Hey Smeedia just have a question for you, I have a 2021 wrx stock and I just want to do E85 and a pro tune with cobb AP, and flex fuel kit, Do I need injectors? And fuel pump also?
On throttle at higher speeds whats your avg fbk or fkl ? I'm seeing alot of -2.80 or even as high as -7.00. Fbk is whats hitting the -7.00 At low speeds never shows anything
@@rasheengrant you are correct. Both of our motors have the revised 3rd gear, pistons, and rods. I didn't know they revised the rods. How much do you think we can make on a stock block? Hey man love the content I’ve been binge watching your STI build videos! I’m gonna start building my 2017 Sti this year. Just a quick question... I want to stay in the safe power zone 350hp. I’m only planning on adding FMIC, Turboback exhaust, fuel injectors, short ram intake! And of course pro tune. What are your thoughts on that as far as reliability as a Daily
@@Smeedia What fuel pump/injectors would you recommend (cc’s) Also I was thinking stock turbo but if you recommend a bigger turbo I’ll just run FP blue. & you think that’s a reliable setup on a stock block?
@@Smeedia As you know, the scene down here is terrible, but that just means it's even more special when you see a Subaru lol. Appreciate the replies, man. Keep doing your thing!
@@Smeedia being trying to figure that one out cuz i runs great for a while and sudenly it starts doing it. Maybe is tunning imo but if u know the reason why this can happen lets us know.
i also just noticed how low your car sits on a cold start, my 06 jdm import legacy gt spec b sits a 2000+ for while but in saying that i live in nz where its going into winter so when i start my car to leave for work at 7 its like 6 degrees or less
@@Smeedia i wish i could go 85 but i live on the outskirts of a country town so its not the most easy to access thing and 95 octane is already $2.40 per litre and only getting more expensive because of the greeny nutcase government and e85 is way more expensive so fuel economy is of some concern.
@@Smeedia its 91, 95 and 98 but unless your car is tuned for 98 theres no benefit to running it. 91 is regular petrol, then 95 is premium ( forced induction fuel), then 98 is premium premium

i guess here in Dallas were luck cause theres e85 around the block well under 2$ and 93 readily available. the car is looking really good with the vents on the hood. one day my car will be this bad ass but with a fa20dit.
@@Smeedia thank you. the car is paid off so its a waiting game for now. im making a lot less money right now so plans are on hold. im doing the sti trans swap at some point. i think thats still the weakest point in the wrx. i read these cars making 350 hp and tq safely as long as the owner isnt a dumb ass. thanks again ill keep watching and probably commenting. btw i have a 18 wrx base.
Those voice Vp racing gas cans are expensive if got other ones 3 from target for 17 bucks a pop for a 5 gallon😂 and also are you gonna upgrade the clutch?
Cobb accessport you mean? Any OTS maps require an intake. but you should be good for like stage 1+ OTS, IF you get an intake. (Intake + cat/turbo back) Definitely a good start. Sounds so much better than stock. (Ive got the q300 on mine)
Its not super accesable for me so being able to run flex was a better option. Plus E85 is super corrosive so it helps to run a tank of normal gas through every once in a while
I’m new too the subie world I’ve always own German, we’ll still do but always wanted a sti so I jumped in head first of course there is a lot that’s different and I don’t know much about the access port what do you recommend I use on my gauges

I like that aem 340 doing good for me thus far
So the DW300C actually flows the same as the AEM both are 340LPH so going to look into another pump
Also do you find the ARP vents help with cooling or is it negligible difference? @smeedia
They do make a difference, I can see the heat coming out of the vents to help bring Temps down
so i have cobb big sf, awe track, cobb down pipe, tgv delete, fuel pump, injectors 1050x, aos, bov, 44mm ewg with uppipe, turbo inlet, and im at 309whp on 93 pro tune. what would you suggest for me if i want to get to 400whp on stock block.
FP Blue, E85, FMIC, FPR and Fuel lines and that should get you close with that you've already got 🔥
Thank you so much, love your channel
Dreams do come true! As you say got to risk it for the biscuit!!
Just gotta go for it 😁🔥
Hey Smeedia just have a question for you, I have a 2021 wrx stock and I just want to do E85 and a pro tune with cobb AP, and flex fuel kit,
Do I need injectors? And fuel pump also?
No need for injectors since your car is dirrcet injected but you will need a low pressure fuel pump😁
hi so im about to go flex on my 2020 sti. what would you suggest as in regards to filling up tank..how would you do it?
The flex fuel sensor will auto calibrate to whatever % your have in there so no need to balance the tank out
Is it just the 19s that got the stronger pistons? I thought it was the 18s too ?
2019+ have the RA short blocks
Would you say it's safe to run E85 on a daily basis? Not sure if E85 is safe sitting in your gas tank for an extended amount of time.
Yes, as long as you don't let the car sit for an extended period of time 🔥
On throttle at higher speeds whats your avg fbk or fkl ? I'm seeing alot of -2.80 or even as high as -7.00. Fbk is whats hitting the -7.00
At low speeds never shows anything
-7 sounds like flash knock lr ghost knock. I regularly see around-1.40/-2.80
@@Smeedia my heart drops everytime i see -2.80. At times its right away on throttle when driving hard
@@Smeedia how often do you see -4.20 on fkl? Or have you ever seen the dam drop ?
Totally normal my man 🙏
Can we talk about the smell of e85 lol but great numbers man! im enjoying your build.
I livs thr smell of it 😍😍😍 and thank you! Enjoying the build so far!
The nearest e85 is 1hr 30min😭. I have the 2019 sti. How much more is the ra motor?
BIGHITMAYFIELD correct me if am wrong but we have the same motor that’s in the RA. I said we because I also have a 19
@@rasheengrant you are correct. Both of our motors have the revised 3rd gear, pistons, and rods. I didn't know they revised the rods. How much do you think we can make on a stock block? I watched a video of a guy who had his sti tuned for 450whp on e85 with stock block. Not sure what year his sti was tho!
BIGHITMAYFIELD I’m not sure to be honest. It’s my first sti and since I’m still under warranty I’m neglecting any power mods for now.
@@rasheengrant same here. Im waiting on my 36000 mile or 3 year mark.
@@bighitmayfield646 You pussies! Haha I'm just kidding. I "tried" to tell myself that I was going to ride out the warranty but by 1200 miles...........it was voided. Tuning them just makes the car feel that much more crisper and smoother but I totally understand why someone would want to keep her stock until the warranty dies.
You deserve a subcribe and like sir. Nice video
Thank you! Appreciate the support! 🔥😁
Get a larger Rad, AOS, Fuel Pump, Cyl 4 cooling mod and you'll need a slightly larger turbo. Cobb 20G is a great choice!
@@Smeedia What fuel pump/injectors would you recommend (cc’s) Also I was thinking stock turbo but if you recommend a bigger turbo I’ll just run FP blue. & you think that’s a reliable setup on a stock block?
Not looking to build block or replace motor anytime soon lol
1050s would be fine with an AEM 340 🙏🙏 @ 350WHP you shouldn't have any issues
@@Smeedia cool thanks man! I just recently subbed but I’ve been binge watching all of your installation videos! I’m ready to start building mine
Just picked up my flex fuel kit and radium hard wire kit.
Ohhhh good pick ups 🙌🔥
Driving downtown Puyallup; nice. I was down there all the time when I lived there.
Yesss! Nice area! Guessing you moved away with the past tense?
@@Smeedia Yeah, moved to Mississippi about a year and a half ago. Definitely miss WA!
Been out there a few times, used to live in Louisiana 🔥
@@Smeedia As you know, the scene down here is terrible, but that just means it's even more special when you see a Subaru lol. Appreciate the replies, man. Keep doing your thing!
So you got the e85 cold stumble hehehe thats so normal. Do you also get the stop light surging?
No stop light surging just a little stumble on cold starts 😁
@@Smeedia being trying to figure that one out cuz i runs great for a while and sudenly it starts doing it. Maybe is tunning imo but if u know the reason why this can happen lets us know.
Next video. IAG closed deck built block for big horsepower
Very possible 😅😅😅
i also just noticed how low your car sits on a cold start, my 06 jdm import legacy gt spec b sits a 2000+ for while but in saying that i live in nz where its going into winter so when i start my car to leave for work at 7 its like 6 degrees or less
Darn, much higher! I could adjust it if needed and I think I may have to in the winter time especially on E85 😣
@@Smeedia i wish i could go 85 but i live on the outskirts of a country town so its not the most easy to access thing and 95 octane is already $2.40 per litre and only getting more expensive because of the greeny nutcase government and e85 is way more expensive so fuel economy is of some concern.
Do not blame you then, interesting that you have 95 though! We don't get anything over 92
@@Smeedia its 91, 95 and 98 but unless your car is tuned for 98 theres no benefit to running it. 91 is regular petrol, then 95 is premium ( forced induction fuel), then 98 is premium premium
Ah sweet sweet subie sounds
🤤
Yesssssee 😍😍😍
Just curious even though your smiles 😊/mile have obviously increased and rightly so, what is the reduced mpg with the HP bump on fun juice blend 🌽?
E85 will get worse mpg than normal gas. It burns quickly. My wrx gets around 9-15mpg on e85. If your interested my insta is Subi_buildz
About what subarubuildz is, around 8 - 12MPG is what I get on corn 😅
@@Smeedia did your 92 mileage go up? My 93 mpg went up significantly, not sure if it's a sensor thing or if it's true, but it's showing 30ish avg for me. (33 hwy). Up from like 18.... O_O
Not sure, haven't really used 92 since the car has been tuned 😅😅😅
i guess here in Dallas were luck cause theres e85 around the block well under 2$ and 93 readily available. the car is looking really good with the vents on the hood. one day my car will be this bad ass but with a fa20dit.
Good luck on thr build! And I Haven't been to Dallas in a while, had cobb plano tune my old 08 STi back when cobb owned them
@@Smeedia thank you. the car is paid off so its a waiting game for now. im making a lot less money right now so plans are on hold. im doing the sti trans swap at some point. i think thats still the weakest point in the wrx. i read these cars making 350 hp and tq safely as long as the owner isnt a dumb ass. thanks again ill keep watching and probably commenting. btw i have a 18 wrx base.
What year sti is this man?
How much gallons of e85 is safe to mix with 93 octane on the stock fuel system?
You could prob go to an E30 on the stock fuel system with a tune. Injectors might throw a fit though if they're the stock blues
Those voice Vp racing gas cans are expensive if got other ones 3 from target for 17 bucks a pop for a 5 gallon😂 and also are you gonna upgrade the clutch?
Was not too bad got 2 of them for like $40 or so but they ain't cheap and going to have to swap it soon
What block you think is butter iag blocks or Bader built blocks ?
Both assemble great blocks with attention to the fine details. You're pretty much safe choosing either or. Go with who you feel like supporting 🤘
Exactly, both are solid options 🔥😁
What turbo are you running and are you on the stock clutch?
FP Blue and stock clutch still, holding strong 😁
would you suggest this turbo for the wrx or would it be to much for it?
Yes I would, very good turbo for OE blocks 😁😁😁
Wish my sti could be like this one day
Wish mine was, one day we’ll get it.
Little by little!!!
@@tommanning7337 if only it didnt cost so much 😂
Little by little! Taken me almost 2 years to get it here 😅
Smeedia and just look at the outcome, AMAZING!!!!!!
CleanRide Channel I hear ya $$$$$
Cobb Turner for invidia r400 on stock wrx base is that a good start?
Cobb accessport you mean?
Any OTS maps require an intake. but you should be good for like stage 1+ OTS, IF you get an intake. (Intake + cat/turbo back)
Definitely a good start. Sounds so much better than stock. (Ive got the q300 on mine)
Holy shit you’re in my hometown in Puyallup wild dude that your right there
Yessir! Grew up here 🔥😁
Looking forward to seeing it perform at a race track!
Same! Need them to open back up soon!
I didn’t know JBLM had E85. How do you get it there? I’m only 15 mins away
Prior service so I can get on base, not sure if everyone can but it's right after thr main gate
Brats on getting her tuned. Covid put a halt on my plans. Aiming for mid to late June. 😞
Hopefully your ablw to get on the dyno soon, I know the pain of the waiting game 😣
Was that a Fiero in front of you at/around the 5:50 mark? Those things are fuckin gnarly.
Yup! Thing was nuts, dude wanted to play a little 😅
Could you possibly do an oil pressure install video?
Gauge
Already have the video made, its in the STI build Playlist 😁
How has the reliability been and how many miles are you at
I pulled the engine at 30K for an engine swap but car held just fine 🙏
What are you monitoring on the left gauge pod?
Left is boost, right is AFR, lower cubby is oil pressure
Are you straight pipe with muffler only? what's your setup?
Killer B ELH, Grimmspeed Up pipe, Tial 44mm EWG, cobb catted downpipe, WTS Extreme catback
@@Smeedia ohhh you have ELH, that's why it kinda sounds like a 2015+ wrx!
How much did the dyno cost you?
In total I spent about $1200, the tunes were about $900 and some other things that needed to be fixed were about $300
What do you use to record the audio??
I use my EOS R with a lapel mic for audio and the go pro for video then line them up in post for cleaner sound
And dyno numbers definitely aren't everything... the power band and average power is as important as peak...
Agreed, just did not want everyone to be fully wrapped up in numbers alone
Amen Max Daniel!
E85 Amen!
Yesssss 🔥😍
Am excitedddddddd to get 400 whp
Youll love it!!!! 😁😁😁
@@Smeedia I am pumped lol.
Favourite you-tuber and i love ur ride , i have like your ride 440whp , greetings from dubai ❤️💪🏻
Thank you! Appreciate the support my friend! 😁😁😁
I check that reflection everytime i drive down meridian on my lunch time lol
Haha glad im not the only one 🤣
Max length of time you’ll keep E in VP cans?
No more than a week or so
Why didn't you want to just run E85 on the car ? any draw backs to it ?
Its not super accesable for me so being able to run flex was a better option. Plus E85 is super corrosive so it helps to run a tank of normal gas through every once in a while
Only 7min in, what wastegate are you running and you know the spring?
lmao nvm
Spring is set to .9 Bar 😁
Do you have a video installing the Perrin AOS
Only have one on the IAG 😔
I’m new too the subie world I’ve always own German, we’ll still do but always wanted a sti so I jumped in head first of course there is a lot that’s different and I don’t know much about the access port what do you recommend I use on my gauges
Welcome to the world of subaru! And this should help you get started 😁
th-cam.com/video/mBHCESzy4c4/w-d-xo.html
Thank you
why do you have a tps and light in dash?
I do not use TPMS Sensors, they do not fit in my wheels
