We love Spelling Power in our homeschool. I often recommend it when people ask about effective spelling programs and I am shocked by how many people don’t look at it as an option. Some people feel it’s confusing, but it really is the simplest program. I love that my kids don’t spend valuable time working on activities for words they can spell. I know they say they are common words, but my son would argue that chauffeur (Level G) is not a common word. 😂 When it came up on a review, he didn’t know if he should laugh or cry. This has been his most challenging word.

We used Evan Moor for a few years as well and it just wasn't sticking. This year we are using IEW's Phonetic Zoo Spelling. It's a very different approach to spelling for sure. Time will tell how well it works. God bless Megan ❤️

Would you please do a video about Biblioplan? It is so confusing to me how to use it for multi ages but it seems like we could love it.

Thanks for this review! It is very helpful:) Does the book explain why/when different phonograms should be used? For example, ai vs ay- is that part of the instruction?

I’m interested to see if you’ve used AAS and if so, which do you prefer and why? I’m thinking of switching from AAS to Spelling Power.

So you don’t move on to the next list until all words are mastered? I have used this in the past and really considering pulling it out again.

I'm am considering MFW for next year for 2nd grade. Have you ever used it as your whole curriculum for all subjects? If so, did you feel like it was enough? Did you add in a different math or Language arts?

Hi! Language arts isn’t included in MFW 2nd grade and neither is Math. Once you get to second grade they give recommendations for curriculum. We did Christian Light for Math and Explode the Code along with Christian Light Language Arts. The 2nd grade is adventures in us history. It will cover bible, history, literature, and science. We loved it!

Are you still using Spelling Power? I’m looking into a new spelling program for my soon to be 4th grader.

Great video, but that 10-ish seconds it went out of focus. Oops.
