removing the ability to cancel TP is a bit of a shame as one of the 3 freddy mains. nothing captured that dream demon feeling more than making a survivor think you're about to appear next to them, and when they run away you're already there waiting for them. i'm gonna miss that ability, but to be honest i was expecting freddy's current kit to be fully wiped, so seeing that he's keeping BUFFED versions of 90% of his kit is actually awesome news! i might have to hop on again once this releases.

i have a feeling they did this because of how teleporting to healing survivors must work, which would probably be a different system internally, since they aren’t simple fixed teleport locations like generators. the radius language actually reminds me a lot of how pinhead’s box teleport works, and i’d bet you that they essentially ported that exact same system, with the killer instinct and everything. that’s not cancellable either, so they probably just added that and unified how it works with generators for consistency. i hope they can bring it back for generators at least, but something tells me this is more motivated by development compromises due to resource/time constraints than balance. the argument would probably be that having the teleport mechanics work differently would be unintuitive or something

Invocation: Weaving Spiders has no downside with No Mither, and if you bring Resilience, you're actually putting a lot of progress into gens. Plus it's less wasteful to be sitting in the basement doing an Invocation when you're the weakest link in chase, being down a health state. Instead, you're safely putting progress on gens. The only wild card is the chase itself, so my last slot is usually Sprint Burst.
The amount of coordination needed, to wake up, group up and heal, while everyone is awake, is something soloQ players will struggle with, to reset you have to make sure you’re awake, anti healing builds will be good on him.
If you reset with another teammate to get an unhook vs. a proxycamping Freddy and force the teleport, the 3rd survivor can just swoop in for the safe instead...thats whats gonna happen in every soloQ game...surely :^)
I still want them to bring back the ability to pull the survivors into the dream world, I always thought that was such a cool concept and just needed some way to make it viable
Well, I am bummed about them not making freddy "invisible and having his old m2 pull in dream mechanic alongside these changes" but I do think they made him more interesting, cant wait to try him out :) But I can hear the survivors crying about this already, he seems wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy stronger already and we havent even tested :D

It'd be hilarious if next to the clocks you can find the sleeping survivor and once you interact with them they do a little animation of waking up, as if they were always there. (but they just materialize when your survivor falls asleep.)
I'm loving this direction bhvr is taking by reworking horror icons, Myers and now Freddy. I really hope they keep the trend going with Bubba and Sadako. Sadako should be such an ominous and relentless dread... I get that she is hard to balance for a game considering she can't just walk in and instantly kill everyone with just a stare (yes, she is that powerful canonically) but she should still like she has you trapped into her relentless game of cat and mouse... Forget her mori completely if you want, but if she could get more options and more abilities the more condemn stacks she gets across all survivors, a bit how myers has tier 1, then 2, then 3, she could really feel like the menacing onryo who slowly eats at her preys and that would feel a lot closer to the movies than just getting 7 stacks and then getting a mori. Survivors could still drop tapes to remove their stacks, but she would be rewarded for keeping condemn pressure on all survivors. Heck, the mori could be only accessible after 21 stacks if you want or on the last hook stage of each survivor to save a few extra seconds, I really don't care about it, but she feels nothing like an almighty onryo as of now.
Tbh this seems like an amazing rework, especially due to the fact that they didn’t completely change his kit but rather they buffed it in interesting ways, this gives me a lot of hope for merchants rework
As a freddy main since he released on console, I like the changes they made, except for the part where you can no longer cancel his teleport. It not only added more skill to him, but more deception, which is what bhvr were going for right now, making it a counter intuitive change.

That was such a fun mechanic and fit Freddy so well!
The pallet explosion and dream snares is the more interactive way of getting survivors to sleep. You can still teleport to a gen and trigger dead man’s switch, it’s just now you get to chase the survivor as well. Instead of leaving them at a blocked gen for a while. I think removing that will be more fun for the survivors so I’m not opposed to it. It’s like arguing the new clocks will slow his ability to get into chases because survivors no longer have to run across the map to where a clock is possibly exposing themselves to the killer. IMO it’s a quality of life change for the survivors.
I wish instead of getting rid of the tele cancel they just put in an add-on to have the option to tele to survivors while healing. Canceling Tele with dead man's was really fun

The singularity is semi-complex but fun because you get to control the game whether your opponent knows how to counterplay or not because Singularity can mindgame and if Freddy gets more freedom in his kit then all the more power to him but there's no justifiable reason to get rid of an engaging survivor killer interaction because of it.

The new paint brush and freddy being able to teleport to survivore while in dream world will be strong af. They will have to go to the clocks constantly to stay awake. The slowdown will be nuts. 😂 Ok they can go to any clock. So the slowdown wont be as bad as i thought
Once a clock is used it is put on a cooldown and wont be available for a while so yes its still somewhat a slowdown since a different survivor will be forced to either wait the timer out to use the same clock or run to a different clock
@@martezblade Unless I missed it, if they didn't remove the Wake Up interaction between survivors alarm clock slowdowns won't be too great. I get the Wake Up interaction gets longer the more its used but it can be used anywhere, anytime.
Firstly let me preface this as I am a killer main most of my time is on killer and ngl this looks like a solid rework he actually looks like he’ll fit the role of a dream demon and really is taking what they already have and improving upon it and I can’t wait to see how he plays my only concern is if he’ll be a solo queue and new player demon since it seems like you will need some co ordination to counter but overall looks like a solid rework

Dream pallets against solo quers who have zero idea will have to guess an give free injury. Obviously coms make EVERYTHING in dbd easier but powers like this that rely on survivors not knowing are just far too volatile and make solo que absolutely miserable. Even the best solo que survivors in the world will be forced to guess and lose health states. Tell me how that's a skill issue.
Freddy has been out for much longer tho, and his last rework was a massive blunder, same as twins actually. they don’t really seem to care about twins tho considering their pick rate is in rock bottom
Overall, seems like a good start for his rework, but I guess we'll have to see on the PTB. But this will definitely make the Dreamworld a very significant danger to survivors, which was always a weak point of his power, thematically. This should be interesting.
I recently bought him before the Christmas discounts were off and yeah... I didnt belive people when they said he was super boring to play AND THE WERENT WRONG. Anyway I hope this makes him feel better to play as.
I highly doubt dream pallets will be able to down survivors since it specifically says "injure" and not remove a health state. Most likely it will just put them in injured state and deep wound if already injured. I'm gonna be honest though. . . This Freddy rework sounds bound to get gutted and forgotten about not long after release. Obviously we'll have to wait for release to see for sure, but it sounds like they made the issue they wanted to fix worse. Yes he's going to be a better killer with a better kit, but decent survivors still shouldn't have that big an issue meanwhile he's going to be even bigger of a noob stomper. Remember when skull merchant got reworked to no longer being that bad and noob/trash players refused to learn counterplay so they whined till they gutted her into oblivion? Can't wait for freddy to get the same treatment after becoming a better noob stomper.
Would make sense with the new mending system but I think it is a power that could down, as long as it’s telegraphed and Freddy is slowed down or needs to commit to it in some way.

I'm just worried that if it becomes too telegraphed it will be useless because then you can get slowed down and a survivor can just go "oh, while ur slow I'll ignore the obvious trap and run to a safe pallet" Overall that new part of his power feels like it's gonna be a pain to properly adjust so it actually does something against decent survivors without being a complete noob stomper ability
Free character trials are cool but i worry if thatll make killer ques take longer during events because of the amount of people wanting to try killers they don't have
My issue with freddy wasnt that he's weak (in my skill range hes not bad) but moreso he was suuuper boring. Ive had games where i rolled freddy and 4k'd as freddy and the only "dream demon" part of him was that i was half asleep

I never knew there was a map prevention system, because a lot of the maps just feel the same with slightly different loadouts. But having a REALM prevention system? Oh buddy oh man I can't wait to not go to the God awful corn realm 4 times in a row where I can't see anything from color blindness. Also, they don't want skull merchant "setting and forgetting" at loops but they will give Freddy infinite 3 meter wide pallet bombs.
So, i want to start out by just commending BHVR for even attempting to update Freddy. This is a great sign, right after the Myers update. That said, if i understand this correctly, there is a big problem with dream pallets. The activation time will encourage Freddy's to activate when a survivor enters a loop. Survivors will respond by learning to simply not approach pallets. Given that current Freddy's counterplay is already to not drop pallets if he has dream pallets, and survivors will only triple down on this with harsher punishments than a bit of wasted time dropping a fake pallet. This will lead to an interaction of survivors holding W until Freddy has fired a snare (which will be even more obvious, considering it is no longer a trap that only asleep survivors can see. I also think this will primarily discourage Freddy's from using them at all, which is still the current understanding, and the snare changes are incredible.
I don't care how well survivors out loop me I am 100% using Killer Queen pallets. Also its a 3m range, a lot of loops can keep a survivor near it. And depending on how it looks/sounds when he does it you can wait for them to round a corner and activate it, lining up attacks.
Sad to see no updates to Chucky after they gutted him. No add-on overhaul, no speed buff, no cooldown reduction. He now has the lowest kill rate in the game and I guarantee they’re abandoning him for a few years now.
This is only developer update, not PTB patch notes, we'll see tomorrow rest of the changes. Hopefully they will buff him, but I'm running out of copium 🙁

Indeed. I used it to mind game and bluff survivors as well as kick them prematurely off gens so they run into me coming from another direction.

You have that you just have to hit them with dream snares and they are thirty seconds closer to sleep

Cancelling teleport was a core part of the bluff mix-ups that Freddy could do and losing that is simplifying his kit to a detriment

Once a clock is used it is put on a cooldown and wont be available for a while so yes its still somewhat a slowdown since a different survivor will be forced to either wait the timer out to use the same clock or run to a different clock
@@martezblade Unless I missed it, if they didn't remove the Wake Up interaction between survivors alarm clock slowdowns won't be too great. I get the Wake Up interaction gets longer the more its used but it can be used anywhere, anytime.

Firstly let me preface this as I am a killer main most of my time is on killer and ngl this looks like a solid rework he actually looks like he’ll fit the role of a dream demon and really is taking what they already have and improving upon it and I can’t wait to see how he plays my only concern is if he’ll be a solo queue and new player demon since it seems like you will need some co ordination to counter but overall looks like a solid rework

All killers are solo q destroyers. Also the Hud tells you everything, solo q isn't an excuse anymore just get gud

@@Khaledzilla4 Except mechanics that are completely reliant on communication...? Dream pallets with coms will literally do nothing. Dream pallets against solo quers who have zero idea will have to guess an give free injury. Obviously coms make EVERYTHING in dbd easier but powers like this that rely on survivors not knowing are just far too volatile and make solo que absolutely miserable. Even the best solo que survivors in the world will be forced to guess and lose health states. Tell me how that's a skill issue.

Freddy has been out for much longer tho, and his last rework was a massive blunder, same as twins actually. they don’t really seem to care about twins tho considering their pick rate is in rock bottom
Overall, seems like a good start for his rework, but I guess we'll have to see on the PTB. But this will definitely make the Dreamworld a very significant danger to survivors, which was always a weak point of his power, thematically. This should be interesting.

I highly doubt dream pallets will be able to down survivors since it specifically says "injure" and not remove a health state. Most likely it will just put them in injured state and deep wound if already injured.
I'm gonna be honest though. . . This Freddy rework sounds bound to get gutted and forgotten about not long after release. Obviously we'll have to wait for release to see for sure, but it sounds like they made the issue they wanted to fix worse. Yes he's going to be a better killer with a better kit, but decent survivors still shouldn't have that big an issue meanwhile he's going to be even bigger of a noob stomper.
Remember when skull merchant got reworked to no longer being that bad and noob/trash players refused to learn counterplay so they whined till they gutted her into oblivion? Can't wait for freddy to get the same treatment after becoming a better noob stomper.

Would make sense with the new mending system but I think it is a power that could down, as long as it’s telegraphed and Freddy is slowed down or needs to commit to it in some way.
@@JollyCandy-ki3er if it's telegraphed enough then i would also be fine if they let it down a survivor. I'm just worried that if it becomes too telegraphed it will be useless because then you can get slowed down and a survivor can just go "oh, while ur slow I'll ignore the obvious trap and run to a safe pallet"
Overall that new part of his power feels like it's gonna be a pain to properly adjust so it actually does something against decent survivors without being a complete noob stomper ability

My issue with freddy wasnt that he's weak (in my skill range hes not bad) but moreso he was suuuper boring. Ive had games where i rolled freddy and 4k'd as freddy and the only "dream demon" part of him was that i was half asleep

I never knew there was a map prevention system, because a lot of the maps just feel the same with slightly different loadouts. But having a REALM prevention system? Oh buddy oh man I can't wait to not go to the God awful corn realm 4 times in a row where I can't see anything from color blindness.
Also, they don't want skull merchant "setting and forgetting" at loops but they will give Freddy infinite 3 meter wide pallet bombs.
I'm so glad I can be somewhat OG Freddy with benefits, though didn't mind running around and putting peeps asleep manually...
So, i want to start out by just commending BHVR for even attempting to update Freddy. This is a great sign, right after the Myers update.
That said, if i understand this correctly, there is a big problem with dream pallets. The activation time will encourage Freddy's to activate when a survivor enters a loop. Survivors will respond by learning to simply not approach pallets. Given that current Freddy's counterplay is already to not drop pallets if he has dream pallets, and survivors will only triple down on this with harsher punishments than a bit of wasted time dropping a fake pallet. This will lead to an interaction of survivors holding W until Freddy has fired a snare (which will be even more obvious, considering it is no longer a trap that only asleep survivors can see. I also think this will primarily discourage Freddy's from using them at all, which is still the current understanding, and the snare changes are incredible.
Ok but imagine u can activate them from anywhere, it means you would be able to snipe with dream pallets while seeing
I don't care how well survivors out loop me I am 100% using Killer Queen pallets.
Also its a 3m range, a lot of loops can keep a survivor near it. And depending on how it looks/sounds when he does it you can wait for them to round a corner and activate it, lining up attacks.

Sad to see no updates to Chucky after they gutted him. No add-on overhaul, no speed buff, no cooldown reduction. He now has the lowest kill rate in the game and I guarantee they’re abandoning him for a few years now.
This is only developer update, not PTB patch notes, we'll see tomorrow rest of the changes. Hopefully they will buff him, but I'm running out of copium 🙁
