B Cox is a musical genius...the stuff he did on Ideal' s album (Get Gone, Creep In) back in early 99 changed R & B,then he transcended on Day 26's project....dope .
@@brentduanefoster yes lol reading the credits can put u in the know my g lol ,that whole Ideal project was dope, they were supposed to do another album last year, you can probably find their latest interviews from a couple years back in youtube, yes it never materialized, don't know what happened...
Not comparing their styles, but when it comes to raw talent, I put B. Cox on the same level as Rodney Jerkins, Manuel seal, etc. The great R and B producers.
The great R&B producers? Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Teddy Riley, B.Cox, Babyface, Quincy Jones, Prince, Tricky Stewart, The Dream, Jermaine Dupri, Dr. Dre., Al B. Sure
He spoke at my graduation and if you think he is deep on the equipment you should hear whats in his head. Humble but effective. Anyone know what notes he is playing? This dude is Top scale period.
audiodopebeats totally agree with the bass line comment. I've been doing since 08 and have kept slamming the real bass lines in my work. it's been hard to stay doing it with the style fading more and more but the piece just sounds so much better with that traditional bass line in it.
DannyHebrew whould kill this beat bring it back to life and Then Bless it!!! B.Cox you should go check him out. I know you all would make a classic album!!!
Yo Fide, thanks for this upload! I was watching this before I had class yesterday, but I didn't get to finish watching it. Man, once he added that Trillian synth bass patch and the sexy lead pitch sine, it was a wrap for me! I loved how he talked later on in the video about having original basslines, and not following the 808s. Nothing like a smooth, played subbass! Dude, please make a Periscope or something! I am dying to see your process also!
+audiodopebeats No problem! I agree about what he said on 808s and basslines. I am glad he is going back to doing REAL basslines. The 808 is very played out!
+The King'z Gaming For arpeggios its all about doing them over and over again. Start off slow, get the feel and movement down, and then gradually speed it up. Just dont rush, take your time, start slow. Repetition is key.
No quantize, just raw with it all. My all time fav R&B Musician. 🙌🏾🤘🏾
A master at work
Dwayne..I concur with you...Cox is an very creative man that understands RnB!

MrTuarian THEN I find out that Johnta Austin wrote the lyrics to “Get Gone”. I guess I don’t read the liner notes as much as I thought.

What was that sound he use at 3:30 that sound thats been in r&b and gospel music
It sounds like a pitch up sine wave with vibrato
Man been wondering bout that sound for years... R Kelly used it alot

Brian is on my top ten list of producers. Unfortunately this style is gone.
Nah only difference is they replace the analog synth bass with an 808 and bandpass filter the instruments
Vincent Salamatino it is gone tho. They do bandpass it but chords like these aren’t used bro haha. Eric Bellinger is about the only one left rn
Stop askin what vst he's usin or taking about the daw he's workin on JUST FEEl THE FUCKIN TALENT!!!!!

Anyone know if he released a full version somewhere?
nickalater Not out yet. You will most likely only hear it if it becomes an actual record.
Oh okay. Dang. I could see Tank or Trey Songz on this. Maybe even Brian McKnight.
Hey FIde where did you learn to play piano?
I taught myself! Never took classes or anything. Just a lot of practice and time in front of the piano.
Any tips, for chords and arpeggios?
+The King'z Gaming For arpeggios its all about doing them over and over again. Start off slow, get the feel and movement down, and then gradually speed it up. Just dont rush, take your time, start slow. Repetition is key.
