I purchased a 2023 Kona SEL with Convenience package. I am a former Tucson owner and downsized into the Kona. The hatch space is a little small, but overall the car has a ride that is very similar to the ride of the Tucson. The Kona's ride is very quiet on the inside and it has plenty of power. It's a nice little car. gas mileage is excellent. I'd say right now I have been getting about 35 to 37 miles per gallon on the freeway and 30 to 32 miles per gallon on the surface streets. I also love the parking. This little guy will fit into any space.

Great video! I usually end up keeping my vehicles for 3-5 years. I've talked to many Hyundai Kona owners/drivers (all of them are very happy with their Kona's). I went into a local Hyundai dealership wanting to buy the Kona N line. But they only had a Kona N (on display). So I took it for a test drive. I have never driven a vehicle that had all of the driving assist/safety features, I was very surprised how well they all worked. For me, I was very comfortable in the drivers seat and I do not need anything larger. I ended up special ordering the vehicle. The nice thing is, I ended up getting a 2023 model (fully loaded and with a 2 tone color choice). I can't wait to get it and drive it.
@@kimberlystokes663 Hello Kimberly, as I said I went in to order a 2022, but was upgraded to a 2023 model. The vehicle listed on Hyundai (Canadian site) with the ultimate package lists for $36549.00 (approx.). To order the vehicle it is a $500.00 deposit.
@@marcinszymczak8657 Honestly, I don't know what is new or improved in the new 2023 model. I've seen or heard rumors of some minor changes/improvements (the exterior looks slightly different, the vehicle is slightly longer/wider?, etc.). But these are simply rumors and nothing has been verified by Hyundai. The dealership did tell me that the 2023 model will be almost exactly the same as the 2022 model (from their knowledge). If there are some minor changes, I don't think it will affect my buying decision. I am planning on doing a video of the new vehicle and will be happy to answer any questions (once I get it).
I just bought a 2020 Kona and I'm really happy with it. It does give you enough power to gain speed and merge on the highway/interstate. It gets better gas mileage than other SUV's. I had a 2016 Volvo XC60 and traded it in for this. I think I made an excellent decision since the Volvo was on the verge of breaking down with no warranty or coverage and high expenses. German cars are great until they break and then they turn into very large paperweights if you're not rich enough to fix them out of pocket. I'm not rich. 💸 Enough said! The Kona was an awesome choice for me. It still carried some of the original warranty and since I got it from Carvana it had their 100 day warranty as well. 😁 Too bad they don't cover key fobs! That was over $300. 😭 And I have to replace the 2 rear tires for some reason. 🤷 Other than those 2 things, which are just flukes, the car is one of my better decisions. Only choosing to walk through my life with Jesus day by day, minute by minute, was a more excellent idea. I only pray 🙏😇 everyone could be so blessed with reliable transportation and a solid relationship with Jesus! God bless everyone who reads my review- Jenn
Thank you very much Shari! I like how informative and neutral you are to us auto-industry consumers. I agree with you about the engine problems that you mentioned at around 14:10 ; this is why people tend to lease Hyundais and Genesis rather than finance them. It's better to own these flashy cars briefly rather than long-term and have to deal with such mechanical problems that Hyundai has been experiencing since 2015. Nonetheless, happy new year to you and keep up the great work!
There is a trade off between the two. The Seltos provides some more rear and cargo space than the Kona, but the tradeoff is acceleration and handling which is better with the Kona.
@@BkBk-gy6vr you’re correct. Kona is better than seltos! Qiet, driving smoothly and better looking🎃🎃🎃. Just bought 2023 Kona limited. Very happy with this trim!
Your review of the Kona emphasises the critical shortage of space; the very reason I, in the UK purchased the Ultimate. Its 1800 mm width allows it to fit into my 2100mm garage, and here on our island, this is the standard width for 75% of garages. Cars are getting wider, and thus most cars are never garaged. I find the 2022 Kona very smooth and easy to drive. The only huge complaint I have is that the steering wheel keeps turning to the left. It's done this I leased it June, 2021. It has 3600 miles on it and I take it in for service every 4-months. I had 3-Elantras before this and they too pulled to the left. It's very upsetting this issue hasn't been fixed by constant alignments and wondering if anyone else has these issues.

I considered a Kona limited this fall. A lot of bang for the buck, but the hatch space is too small for road trips so went another way. Another problem was the Hyundai dealers in my area were totally unreasonable about additional dealer markup, ruining the main selling point of the brand - value for money.
