These are i believe the best 1911 magazine ever! Fits my 40's 1911 very well. Just very very well designed. I just bought an 8 round wilson today and a off brand junk! These wilsons are worth the price!!!!

Great Video, very helpful. Many shooters overlook the importance of cleaning their mags.

I've relied on 47Ds for many years and haven't had to do anything more to maintain it than keep it fed with ammo. Recently bought 3 of em brand new and all of them had issues holding the slide open. Upon inspection slowly bringing the slide back with an empty mag in it you can see the slide stop kinda wimpily pushes up into position and often only halfway. Whereas my other mags slam the stop up with an authoritative "snap". You think lube is the fix here? And will they break in over time to get smoother on their own? Kinda disappointed to even have to worry about this on a mag i bought specifically for it's "trouble free performance" which has been my experience for years and years up to this point. Help would be appreciated.

You should call and have the magazines replaced. That does not sound normal and I would have to suggest if in fact they are new, they could have been assembled incorrectly. Or you may have lied too and they are not new. Wilson no longer sells magazines in a zip lock bag...just a suggestion since I don't know more about your purchase.

I'm looking for a 47d style magazine with the polymer follower for a compact... that DOES NOT have the additional baseplate on the bottom. I am looking for a flush fit magazine for my 1911 officer model.
Does this exist? So far i have not found one. I am having failure to feed issues but i refuse to use a magazine that has an added baseplate on it that kills the look of the flush fit.

Just used this video to correct a filthy magazine that was causing feeding problems. 5 minutes later you'd be hard pressed to tell the mag was used and the feeding issues are no longer present!

My spring has about a 30 degree twist from top to bottom. Is that normal?

Wilson combat magazines do not work in my Colt 1911 Govt. Series 80 45 ACP. I have three and discovered to my horror that they did not feed Hornady hollowpoints reliably, caused jams, and failues to eject. When I changed to hardball I had the same problems. Then I changed to Colt and Pachmyer magazines and the hardball fed reliably. To think I paid $35 each for these three Wilson magazines and they are just crap! Disgusting, especially when I was using a 1911 which has always worked flawlessly and I was trusting my life to it and Wilson magazines!
