I didn't know the actual 92220 Evening Star was ever fitted with the Crosti boiler??... the manual says "9F Crosti Boiler"..is this accurate? Was this loco ever a "crosti"? is it now (as preserved) a Crosti? thanks!
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BR_Standard_Class_9F_92020-9 seems they weren't??? So what are the facts? Why does the pamflet say Crosti? and why is the only TSS option a Crosti?
@@wapphigh5250 Nothing of serious concern the models both the 9f and crostini versions are mechanically identical so Hornby use the same manuals its really as simple as that. 🙂
@@theengineshed359 I was more concerned about the TTS sound file.. people are asking about the r8113 - but that is a Crosti file... they might be mechanically similar, but there is no way they would have sound the same IMO.. Then again Hornby doesn't produce a real sound for the proper Evening Star 9F even though there are still a couple non Crosti's running...go figure..
So I am going to wait for the new tooling Evening Star coming out soon and get a half decent decoder, speaker and a sound file recorded off an actual Non Crosti 9F... (The Black Prince or 92212)...
Can anyone tell me will the Hornby - R8113 - TTS Sound Decoder: Crosti Class 9F Decoder fit inside the Centenary Edition "Evening Star" please?
Absolutely the tender socket for the decoder allows plenty of room for that decoder!
@@theengineshed359 Thanks so much!
I just received this model....so hard to get
A good buy rusty! little annoying that they are retooling the model now but still an exceptional performer!
