Underrated advice for Alex. Akuma is probably his best shoto matchup. EX knee also gives him some of his best oki, and eating even a meterless CC combo off of Alex is like 40% life for Akuma. I can't count the amount of times an Akuma activated VT fullscreen then just did air FB into death. Lariat and c.HP are also really good for really bad demon flips and both can convert to EX knee, or worse if he has VT1 active.
@Grand Rapids If you're looking for a jump, you're going to get him with EX knee regardless. The idea is not to react with the right AA, you should always be AA'ing with EX knee if you have the meter. If you're not prepared and you can't react with knee on time, just block, just like any other AA attempt. Alex doesn't have a quick AA button regardless. You have a long time to react to fireball, though. Just make sure to have meter when Akuma has VT active. Stopping his air approach is Alex' biggest asset here, no need to lose hope because you get hit by a couple of jump ins.
@Grand Rapids It's just one of those match up things. Most characters just have to deal with it. Even if a character has a good , fast AA, Akuma can blow it up with air FB, or dive kick. When I play another character, I just stay out of cross up range and just try air to air or dash under if he does jump.

You forgot to mention that urien can just throw a up fire ball to shut down literally any air approach but it's a read that can be blown up pretty easily :(
I mostly mentioned the knee drop since it seems like an answer to the air fireball you can do on reaction. If I do a Urien vs every character video, we can include the up-fireball read there :)
Resist your intial instinct to block and walk forward. Just a very small step forward will cause the head stop to whiff. Most bisons will notice this while mid air and cancel into Devil reverse. That move has a huuuge hurtbox below it. Now just Anti Air
That is definitely a fair point. However, if you jump and you happened to get clipped, then you are probably close enough to just block the fireball high and take the plus frames. But if the neutral jump works, you can get a jump-in punish. So risk-reward is up to you based on spacing.
I've said it a thousand times and I'm going to keep saying it.... *WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO TRAIN WITH ALL CHARACTERS* (Limiting us to training only with charters we have Unlocked is Pay2Win) Idc if I need Pay Money to play with Poison or E. Honda I need to be able to train in the training mode with them! (I'm not paying Cash for E. Honda only to train with the Dude) Get rid of this Pay2Win Feature it's Aids!
@@NotJohnnyKim main thing I worked on prior to this video is just ground game learning spacing of fierce punch and med kick for punishes taking advantage of walk speed. And light kick abuse for pressure game. I can’t get pass platinum but I’ll say I’m a little above average. Excessive jump is a bad habit to get out of and just because he has a air fire ball don’t mean it’s necessary all the time

If you know they will do an empty demon flip you can also do (EX) low parry on kolin for mad damage and possibly a mixup

Falke can actually use VT2 overhead to punish both VT and normal air fireballs
