Definitely needed a lot of palience with Nikachu reading all these cards wrong
At this point it's part of the show, chat usually sets him straight. It's an ok back and forth🤷
Its an issue for most streamers I find. Since you need to divide your attention and all. But yeah he misinterprets cards frequently.
Sometimes I agree sometimes they just aren't worded the best. Even official cards sometimes I have to reread once or twice before I understand what a card does the first time.
@@microsoft-ceo five minutes of confusion as he misreads the card, moves onto another one, thinks someone explaining the last card is talking about the current one, finally gets what they're talking about, repeat
@@bluegum6438Based Nikachu
1:26:29 one of these days, nikachu will accidentally summon an eldritch horror with these flavor texts.
Probably already happened.
Shitty boar was a nuts card. It is a super mana dork. It adds two mana base and gives more if an opponent has an artifact creature in play!
Keywal: For the last time, I'm _not_ Mount Vesuvius. I'm _working for the Vesuvmen._ Put that hammer away, Shane.
Lost for polums could have been fixed and interesting if: it untapped each untap step, the owner could get any color while any player my get colorless but it can only be tapped for mana by a player during their turn.
A bit of a custom card idea I got from that shared land concept. It makes it better than most non basics by giving 2 colorless or 1 of any color without coming into play tapped, but with the downside of having to share it.
[Neutral Ground]
Land
T: 2
T: One mana of any color
At the beginning of each players upkeep they gain control of Neutral Ground and untap it.
1:18:55 "Absolutely! ...I think... I actually don't know." describes that Mirror Sunclave card perfectly 😂
22:42 sungersteat 1 is literally has the blitz definition but it has "Activate only as a sorcery" added at the end for no reason
Inexorable Lyver. Turn one you can cast three cards that cost 1 colorless if you have a forrest in play.
Canopy Polsers ... you flip target players library... lol. I had to laugh hard at this one. Imagine being angry in a tournament because your opp is too far ahead on the board and taunting you with a "winner"-smile already. Then you play Canopy Polsers, grap your opps library and flip the whole deck around. Lol... that card would turn a tournament into a mass brawl real fast... and with all the cards lying around everywhere.
33:23 Finally the missing piece I need for my Scornful Egotist deck.
Tidal from Swords is surprisingly decent, the +1 can create a 0/1 chump blocker that draws cards equal to the damage dealt to this creature, each turn.
Came here to say this, chump and draw a ton of cards isn't bad
_"Excuuuuuuse me princess"_ more more Legend of Zelda animated series than Spaceballs.
Take a shot every time Nikachu doesn't know a (pop)culture reference.
33:37 Ex'cuse of Tewerguid is pretty good with Scornful Egotist. Its an 8 mana 1/1. It get's bolstered into a 9/9 and it has a morph ability to get it onto the battlefield by turn 3. Turn one: Island, Sol Ring. Turn two: Plains, Morph Egotist for 3. Turn three: Plains, Flip the Egotist for one Blue, play Ex'cuse and there ya go.
Dovin Think Elemental is sneaking that unicycle in so good🥰
Convulsion of nature 15:08
I wish that "Play with the top of your library revealed" was just worded like Convulsion of Nature.
2:35 I think Lost for Polums would be pretty interesting if it untapped every turn, but it could only be activated by the player whose turn it was.
Death Mage is the ultimate tech card against an entire cube playing nothing but spells that steal permanents from you.
Lost for polems could be used with one of the creatures that don't allow opponents to play spells or activate abilities on your turn, then you just have to tap it on your turn every turn or risk your opponents getting free mana from you, but an untapped wubrg land is pretty good.
This stream definitely Yaug'd! I laughed and hoxor'd many times at Menmsoon Giant.
On a more serious note, this was the funniest card for me. I laughed for a solid 5 minutes. You can always count on AI cards to have funny gibberish on them!
56:45 There is a card named Cultural Exchange... you swap control of any number of creatures between 2 players so Death mage will then blow most of their creatures since you own them, but still you better win bcs you will have no lands. Perfect card for me 😊
Ownership isn't control.
Use Thieves' auction and only take opponents cards. That way you still have lands.
Try to make my egg a mountain, jokes on you
Yokes on you!
@@NikachuMTGLive lookit this guy crackin yokes over yere!
55:50 for the thumbnail card
Cool thing about that battle, is that in a 4 person group, the person whose side it's on can let the other players attack it for free to get rid of the dang thing, although, it's likely getting procced the turn it's played along with a rat
1:19:07 losing its ability’s is part of its ability, so dose it regain it’s ability and then lose it all over again and just repeats?
No. There's a system in the game called "layers" which prevents this. Unfortunately the same system is responsible for a bunch of other nonsense.
51:59 : but, I thought players already were planeswalkers?
52:11 : ok nvm you said that
For Frostpeaker, if you were to put into play somehow a zombie that is tapped and attacking, you can give it haste so that when you untap and give yourself another combat phase, it can attack again.
And as a comparison to 1 mana creatures in commander, Serra's Ascendant is a 6/6 flying lifelink that isnt broken.
I must say I like the design of Balduvian Samurai. It's basically a 2-color hybrid card, but if you choose to pay black instead of green you must pay 1 extra colorless (in other words, you use the Adventure to filter black + anything else for green, then use that green + 5 more of anything to cast Balduvian Samurai)
What I need to know about Underdark Spider is if it allows you to just keep paying GG to draw cards.
Sauron of the Ball is so broken, I can think of many ways to win on turn 3 with a decent draw and turn 2 with a great draw.
13:49 there is a card in yugioh that flips players decks over and they play with the top card revealed and basically fro the bottom up. I imagine that canopy polsers does the same thing
Omg that whole Keywal commentary was hilarious.
Endless School... of cats, uses blue to buff itself, that really should have been fish.
13:41 there is actually a yugioh card that does the same thing called convulsion of nature or something like that.
Basically you play your deck with the bottom facing up
10:10 in commander, if it's ONLY for commander, and you can't play relentless rats type decks. If you play cards that exile the top card of opponents library and let you cast them, then you can potentially get the effect off.
Maybe shadowborn apostle possibly?
I like how you barely analysed the Tidal from Swords, since most of it's card text applies to option for when the token it summons Dies, not "+1 you can choose one of these"
Sauron is instant kill with all sac outlets that do damage. For example Goblin Bombardment.
35:30 Tewerguid = Tergrid in uwu language.
Tergrid will never be uwu as much as you try it ;).
The only situation when Frostspeakers Zombie ability would be usefull if you would put attacking Zombies into play either if they enter the battlefield untaped or a way to untap them and if they have a tap ability.
I think ex’cuse would work. It defines x as the mana value of the creature with the lowest toughness.
Isn't the draw 2 just what read got in the adventure set, thrill something, but with buyback and black? Now grantedyou discard first but still.
Pretty much. Although AI has no concept of color pie, this card would not be black in the actual game
Tidal from swords is bad, but its better than you think. The +1 taps a permanent. So you can tap a strong blocker and give the opponent a 0/1 blocker instead. Or you can tap a permanent you own to get that creature yourself, play Blasphemius act, choose to draw card equal to the damage the creature has taken, draw 13 cards.
Arain, the Archangel + Krark’s Thumb + Chance Encounter = instant Legacy staple
It is the will of Zedruu that you have this Hateftish...
Ex'cuse of Twerguid get´s stron with cards that can get into play with effects like affinity or anything else that get´s it into play for less. Imagine it in a Gate Deck with the Gatekeeper.
Hull exiles you. First it says you control enchanted creature and then it exiles the controller of that creature.
Lost of polums made me think of a cool land card that i think could be printed:
*Tap*: Add one mana of any color, you can only activate this ability during your main fase
In my opinion this is too good. Yes, you'd miss out on interaction but I don't believe being limited to your main phase is enough of a downside.
@@williamdrum9899 maybe something like "you may only use this mana to cast spells at sorcery speed"?
Is Shadow of Moonsbring broken?
Shadow of Moonsbring is strong but I want it to exist: good design imo
[[Islegitt]] puts 3 card types in your graveyard.
1:18:38 Since it loses all abilities does that make it a Vanilla 5/6?
I don't know, I'd have to read the rules again about layers.
People who don't know about layers think it's a 5/6, because it loses all abilities.
People who know about layers think it's a 4/4, because P/T change is a lower level than ability loss, and only the first P/T change takes effect.
People who really know about layers know it's a 7/7, because abilities don't change layers mid-resolving, so all P/T changes happen first, and only then ability loss.
Sounds like the perfect card to play in Judge Tower xD
Blitz gives it the draw ability already, so Old Cloud gets it two times and you sacrifice it two time. :P
28:21 we've seen fire breathing. We've even seen forest breathing. But now we have water breathing.
Well, it's certainly more logical than the 2nd ..
Why would anyone ever make Frostspeaker a 15/16 WHEN IT COULD PUT 12 1/1s INTO PLAY???
15:02 Chaos orb ensues
lifeline is already a card name
Inexorable lyver is a bit busted for x cost cards.(1:22:00)
oh hey! nice!
Zarakos combined with Famished Paladin = Kill all opponents creatures and gain a ton of life.
56:10 one with nothing got nothing on this
I thought these were custom cards untill frostpeaker
oh god its learning
Wednesday is custom cards
@IskarJarek yeah but they looked so convincing
Sadshrike +1
How about a new tournament style where players all start as planeswalkers with no loyalty abilities and your life is your loyalty. Then as you win games in the tournament, you can gain points which are used to buy loyalty abilities from a pool that everyone in the tournament can pick from. This tournament style can make players build themselves and the decks they use. Each player gets two deck and three lives. You only get knocked out of the tournament when you have no more lives. You gain a life on a win and lose a life on a loss. Players keep getting randomly shuffled until only one person has all the lives and nobody else has any.
That's kind of interesting. But I can see it being annoying if you lose just because your opponent has a loyalty ability that is strong against your deck
Can you summon other players in the tournament to your match?
23:10 Hmmm 🤔
14:15 Drop it turn-2 in a proper game, given the draws in question, there's a very good chance of literal 52-pickup.
Barrenton where my grandma live
1:00:10 cant sauron stunlock the game.
Why does AI not understand the color pie? This seems like such an easy thing to get right.
There are some mono white cards with trample. And sometimes Wizards prints one or two cards that brake the color pie. If you feed all cards into the AI it´s hard for it to get it right.
It's because AI can't actually think. It's an algorithm that assembles words in the most probably correct order based on the information it's been fed. It doesn't understand why things go where they do, so it can't make the connection between flavour and mechanics.
@@TheIhplodur I think it would be fairly easy to have the AI ignore the early sets and Planar Chaos
@@williamdrum9899 WE Just got Salvation Colossus in MH3 as a Mono White Card with trample. Just a few years ago WE got a black sorcery that can destroy enchantments. Beast within gets Reprints every now and than. There is Pongify for Mono Blue that can destroy cards. You have to do more than Just exclude some Sets. How should AI learn whites Draw Abilitys Always come with a condition when the range is from Entering of other cards to another Player draws a Card? The AI has to be programmed for the purpose to create MTG Cards with much more information than just the Oracle Texts to get the color pie right. It could count the specific Keywords in combination with the color identity and rank the Keywords by amount. Than give new cards more often the Keywords with the highest Rank.
@@TheIhplodur If a human can get it right, it shouldn't be that difficult for the AI to at least get it right sometimes. But these are blatantly out of pie. The first card was black and was a looting card. Everyone who has played the game for more than a few months knows that effect is blue.
um 17:35 a planes walker has no power lel alough tehcnly there are ways to give it power i guess
20:38 henzi toolbox would like a word lol
Yeah, even though it's called AI, these programs are little more than parrots. They aren't smart enough to know that what they've said makes no sense, only that it sounds like a magic card. I'm honestly impressed that it managed to even remember to put a kicker cost into the card.
@@williamdrum9899 true lol
@@williamdrum9899I think the person behind the account has said that they have stuck to a somewhat weaker model for generating the cards because it makes it more interesting?
@@williamdrum9899 A proper model like ChatGPT can generate perfectly normal cards, as well as perfectly broken cards and cards with impossible mechanics. It's all text, it's just a matter of what you ask the AI to do.
The MTGNN model is more of an AI-powered markov chain generator, it's specifically using existing card data, remixed and altered. It can and will generate perfectly normal-looking cards if it's made to, but those cards aren't as entertaining. The same is true for cards made with 'proper' AI models - sure they will be functional, possibly even original, but at that point they're little more than fancy custom cards.
It's the whole thing where a set of fixed data fed into a well-trained gibberish generator somehow results in fun and unique-looking new things, carefully selected from among the trash, that's the appeal and primary entertainment factor in this.
lol. Loll Force seems like one of those cards that does NOTHING, but Legacy players are like "This is ban-worthy."
If it cost black mana, then a Horobi Death's Wail deck sees it as "Destroy any number of target enchantments"
Flicker your Barren glory, and play Death Mage with an empty hand. Profit...
thrice mystic ai card..
