    I am a 58 year old dirt bike rider.
    Woman about 5'4 at 145 pds and I lift to install my Ultimate MX Hauler by myself.
    The 1st time I got it I was concerned and was afraid of its weight BUT I took the suggestions on how to hold it and I have gloves on when lifting it to place in position and found no problems after practicing slowly and carefully.
    Lifting it every other day for about a week. I also afterwards bought a 4 inch high low hitch adapter and can now load my bike by myself. I cannot lift the bike onto the platform by myself BUT with the hitch adapter it's no problem. Just shimmying the bike a bit now into position and almost rolling it right over the platform position now it's not a problem. I ride a 2015 Suzuki DR200.
    It works, be patient and take your time getting use to it. Great Product!

      It seems like you could line the bike up a couple feet behind the truck and then back it up to move the lifter under the bike, like a forklift.

    The bottle jack is needless complexity and cost.
    Just make it screw operated so anyone with an electric drill can raise and lower it. No clue why they use the bottle jack design. Makes no sense.
    Also, let it go all the way to the ground. Why force people to lift short bikes? It isn't even an option on some 300lb dual sports. You aren't lifting it.
    So many ways to make this better, cheaper, and more reliable.

    • @alexpersinger
      @alexpersinger 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexpersinger Screw mechanisms are used in scissor jacks. They are used in a lot of high force applications.
      You can easily raise a lower a 20,000lb boat with a simple mechanism on boat trailers.
      It makes no sense why they use a jack. It is probably the worst possible option for what it is used for in this design.

    I have the same body style tundra used in the vid. Might have to invest in one of these. I have the kind that needs tie downs. I bought a bike off Craigslist, went and picked it up and noticed someone snatched my tie downs out of the back of my truck. The owner had tie downs he gave me, I was on the freeway 5 north San Diego and the bike fell off the back. Total night mare, totally sketchy situation because the tie down broke. This is nice, no need to carry a ramp either.

    does the ONE strap actually hold the bike safely in place??

    • @alexpersinger
      @alexpersinger ปีที่แล้ว

      The bike is secured to the platform via footpeg shafts, essentially bolting the bike to the platform, the tiedown strap is just to keep the handlebars from flopping around.

      Very well and I travel from San Diego to the deserts 2 hours drive up then back few days later. Have used it to take my bike into my mechanic locally. I love it. If you follow the directions and secure it properly you should not anticipate any problems. I make sure to look at the video once or twice before use to make sure I don't screw up and forget a step. That could be a disaster. Does not take long AT ALL to install and put your bike on after you have used it a few times. I'm done within 10 to 15 mins now that I use it regularly.
