    Let me know what you this about this laptop. I feel this is a great value proposition for those that don't want to break the bank but don't want to skimp on some high end features. Let me know what you think.

      Fantastic review as always! I was wondering if you could compare the performance to the Spectre x360 16, with the same core ultra 7 CPU but with RTX 4050 graphics. I'm really looking to buy this laptop, but I've heard some performance issues; looking to see how it compares with other laptops such as this one

    I replaced my old photo editing desktop beast with this since I found it as an open box deal for $795. I upgraded the RAM to 40 gb for $71 and added a 4tb data M.2 drive for $300. This thing rocks.

    Would you recommend this over the Asus ZenBook 14 OLED? Or would the ZenBook still be the better option of the 2

    Just got the Zenbook 14 with a RTX 3050 45w. It beats the GTX 1060 6GB laptop I had before and is a massive efficiency upgrade. With ray tracing off, it it pretty much somewhere in between a GTX 1060 and a GTX 1660.

    Nice laptop. Camera and mics were good. Speakers sounded okay. Display good. Overall very good value for what you get especially when it is on sale. Keyboard is okay although the design of the numpad is poor. Asus should redesign it or remove it as in its current layout not very practical. Like the upgradeability options with this. Another excellent review from an excellent reviewer.

    I bought the 2 TB version for around 700-800$ at Best Buy under “fair” condition but it looks brand new. Is that a good price for these specs? Using mostly for online school and play a game here and there on Xbox game pass (came free for a month)

    Hi Andrew! Do you plan to make a review of the new MSI stealth 16 AI studio A1V (2024)? A lot of people are considering this laptop as an alternative to the new Zephyrus g16 because of its fan noise. Then, it would be really helpful since there are currently no solid reviews thereof. Thank you in advance and have a nice day!

    The Asus VivoBook Pro 15 OLED for the base price of $1049.99 on sale at Best Buy is a pretty good one most suitable for a student or someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a decent laptop. Obviously, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but at this price point, it's a good value in my opinion. It will not break the bank at the end of the day and that is the key here. Great review Andrew!! 👍😁

    The screen resolution is low for 2024. I would like to have a 2560-by-1440 IPS over this OLED. (Probably cost prohibits the use of a 2560-by-1440 OLED.) Asus is pushing OLED too hard even when it doesn’t make sense.

    Anyone choosing this laptop would do well to stay with 16GB. With 8GB soldered, adding a 16GB module (for 24GB total) will push the machine into single channel memory mode, crippling performance. A good choice for lefties with so many ports on the right edge. For those of us who do it the right way, using those ports may put a bunch of devices/cables in the way if using a mouse. Overall seems like a reasonable choice when at the sale price... A bit expensive for my taste at the list price - For that money I'd personally find the unit more interesting with the port situation reversed, a 16:10 display, and/or no numpad (centered keyboard).

    • @cameronbosch1213
      @cameronbosch1213 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Actually, that's not exactly the case with DDR5. One stick is dual channel; two sticks is quad channel. With DDR4 and earlier, what you were mentioning was true though. It's not anymore with DDR5 RAM.
      But yeah, 16 : 9 needs to die.

    8GB of the memory sonboard in 2024 is just an awful decision (although it still come with 1 sodimm slot )
    If you do onboard memory at least do 16 , then user can put a 16 sodimm and get 32GB
    Edit: changed to a better word maybe (sorry not native English speaker but you get what I mean)

    • @andrewmarcdavid
      @andrewmarcdavid  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, would have been better.

    • @cameronbosch1213
      @cameronbosch1213 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I wouldn't use that word, but yeah, 8 GB soldered RAM is absolutely a deal breaker in 2024, that should have been 16 GB soldered with a RAM slot.

    • @frankwong9486
      @frankwong9486 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@cameronbosch1213 changed to a slightly better word I can think of 😂
      My English is still broken but any suggestions are welcome
      Asus been doing 8GB onboard ram for a long time but the trade off is huge in ddr4/DDR5
      Using this hybrid on board design you saved some space but lost the ability to use high speed low voltage LPDDR4/5
      And user purchased memory does not always match the soldered memory chip brand
      They mostly work with jedec standards but you won't get the best timing when mixing Samsung with hynix etc :(

    lost interest after I heard about rtx 3050
    why these compenies are putting ancient slow gpus when the new one are already available? how much are they saving? I don't find any reason they give justify putting rtx 3050 in 2024

    • @andrewmarcdavid
      @andrewmarcdavid  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am pretty sure its due to price. If they would drop a 4060 or above it would add a few more hundred dollars to the cost.

    • @mrbuster3106
      @mrbuster3106 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@andrewmarcdavid Pretty sure the implied question is "why 3050 and not 4050", where the newer chip is a massive improvement over 3050, something that cannot be said about 4060 which you mention (for what reason - I do not know). Also if you want FHD oled screen and 3050 - there are still some units from previous season that do just that priced quite nicely.
      Why would i overpay for a rehash of something that's already out for some time and is scoring major price drops as we speak?
