Yup I did that update on my Exmark 30s a few seasons ago, it was a night and day difference the older ones tend to come apart after time. The new ones held together great never had an issue with them.
@@cleancutslawncare the older ones did. My first one was a 2014 model, but I had it until 2020. The turf master I had briefly was also an early model 2013 I believe The 2x later series 30s both had the Koehler engines and upgraded transmission and they both had the newer upgraded pulleys.
Nice pulley upgrades on the mower. I saw your posting on the new zero-turn. Congratulations, man you and Vickie deserve it. Sorry, you had a bad experience at Lowe's. Of course, lessons learned but focus on how this new mower will improve your productivity. Let the Scag do the tall grass and zero for maintained yards so it will last. Dude, again, my heart goes out to you and Vickie. Keep grinding and God will reward you in so many ways. ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Definitely kind of what I was thinking about the new mower. I don’t think I’ll really use it for the first month or so while the grass is wet. For that reason of making it last like you said.
You are well on your way being a small engine mechanic. You will save a ton of money repairing your own equipment. I have the same issues at times with aftermarket parts. Some work just fine while others don’t for some reason. Great job on the pulley upgrade on the timemaster. Good that you have a timing belt on hand just incase. Even though the belt doesn’t show signs of wear, they typically just snap from being old. I rarely get lucky and end up damaging the blades as well. I didn’t notice but you really should install an hour meter on your timemasters for when to change the oil. You should get at least 500 hours of use on those engines if maintained. Plus it’s nice to keep track of how long the belts and cables last.
Yea what’s up with them after market parts. Some are great, then others are like that carb. We had an hour meter on it. If I’m not mistaken… you have them and showed them and I ordered the same one. Could be wrong. Black with a yellow line on the front. It must have fallen off at the end of last year cuz we got back to the shop one day, and it was gone. Will put new ones on this year for maintenance
I have 50 hours on my TimeMaster and the tension pulley exploded and nuked two belts in the process. I'll be updating to the commercial pulleys myself.

Ex mark uses the same cheap ones? For the price they charge?

old pulley can get a lot hours on them. but always break on a busy day for some reason lol
Which is exactly what would have happened lol
i put new pulley on mine last year. one had broke. and my blades got messed up.
That’s why I did it now. I was certain it was coming. Did you use same kind? Have they been good?
@@cleancutslawncare no I didn’t use the same kid that you got. They are expensive I bought that original ones for now.

That’s crazy. Thank fully that didn’t happen to us and we had a lot of hours. But many people had that same thing happen. Early too.
