Metroid completed as fast as possible without holding back, and without concern for the game's sanity.
The8bitbeast ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/T... ) improves the previous publication ( tasvideos.org/1144M ) by 21.94 seconds, thanks to better optimisation and new tricks. Please read the author's comments ( tasvideos.org/5858S ) for more details.
The run uses a game restart sequence (Up+A on the second controller) to save time in backtracking.

It's the Low Energy alarm integrated in the Power Suit to warn Samus she's about to die
Imagine beings Mother Brain and seeing Samus run into your chamber on the brink of death, thinking "oh she's done lol", and watching her basically dodge raindrops as she maneuvers around all of your defences, instantly destroying anything in her path with an unending stream of missiles.
According to Zero Mission, that's canonically how Samus killed Mother Brain and most of the bosses in Planet Zebes, she's very powerful for being a human

That's because he's the boss with the most health, Mother Brain doesn't have much health, but there are 1000+ obstacles to hit her, so it's also impossible

When you have been assigned to save the whole galaxy but you have company at your house in 10 minutes.
Planet Zebes is still not the only planet on the galaxy, the Space Pirates also have other planets. The thing with the Metroids was solved in Metroid 2, the thing with the Space Pirates, Ridley and Mother Brain was solved in Super Metroid, but... For some reason a virus was growing in SR-388, which was solved in Metroid Fusion... Or was it?

What just happened? I saw Samus running around, performing bizarre teleportation rituals. The next thing I knew she destroyed Mother Brain.

I guess Samus don't need her spacesuit in space at the end.
1. The "spacesuit" has a name: Power Suit
2. She doesn't need a spacesuit to breath in space, she is half alien bird
3. In Metroid Zero Mission, you literally have to play as Zero Suit Samus, which is basically Samus without her Power Suit
4. The only reason she uses the Power Suit is because she can't do anything in her Zero Suit, so she either doesn't do anything or uses the (uncomfortable) Power Suit

How do they respawn to go back to the beginning of the area after killing Kraid or getting the ice beam? Reset button?
Quick Death, a button combo can kill you quickly, giving you your game password, to continue later, when you enter the password, you always begin at the beginning of the area, with 30 Energy
If you want to know more, search "Quick Death trick NES" or something, the trick is in every NES game

She got injured in the acid, thus turning invisible, but jumping on top of the enemy and then jumping while turning to a ball and passing through the opening.
You can't see her because she is invisible in that moment, but what happened:
She freezes the Rio (the fly-like enemy)
She jumps to the enemy
She jumps to the left door while turning a ball to pass through
She is carried to Tourian (where the final boss is)
In a normal game, you would:
Kill Kraid and Ridley
Come here and shoot at the two statues of the bosses
Turn a ball to go through a little bridge to the left door
Get carried to Tourian (where the final boss is)
Ahhh 8 bit bathing suit lol

I like the glitches in these runs but I don’t like the resets. It’s lazy. It seems like a cheat too. Play it in one go!

Welcome to the future
Speedrun is completing the game as fast as possible (in the other categories, there are also other twists), and if there's a way to just warp to the credits, the speedrunners will ABUSE IT
Categories:
Any% is a normal speedrun, completing the game as fast as possible
100% is 100% completing the game as fast as possible, of course, using glitches to warp to the upgrades, bosses and secrets
Low% is completing the game as fast as possible with the less amount of upgrades
0% is not grabbing anything, and completing the game with nothing
NoMajorGlitches% is just completing the game as normal, but as fast as possible, in this category, you can't warp to the credits, if the game is linear, Any% will sometimes be the same as NoMajorGlitches%
There can be even more categories depending on the game, and there can be meme speedruns, like DiscordMod%, where you have to touch grass and talk to a real woman as fast as possible (yeah, this is a thing)

This is great but damn that low energy beep alert is fucking annoying. It ranks up there with yoshis island when baby Mario is stolen and you hear it cry. It actually made me not want to have a child ha.
Thank GOD it wasn't the entire run, like it usually is. And, yes, I completely agree. People running Metroid with the low health beep playing the whole time is MISERABLE.
