore here in my country. One question, I have never used fishing chum bag, but I would like to try to see how it goes, what do you usually put inside? Thank you in advance, and I wish you much success, the quality of your videos is tremendous!!
I put pilchards in it. They are an oily baitfish here. When targeting groper I used crushed rock crabs. Any fish scraps from something like a tuna or mackerel would work the same. Or whatever the local baitfish is 👍🏼
@@gidosfishingadventures Thank you very much for answering!! I'm going to try it in the next few days. Greetings and take care
The shots with the camera on the rod are amazing!
Made my Sunday night!
This was a wonderful video even if the fishing wasn’t that great. You did catch some nice fish and the scenery and sunsets were gorgeous!
Great video and location. We have a great recipe for salmon as well. The groper looked epic.🐟
Congrats for over 300K subscribers! Well deserved!!👏
another great episode Gido , watch all of them ,
Really enjoy the longer vids hope you do 1 or hopefully more up north vids this year , that one where you met mates with the yatch fishing flats and on your boat one of my favourites
yes that was a great trip, hopefully I can do it again this year
Thanks man, I always enjoy watching
Man, those grouper on fly were close quarters combat!
Gido I tried cooking salmon a few different ways and I still couldn’t find a way of liking them until a young fellow at a wharf I was fishing on told me how he did it and said they love them , his methods which I tried was awesome , it takes away that strong salmon flavour people don’t like , anyway in a fry pan put milk In it and cook the salmon in the milk , about a Centermeter or 2 in the pan and cook it till it’s done , it’s the only way I eat them now give it a try at home if you haven’t done it that way before .
make sure to trim off all of that red flesh, it's where the bitter/fishy flavour is mostly coming from and there's a lot more of it in older fish
Crazy Gido thank you for the amazing video!
That was Great thanks Gido, sure you living the best life, been watching since you started all them years ago and it just keeps getting better, look forward to the next on thanks again, keep them coming.
Love the solos Gido !
Keen for you to get in the water when ever you fishing to see what fish are swimming around - Durban, South Africa
Absolutely awesome adventure gido love watching your videos 👋🏻🥰🤗👍🏻💯❤️😍👌😀🎣🐠🐟🩵💙
Amazing adventure as always
As always, loved it
Great episode.
Awesome video, Gido!
Holy crap. That is the most amazing groper on fly - great work!
You're lucky over in the West, we've been banned for fishing for them (Eastern Blues) here in NSW. Used to be my favourite species to target off the rocks.
Thanks for another great video.
Banned from catching and killing them on line nothing says you can’t catch and release them which is what I continue to do.
Yes I heard about that and signed against it as it had nothing to do with science. Can’t believe they can just change a law like that virtually overnight with no actual reasoning. Glad you enjoyed the vid and hope they will allow fishing for them over east again soon
@@gidosfishingadventures They banned it now they’ll have a 12 month consultation period as we’ve seen in past few years what we lose we never get back.
@@craigfrith7024 That's interesting - good for you.
I always released the males and bigger females but loved to fish for the 2 to 5 kilo females for food. So common (as you would know) and very few people target them.
It's not just being denied this - one of the great pleasures in my life - by a government ,but also what it might mean for other species in future.
@@pigsandapples It’s just the beginning mate you may have noticed what’s been going on over the last few years with regard to losing our rights.
They’re a non commercial species and are far from in decline no kidding I’ve caught and released up to 15/20 a day depending what ledges I fish.
They are an incredible fighting fish and weren’t bad on the chew either.
Really nice camping spot. Thanks for the video! 🙃
Cheers! Great as always
That video is going straight to the pool room.
Samon are great fillet one side and grill over coals. Skin if you don't like the strong flavor. Grill with bacon even better.
I’ll give the bacon a go with the ol salmon bud , I usually cook fillets of salmon in milk in the fry pan , about a centimetre or two of milk in the pan , it takes that salmon harsh taste away and the fish is moist to eat , very nice if you haven’t tried it , i recommend to give it a go , I’ll try the bacon method lol , everything taste great with bacon lol.
@@fishmut Folding wire grill with a strip of bacon on the cut side over hardwood coals. Some don't like the strong flavor of the oil in the skin, but if you cook it, skin on, DO Not burn the skin. I eat most sea food and mullet and salmon are favorites. There is always a way to get the best out of most fish. Sweep on the other hand not so much.
You need an odorant spray for when those big grouper come around and they're really picky fish sturgeon in the bay area. My whole life WD-40 worked wonders, but when we're fishing in the lake for bass, we use crawdad and shiner spray or just crawdad spray. The fish can't resist you might wanna pick up a can for those days when the fisher being stubborn and just looking at your lure.
Amazing video ❤ I enjoy it very much
Yessir... remember..this is life
What a nice camp spot, good video.
Nice week bro still taste pretty good if you’ve got some flavourings good video
Hey mate love your videos, just a lil tip if your interested. a couple of 1m lengths 40mm PVC pipe under the hull should make life a lot easier for dragging the boat up the rocks🍻
Thanks for the tip, I've been looking into some boat fenders to roll it on for beaches as well
Your Salmon / Kawhai tip is good, they really need to be bled. I like to eat them, when I can get them. But I do not buy them from Fish sellers because they don't bleed them. They are top of the list of sustainable fish in NZ. They make great curry.
great cooking Ideas!
Absolutely top notch content 👏
All the best!

Awesome 🔥💪🏾
Gido the Legend!
at 46:16 we can see Neptune's knob behind ya Gido! LOL🤣
That was a cool rock just poking out if the water in front of camp !
always great content
Sei un grande 👍👍👍
My man, nice catch!
love ya videos bro!
Hey Gido, get a net with built in scale so you can measure your PB before release!
Nice video.
Smells good.
Looks good.
Tastes good.
The video is awesome.
Love the odd shoes
Gotta confess I thought baking the Kahawai was a bad idea. You don't want to over cook them, they get really tough. But it didn't look like it was, so I'm guessing it was OK. Was it a fairly short bake?
Yeh I thought it was overcooked initially but it probably actually spot on as it was moist and tender
@@gidosfishingadventures Good to hear. Sadly, I have to report I fished the sunset here, in a local port area. Got nothing, barely a bite. I'd have been stoked with your fish.
Love the content mate! Especially amazed by your knot knowledge and the balls you got abseiling into prime unfished ledges. Thanks for this I get so hyped about fishing off the bricks. Not sure about chucking a plastic on a PE8 with 80 pound leader but you gotta try when it's slow. 😂❤❤❤
Yesssie !! 😊👍👍
One of those UK carp slings is what you need for easy releases on groper at water level (protected bays).
I laughed hard when you busted the first grouper! The second grouper hookup and fight was more serious. Nice to see it, we can dream. How was the drone work handled while working the second grouper? The entire episode is so rich and rewarding to watch.
Unreal mad dog!!
Cheers mate. It’s not all about the fish. 👍
🎣🤙🏼🎣🤙🏼🎣🤙🏼🎣 good one brother
Nature is amazing...
Another epic mission Gido as always.
I seen you have someone else in WA fishing ledges you put safety bolts in for yourself.
He’s trying to do you but alas there is only one GIDO.
This was a goodun. Nice chunky Groper. Im curious about the boat, it looks like it'd work around here, but I've never seen one. Thanks for bringin us along mr gido.
Nice camera work mate, looks like sitting down relaxing is when you catch the fish on this trip
This video omg❤❤❤ makes me wana visit your country ❤❤❤❤🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
We love eating Kahawai here (the peoples fish) lots of ways, yours looked yum, try it raw Sashimi style its excellent, also island style raw fish cubed soaked in Lemon or lime juice the with onions tomato etc etc and cream (either cow cream Maori style or coconut cream Island style).
livin the dream
Woooow nice blue G🔥🔥🔥
