"Talking down" to the person. This was something I was wondering the other day actually when I told a joke. Since some autistic people might not be able to understand implied meanings, I tried to tailor it as best I could, and sending in a video helped. However I wasn't sure what I should have said with the joke to make sure the joke was fully received, and some ideas I though might be taken as talking down to the person. Would you have any suggestions on how to approach these kinds of things in a respectful way?
@@daviddeley4796 Yeah that is basically what I settled with. Had to wrestle with if I should offer to explain the written part, or just leave it at the person apreciating the humour from the video (which was what I ended up doing).

Video Editing is too low 👎👎👎👎 Edit the video in a good style. Add nice b-roll animation when you are speaking or explaining something. This will increase visualization. Put proper subtitles, effects, transitions, and colors in the video. Insert the B-Roll (footage and animation) very well because it is absolutely low in your video. Do all this and then see how the video doesn't turn out good. 🍋

I often have to footnote my dry wit jokes with "That was a joke" just in case someone thinks I'm serious.

I think in person, smiling or laughing as you’re telling a joke goes a long way, but following up with, it’s a joke, is always helpful
