  • This Micro Game Changer fly is called the M&M or Micro Minnow! I developed the fly after studying small minnows that live in a local stream. I wanted it to be translucent, have a prominent lateral line and match the color. After tying it, seeing it swim and fishing it, I was blown away with the action and the smallmouth and trout LOVED IT too!! The other cool thing is just by changing the color of the ice and laser dub you can match any baitfish that swims!
    I also recommend tying it with either a brass bead or with no weight! Just by changing the weight the fly will fish in different water columns and allow you to fish it slower. Also when fishing the fly, I encourage you to twitch your rod as frequently as possible. What you'll notice is the more you move the rod, the better the fly with move and look alive! Oh so good!
    In this video, I will share my simple, step-by-step tying process! I hope you enjoy the video!

    😲 ok that looks absolutely KILLER. I wonder if there's a way to get the hook more towards the middle? A stinger would prob inhibit movement, longer shank have to much lever action. Hmmmm...!!

    • @TroutTornado
      @TroutTornado  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The fly as it is now is absolutely devastating. The action is insane and with a short simple rod movements it absolutely comes alive! If you do modify it, tag me on Instagram so I can see it! Enjoy!!

    For the tail shank.. Could you use say a size 16 hook?

    • @TroutTornado
      @TroutTornado  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure you could just never had a problem.. I've caught sunfish on the pattern and they had no problem eating it! 😁

    Could I go to a size 12 hook without the shanks looking too weird?

    • @TroutTornado
      @TroutTornado  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the shanks would look fine The only problem that you might have is keeling the fly. In other words, when you twitch the fly it might go upside down. The only way to find out is by tying one. No risk really, you can always cut off the front hook and tie a new hook on. Let me know how it turns out.
