Hope the pandemic is soon to be over. I would love to visit Ukraine, one of my good friends is from there. Huge respect from Denmark to Ukraine and it’s people 🇺🇦🇩🇰
Oh my goodness that restaurant in a tree would be an amazing atmosphere. I love that mushroom soup in the bread bowl, such a cool idea, in fact all that food looks wonderful. Great video guys.
Thank you very much! The atmosphere was awesome - especially at night - when it was crowded and traditional music was being played. Ah, I wish more things would be served out of a bread bowl ;)
Hello guys!! I am in Kiev and I went to Opanas after watching your video. The mushroom soup with homemade dumplings in bread crust was absolutely amazing. The place is indeed great!! Thank you for the recommendation!!
Cheers from Chicago ! Just $30 for the entire meal? I started packing ! Good thing that I don't need to obtain a visa as a tourist ! Excellent video ! Good information about the cost of food, etc.
Guys, I am totally addicted to your channel! The way you show us the world is exiting. You both do an amazing job. Thanks so much for your contagious spirit! Cheers!
I studied in Taras Shevchenka university(the famoud red buiding in front of a park where this restaurant is located )and I've been at this restaurant many times. I am traveling theworld now and I was pleasantly surprised to see a video about this place on your channel ! Many good travel experiences to you guys !
Oh yeah, I just need that cabbage roll and a red wine and that'll be my ultimate winter meal ! I love Sam and Audrey's commentary as well, always descriptive and interesting. Well done guys :)
Hey. Just stumbled upon this video, not knowing anything about you or where you had traveled. Skipped intro and instantly forwarded to the middle of the video to see what you've actually ordered and such. But then I've noticed that the location looks really familiar. And sure enough, it's Opanas, haha. Been there a few times when I studied at the Taras Shevchenko University which is obviously just across the road from the park. Reminded me of the good times. Anyway, nice vid!
I am traveling to Kiev and Lviv next month and I'm so glad I found your videos. I have made most of my plans of where to go and what to eat from what you did. I don't speak the language and I'm traveling solo but watching you guys has made me so much more comfortable. One question though, I hear tipping isn't necessarily at restaurants there. Is this true?
Just discovered your channel and already a big fan!! Im Korean, born and raised in Chicago - die hard Cubs fan! I am living vicariously through your channel and love your appetite for adventure and amazing food!! I commented on a different video but I saw so many that I cant remember where it is. When I saw Sam in Cubs gear while eating Korean food, that was the icing on the freakin cake to hit subscribe! Cheers to you both and looking forward to binge watching past videos to catch up.
Thank you very much! We're hoping to revisit both Chicago and hopefully Korea again soon. Wouldn't it be great if the Cubs were to repeat this year? :)
On top of Korean food, do you miss deep dish pizza, Chicago style hot dog, or Italian beef sandwiches too? mmm! My husband and I are headed to St Louis to catch Tues and Weds game! Hopefully Tues game is when they clinch the division!
Ukrainian rock band Mad Heads made cover of Ukrainian song and they filmed music video about wedding in such restaurant th-cam.com/video/OTx9te8n9yc/w-d-xo.html
Kyiv is really really affordable even by Asian standards, let alone European. I've visited multiple high-end restaurants while I was there but I don't think I could've considered any of my meals "a splurge" since they mostly came under US$10 per person. Unbelievable value for money. That said, great video!! The bread looked really buttery & good.
How you find such amazing places ? Ur video is awesome as always, I want u to make more such video. I have questions tho, will it help u more if i watch advertisement before ur video?
wow you guys are so respectable in this video with your reviews and very kind with the praises! I guess that's what differentiates a traveler from an everyday Joe. I guess I got used to seeing Buzzfeed/Facts/etc videos of people trying out foreign food and really disliking some of the stuff lol so I was surprised at how polite and respectable you were. Living in the West you see food from all over the world (Mexican, Indian, Chinese). Eastern European food seems so basic or "bland" in comparison. So thank you for your enthusiasm and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in Ukraine! P.S. It's always ok if you don't like something; you don't have to like all off the food or touristy stuff 100%. I've got Ukrainian in my blood but I'm not a big fan of borsch >.
Thank you very much! Sometimes I almost feel those videos are done with encouragement for the people trying it to over-exaggerate their reactions. For instance, to spit out the food or something. We're lucky that we really enjoy most food that we try wherever we go.
You should really try salo when in Ukraine. Not sure if you're gonna like it, but you should try it. On the side note: do you guys ever dislike anything?
This is typical tourists' place in the center of Kiev. Ordinary people from Kiev are NOT visiting this place but usually come to MacDonald of PuzataKhata where price for one full meal is 100 grivna, or 150 grivana, that is not very cheap too (for locals, for sure).
Man...!!! I've watched several videos of yours... and... always it ended for me with going to a good restaurant to eat something you've had just been eaten on the video. I wonder, how you are abel to keep yourself in a good shape with such an amount of calories you are able to swallow!!! Thank you for sharing your good times by the many different tables in the World!!!
Thank you very much! Ah, that is awesome to hear. If we have a big meal out when tend to eat lighter at home. For example fruit and veggie platters with maybe some hummus and sliced meat instead of a higher carb meal.
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos thank you for posting and repling it's my dream to travell and learn about countries every country is amazing and has it's wonderfull way of living

Guys, thanks for amazing video that presents our cuisine! But I've gotta tell you something. .. the main dish (duck) is not out traditional one. As oranges don't grow in Ukraine 😐. But it definitely was music to my ears to listen how much you enjoyed the rest! !!
I am going to ukraine in 1 month. I have lactose intolerance. Does anyone know that the food in ukraine is mostly with cheese or milk? Anyhow the food looks delicious
Try some Crimean tatar food! Thats something very local. In Maidan Nezalezhnosti there is one very good (and cheap) Crimean tatar- food restaurant. Ate here the on Thursday. There is a possibility the ownership has changed or a chef has left perhaps. Would not recommend this place, you can find better for sure. Reading this as of today is depressing. I hope everyone there makes it through that war into a better future. 🇺🇦

Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos The soup reminds me of your Poland food video where they also served you soup in a bread bowl. Haha
The mushroom soup in a bread bowl looks awesome! I love the vlog! Thank you
Thank you very much! It was such a nice surprise that it came in a bread bowl :)
Hello guys!! I am in Kiev and I went to Opanas after watching your video. The mushroom soup with homemade dumplings in bread crust was absolutely amazing. The place is indeed great!! Thank you for the recommendation!!

Oh, that is really cool to hear! Actually we ended up tipping at most places but that is a subjective call I suppose.
Hi, great video! Would you be so kind to change Kiev for Kyiv which is correct one?! Thanks

In such restaurants Ukrainians usually celebrate weddings :)
Yeah, we noticed a big group the other night. Could have been a wedding.
Ukrainian rock band Mad Heads made cover of Ukrainian song and they filmed music video about wedding in such restaurant th-cam.com/video/OTx9te8n9yc/w-d-xo.html
