    I add a little salt to the pulp and eat use it like you would ricotta. Leave a little moisture in the pulp. Sometimes I’ll also add a little oregano. It’s delicious.

    Berta Jay, I love watching your videos! It’s been very interesting. I’m going to try it as you make it look so easy! You could use the paste as a facial scrub! I’ll save mine and try it. How long will the milk last?

    • @bertajay
      @bertajay  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can keep mine in the back of the fridge in a glass bottle with a tight-fitting lid for about 2 weeks. Thanks for the idea for a facial scrub. Do you add anything to it like a oil or something to make it spreadable? Thanks again, susan 🥰

    wonderful How long can you store them?

    • @bertajay
      @bertajay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can usually store them about 2 weeks but I put them in the back of the fridge so the warmer air doesn't hit them as soon as the fridge door is opened. 😊
      I now use this product most times. Check my video on this same subject, Anna, and see what you think.

    Why do you not want to use cow’s milk?
    And the second thing is: putting that dish towel under the cutting board is FANTASTIC!!!!! I sure am glad you passed that along. I was wrestling with my cutting board today and happened to think of you when you were talking about it, and it works great! Thx a bunch!

    • @bertajay
      @bertajay  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1st, I found that after many years of feeling nauseous after drinking cow's milk I have an intolerance to it. I also understand that cow's milk is for baby cows 😄 and should I really be consuming it? I've been making my own almond milk for over 2 decades.
      2nd, you're so welcome about the moistened towel under the cutting board. I use it myself; truthfully every single day. It has made such a grand difference for me.
      3rd, thanks so much for your comments and questions. Hope I have have answered them well enough...if not, just ask another one 😉

    Wow! Thank you Berta. I had no idea how easy it is. I recently looked at the price of cows milk since I haven't shopped for it in about 3 years or more, and was very surprised at the $6.00 price tag for 1 gallon. Plant milk tastes the same as cows milk to me. I've been buying plant milk instead at $2.00 per 1/2 gal which is much more reasonable. I like the convenience of store bought. But I haven't been wild about the unpronounceable ingredients from the store. I recently invested in a good quality refurbished Vitamix blender. Thanks to this video, I'm eager to start making my own milk! You are the best!

      I love my Vitamix also, Tamson. I got mine on the installment plan from the Vitamix company many years ago. I've had one for 30 years. I’ve bought nut milks in the store but they taste very watery. Does the home made milk have more nut flavor. Can you use more nuts to get better flavor?

    • @bertajay
      @bertajay  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For me, YES, a more nut flavor with just nuts and water, no sweetener or thickeners. Please try this simple recipe and see for yourself then let me know if I missed it or not. If the nut flavor is not prominent enough for you, add a tablespoon or 2 more of nuts with the water measurement I have given. I look forward to hearing from you, Bonnie. I hope these tips help you. Thanks so much for your comment. 😊

    • @bertajay
      @bertajay  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I drink it rather fast but if you keep it in the back of your refrigerator, it should last about 10-14 days. That's how long it lasts me. I have been making these milks for over 15 years, long before it was popular to do it. Thanks for your question, Savannah ;-). Still watching I see. I'm blessed that you are.
