3:55 that is definitely a Star Sapphire. You have no clue how much I want to come there and just bring back buckets of gem Feldspars and Gem Corundum to make jewelry with.

Thank you for taking me with you on such a fun trip !!!! It really saves my gas and shoe leather when I can sit back at home on my lazy behind, whilst you and Jeff do all of the trekking, bending, and lifting. Not to mention, I have an inordinate fear....No......a paralyzing fear of bears ...and I marvel at the courage you two have in venturing into locations where hungry bears could be hiding...
As always, you are a fount of knowledge, and you are kind and generous of spirit to share with all of us - your virtual companions on your adventures. You and Jeff totally ROCK !!!!!

Thanks, actually we found a pair of deer legs on the trail and other pieces scattered all around. Not sure if it was a deer or bear who did it. It was kind of wierd as we walked along more bits and pieces kept turning up.

Caver461 Coyotes more than likely, possibly a wolf pack but I believe the nearest packs to be in Algonquin park.

What kind of gemstone/mineral is that in the thumbnail and beginning of the video? Feldspar - Moonstone?

You have a very soothing voice just like Bob Ross, you should consider voice acting or hypnosis or something, dont let it go to waste!

My car is way too low for rockhounding. My next vehicle will be 100% rockhound friendly.

Currently live in an area with limited rockhounding, and live vicariously through your rockhounding adventures. Thank you!

Travelling, I would recommend you take a look at the rock formations in Kirkland Lake Ontario, just behind the building of Veteran Affairs, you will see how the rock tumbled from the actions of rock moving with the force of a volcano, when I was there this summer as usual I am a wanderer and I stood there and looked at a distance the formation of rocks and boulders there. I saw a women lying on her back, with a face and a breast, then her tummy. Then I saw many many snake heads, it would be worth your while to take a look, I know it says private property, but these buildings belong to us too since we paid our taxes and private property simply meant veteran affairs were laying their rules and didn't want people like us taking a look around, I being an adventurer walked on those rocks all around that building and I was thinking of a trip made by a William Parks, he was asked by Archibald Blue minister of mines (1898) I am just using memory to give you the info, but I have hand written the information when I found it on a micro film. And I imagined there being a river bed somewhere in that area. I shall try and find his book its on the internet I am sure I found it once. Thanks once again.

Sorry I posted to soon... so in that video and some of your others... you can just go and collect? Like stopping on the side of the road and poking around the road cuts is ok? We don't have that in florida but up into Georgia and further there looks like great places to explore but everything is fenced in... makes rockhounding very difficult and typically expensive

For the most part, the places on my site are free to whoever comes along - this being the case in Robillard Mountain, Titinite Hill, Grace Lake etc.
