    G’Day from Australia 🇦🇺, I bought mine 3months ago and absolutely love it 😍, taken her on long highway trips, great fuel economy, beach driving fantastic also into the mountains so good off road … will be doing more adventures with her, only criticism they didn’t fit recovery points at the front for snatch strap recovery will fit Bull bar when start doing more hardcore off road 😊

      @@manuoz3545 I bought the 2021 GLS. Extras, tow pack, off road floor mats, black duck seat covers, rola trays with low profile bars and 1/2 size cargo barrier, that way I can drop the seats and push longer stuff through without having to remove or adjust barrier forward. We do go off-road. When the tyres wear out I will upgrade to coopers. When out of warranty I will replace the front bumper bar with alloy unit with winch. Regarding price I was lucky back in October 2021 still normal, now just crazy through the roof.

    Am confused between the diesel and petrol version here in middle east we have sandy terrain mostly so i dont know how the diesel will handel large dunes in case we require to go on them also the fuel card shows for petrol 10.9 km/l and 12.9km/l for the diesel whats the average milage are getting ?

    • @Africasideways
      @Africasideways  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only have the 2.4 diesel here, it performs very well on sand. fuel economy 9/10l per 100.

      @@sahilnms sorry for late response yes just bought the petrol version v6 i wanted to go for diesel but the diesel price here is not cheap and you dont get the full option performance wise the car is a bit heavy on take off but drives nicely and comfortable on the long rides off road havent tried it yet only on the beach does great for fuel cosumption for the petrol if you are on the high way you get 9-10L/100 km in city depends on the traffic cosumption varies between 13.5l up to 19l in some cases per 100km so in short for full tank 70l you get around 600km on highway and 400-430km city

    How does the Forester Sport hold up against the Pajero Sport off road and on-road?

    • @Africasideways
      @Africasideways  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Paj will do better on serious off-road, on-road much of a much-ness.

      I have owned both(currently in the Pajero Sport) and the sport is like a forester with low-range and a difflock, they are about as comfortable as each other, but you will go a lot further in the Pajero Sport. Another thing to consider is that the Pajero Sport is build a lot tougher than the Forester, for example the side shafts on the Pajero are about twice as thick as on the Forester, so in the ruff stuff you will hurt the Pajero a whole lot less than the Forester. The Forester is still a brilliant SUV and for standard gravel travel you will not go wrong.

      I like to think of a forester as a soft suv that can take you further than most soft suvs but the paj is a true 4x4

      A little more than shopping rounds 😜 I have taken a Forester all the way to sossusvlei as well as through the Kgalagadi, it's very good on soft sand!

    Your testing a 120 Prado which is over 15 years old compared to a couple year old Pajero. Get serious boys and test a 150 Prado which will eat the Mitsi all day ever day and you know it. Additionally, the Prado is still made in Japan compared to a Thailand made Pajero sport. Put your hand up under the dash and see how much skin you are left with. Rugged edged wall over the Pajero, tell tale signs of a poor build. The Pajero engine is so highly tuned I doubt it will get to 250,000 kms when compared to the Prado current 2.8litre,

      is it a fair comparison? R700k for the Pajero Sport vs R1.2M for a Prado, maybe compare 2 Pajero Sports to 1 Prado as its almost double the price... and around reliability, the Pajero Sport wont even be properly broken in at 250k, the Prado 2.8 has 53.5 Kw/Liter, while the Pajero Sport 55Kw/Liter so from a tuning perspective they are about the same.

    • @Africasideways
      @Africasideways  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed, at twice the price it's more Fortuner vs Pajero. The 150 is a brick.

      An unbiased look at both would suggest that the LC may have an edge for off road capability (this is debatable) and reliability. The Pajero has better driving dynamics on paved and gravel roads. The price difference is the big issue, as the LC is far more expensive. Often you can do a few mods to a Pajero to improve its off road capability and still save money over a stock LC!
