The young lady is correct - they put on the best shows. I saw them on this tour in 94 and though I've been to hundreds of concerns, there are only a small handful that holds a candle to that soul.

Pink Floyd has not a single bad song in their catalogue but I think it's fair to say that Shine On You Crazy Diamond is their Magnum Opus, you guys should definitely do that next and I mean the full version not just the first half

@@innosanto Respectfully disagree, love all eras of Floyd but it was Nick Mason and Richard Wright who founded the band, Gilmour era is just as vital, Waters had taken his time at helm as far as it could go, imo of course.
@@innosanto - Though Barrett's personal influence on the other band members was obviously considerable, his musical influence is usually vastly overrated. He was only around for one album and their major success came years after he was kicked out and when they'd developed their own unique style.
Echoes has got to be mentioned when discussing their magnum opus.
Influence of Syd is for the first album but after David and Rick created PF sound. Waters could be mentionned for the writing.....

Great reaction guys, there's not much to choose between "Comfortably Numb" and " Sorrow," but imo comfortably numb is better purely because of the raw emotion and feeling Dave Gilmour puts into that fantastic solo. If you guys want to check out some earlier stuff have a look at "Echoes" the live version from the 1971 gig they played at Pompeii, three of them who played at Pulse were at Pompeii, Dave Gilmour (Guitar) Nick Mason (drums) and the late Richard Wright (Keyboards) the fourth member Roger Waters on bass left the band in the mid 1980's👌✌
Actually all of "Animals ", my favourite album, but....the only problem there, it' impossible to pick out one song..perhaps because it's like book. (Well "The Wall" was also a type of book but you could pick out singles (like "comfortably numb"...which they did).
If you want to continue to react to Pink Floyd and want to enjoy not only the great music, but also the lighting effects and the spectacular show, listen to "Run Like Hell" either again from this concert or (and I like this even better) from David Gilmour's "Live At Pompeii 2016" concert. Bravura!
If you want a real musical experience, from Pink Floyd's earlier work, listen to "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" - 1975 (ideally with the original animated video) or "Echoes" from Pompeii in 1972. These are absolute musical gems!
And if you admire Gilmour's Stratocaster, check out "Marooned" from the "Division Bell" album (won a Grammy for Best Instrumental Track) or "Coming Back To Life".
Another couple of good ones are the "On the Turning Away" live performance which was remastered in 2019, and the Pulse version of "Run Like Hell". "Run Like Hell" was the last song of the concert with the appropriate Pink Floyd stage effects. 👍 on your reactions as usual.
Ah yes, your better half, nailed it in one short sentence,... "It's like a vibe", ... I know she's talking about this song in particular, but that word "Vibe", is an excellent description of Pink Floyd, the band in general! These guys are off the charts man, like no other Rock band!

There is so much going on at their live performances it's incredible, just look at all the equipment on stage, that alone gives an idea how Pink Floyds' attention to detail is unequaled.
They have done this throughout the bands career, virtually no song is a throwaway song for Pink Floyd on any of their 15 Studio albums, 4 live albums, 9 compilation albums, 5 boxed sets, 6 extended plays and 27 singles. over their 42 year career from 1965 to 2006.
Here's a few of the bands greatest albums in no particular order,.. "Dark Side Of The Moon", 1973, "The Wall", 1979, "Animals" 1977, "Wish You Were Here" 1975, "Meddle" 1971.
Im a huge roger waters era pink floyd fan, but you cannot go wrong with any song from pulse (which came after waters left the band) easily one of the best concerts ever if not the best.
Awesome review. They are so talented and tight. You gotta see from live Pulse: SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND (song is a tribute to Syd Barret a former original band member who suffered from schizophrenia and drugs). But also: KEEP TALKING (David uses a voice box on his guitar) ONE OF THESE DAYS (David uses a flat pedal steel, all instrumental song), and their encore closer RUN LIKE HELL is fire like you say, but literally in addition to the lights/lasers the use pyrotechnic. Enjoy down the hole you two go...cool!
remastered version 2019. Usually their opening song of the concert, no lasers or smoke, compare that to how they finish with Run Like Hell lol...

ECHOES Live at Pompeii 1972 is perfect for you guys to know what is Pink Floyd.
Keep in mind there are two parts to this version and most reactors only react to the first part. This was a concert documentary. They opened with the first half of the song and closed with the second. The studio/album version is 23 minutes.
This Pink Floyd fan really appreciates the thoughtful praise for this great band. I also suggest "Run Like Hell," although it was the final song of the three-song encore ("Comfortably Numb" and "Sorrow" were the first two of the encore) and might leave other songs feeling a bit flat--but, maybe not. Definitely react to the Pulse "Run Like Hell," but also check out the instrumental "One of These Days" from the concert too (the only words are an effect-heavy statement: "one of these days I'm going to cut you into little pieces"). A deeper cut from this concert might be "Learning to Fly," and, as someone below mentioned, from The Delicate Sound of Thunder Concert, check out "On the Turning Away" (I see you reacted to the studio version already).
Pink Floyd is very versatile. They have a sound, but they do a lot of different things with it. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their songs! Great reactions! (P.S. I still recommend "Keep Talking" from Pulse too!)

I was at this concert the night it was recorded in London. Also seen them 6 weeks earlier in Rotterdam. I'd love to see you both react to The Great Gig in the Sky, original album version though as that is the masterpiece. Ohh and thanks for not doing what others do by pausing every minute or so.

David Gilmour is one of the main reasons I started playing guitar 10 years ago, you should react to some of his more recent live videos from his solo tours. I'd recommend his songs "On An Island" and "Rattle That Lock"
On An Island live with David Crosby and Graham Nash of CSNY are on backing vocals and David Gilmour's guitar work on that version sends me over the Moon! Check it out and Enjoy! 🎸
But definitely do the version from "Remember That Night" rather than "Live At Gdansk". RTN gives a more soulful and emotive performance throughout.

For me the penultimate Pink Floyd song is Echoes, I remember when it came out and showed a quantum leap forward for Floyd, a better suite than Atom Heart Mother and a huge step forward to the brilliant albums that came after. We played Echoes as one of the last songs of the night for over a decade every Saturday night! Do Echoes at Pompeii, the video is in 2 parts as it started and ended the film on the event of them playing in the ruins there. So do Echoes at Pompeii Parts 1 & 2. It will be another great Floyd performance and experience. Enjoy! 🎸

The Pink Floyd rabbit hole is deep. With at least 5 masterpiece albums and so many classic songs to chose from, it takes months to appreciate their music. You just scratched the surface of their catalog. Btw every song from the Pulse concert is worthy of a listen, and a deep dive into their albums is worth the time. Pink Floyd will reach deep into your soul. A life changing experience.

One of David Gilmour's best Floyd songs. Pink Floyd in 1994 did their last tour w/ David Gilmour (vocals & guitar), Nick Madon (drums) and (the late) Richard Wright (keyboard & vocals)... the rest were studio & live musicians.
Original bassist/vocalist Roger Waters was not in the band.

High Hopes from pulse is a must listen.
Just a real quick fact about the concert you just watched. This was done at Earls Court in London very large venue that sold out 15 nights in a row for this group!! That should tell you how great Pink Floyd fans know their show is going to be! I've seen them four times in three different decades and there are none better at putting on a concert!!
You should do On The Turning Away the lyrics will make you realize how true the statement is and his guitar is so powerful and emotional it will make you tear up.
It's beautiful and sad at the same time.
Comfortably Numb is the better song for sure, one of the best guitar solos ever recorded but this live version of Sorrow really displays how damn good Gilmour is in concert, his ability to create and control nuanced feedback at that volume is truly incredible. Of course, the whole concert entourage are amazingly talented as well, couldn't pull it off live without them since the core of the band at that point are just 3 guys. Good reaction vid, thanks!

I was fortunate enough to have been at the Pink Floyd Pulse concert in May 1994 which was their last tour as that group. That was the most ethereal concert I have ever attended. I am a professional musician but I must say, this concert was the best I ever seen or attended....bar none! All of the 70k attendees including me were totally mesmerized through the whole show. David conveyed that emotion sweetly with his playing as no one else could. The sound , the sound. Great manipulation of feedback. Glad the great Floyd gave y'all smiles.
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know
Ahhhh yessss two more PF fans begin their journey down the rabbit hole…. You will enjoy it there is no doubt … when you get time try listening to any of their albums from start to finish in one sitting…Dark side of the moon is a great starting point for complete album listening.

I saw them at the Pontiac Silverdome July 1987. It was my birthday and wanted to treat myself. I bought tickets to both shows. First concert was the regular tour set. The second one was them playing Dark Side of the moon. That only happened once. I was SO thrilled that I got to see that. They are better live than they are in the studio. Spiritual experience not a concert.

Saw this tour live in Vancouver. Best summer of my life. Canucks went to game 7 in the Stanley cup and pink floyd 2 weeks later.

Listen to the full version of Shine On You Crazy Diamond; there’s multiple parts but you can find the full thing together on TH-cam. They wrote the song as a tribute to a band member who essentially just disappeared on them one day. Check out the story and listen to the song. The band member’s name was Syd, hence the first letters of the name of the song.

I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION…
I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.

When you're in the audience for the bridge, where it temporarily slows down and goes ethereal? Stadium or arena, those white lights were so bright it was like the sound was coming out of nowhere, which added to the 'heavenly' feel. If you want another cool audience experience for visuals, try Roger Waters (one of Pink Floyd) live version of the The Great Gig in the Sky.
I am so glad I got to grow up during the greatest time for music. The skill, the talent, the geniuses these young people were/are, was above and beyond anything in history.

Don't feel like you're alone when you can't describe how you feel about a David Gilmour guitar solo. I think it's because he knows how to play to our soul and not just to our ears.
Literally every reactor on TH-cam has said the same thing, and I felt the same thing when I first heard Dark Side of the Moon in the mid 70's.
