    I have a 2008 GX470 too. Mine’s white, and it needs to be repainted. I’m the 2nd owner also, and it had 74k miles from first owner. It’s now up to 149k and I’ve taken this gem criss/cross country multiple times, and towed 6x12 (filled to the brim) cargo trailers, along with a travel trailer at one time. It still runs like a luxury vehicle. I’m in FL too. Lol! I’m tempted to ask Lexus dealer how much a paint job would be. They’d have to strip all of it off first though, and I’m sure they’d want a fortune. Sigh. Hoping to get 300k miles out of it, and it seems like it’s gonna go the distance!

    Nice GX! I have the VLINE in my GX as well. Suggestion. Buy a Bluetooth OBD2 reader and "OBD Fusion" on the play store. This will allow you to set up custom gages displayed on your screen. I use mine everyday...

I was thinking of metaltech bumper with tire carrier in back- and red dog custom in front with winch-- but I kinda like yours just trimmed!! with everything else normal. I will do sliders, and body armor and a lift of 2 inches. I love the light wiring too.. great job!!

    GX looks great. I got a Tacoma TRD Off Road and will be getting a GX for more room. Really hard decision between 470 and 460.

    • @gx-lc_reviews
      @gx-lc_reviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wrote up a long list of differences on ih8mud a while back. I will say it is a tough call. Set a budget and get the best condition one you can for that money. I prefer the more open greenhouse of the 470, it feels more like my old 80 series, great visibility. The 460 has the stronger rear axle, the 8.2. Power between the two is the same due to the weight increase in the 460. Oh and the 460 has cooled seats. LOL

    You rubbing on the body mount at all? I have some 255/80/17s (33”) with stock wheels/1.25” spidertrax spacers and I rub on the body mount bad. Even with an Eibach lift

    • @gx-lc_reviews
      @gx-lc_reviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No I don't rub at all! Thats seems excessive for sure with a lift. My guess is that its a combination of needing to adjust the caster of the alignment on the front end and those wheel spacers. I only have about 0.5" more offset with these wheels. You are way more than that. I know some guys run 285s on FJ wheels with no lift. But you can't run them on a high offset wheel because as the wheel is moved outward it increases the radius so it will rub more. Hope that helps. A good shop should be able to max out the caster on the front end. That may help.

    • @lexus_offroad_adventures
      @lexus_offroad_adventures 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@gx-lc_reviews yeah I have upgraded UCAs so I’ll probably have the alignment shop jam those puppies forward. Probably just went too aggressive with the spacers lol

    • @gx-lc_reviews
      @gx-lc_reviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I probably need to do a video on the rear power vents. I took the motors out of a 100 series land cruiser and installed them. They bolt up but need to be wired in using relays. Switch plate came from a guy in Australia on Facebook. He 3d prints them for the Prado 120.

      Shopping list at 8020.net
      Part number 4509-Black (x20) 15 series to 10 series corner bracket
      One side is sized for the stock 15 series sized roof rack Extrusion, The other side is sized for 10 series crossbars
      P/N 1020-S (x5) cut to 39.921 Inches (1012 Millimeters)
      You can pick 1"x1" 1"x2" or 1"x3"
      I like 1"x2" for weight savings 1014 mm length should squeeze right into place between the stock roof rack's rails. It's a hair under 40"
      P/N 3386 (x20) Bolt for 15 Series side of bracket
      P/N 3319 (x20) Bolt for 10 series part of bracket to secure crossbars.
      These are the cheapie slide in nuts and bolts. Requires removal of factory rails to get them to slide in. 80/20 also offers roll in and drop in options for more money, also in Stainless steel.
      This shopping list will give you a total of 178$ before tax and shipping. Can be even cheaper with 4 crossbars.
