Wow, Kosmic :) Thanks, it was my first TAS, and I don't know much about what has to be considered to reduce time, but I hope you liked it ;) Thanks for viewing and commenting!
@@zSwingMann37this is debatable because of the time all the time it takes to go down the pipe and I am assuming that you would go onto the top of the bricks possibly. If it does save time I’m betting it would only save a handful of frames.
he may be acorn brain but you should see his skills not only can he play condiments he can speedrun super mario brothers for the nintendo entertainment system without getting coins
@@zSwingMann37 well yeah you could technically could improve that, but i mean if you practiced enough you could potentially get a WR because waiting for that bullet bill you lost a few seconds and i am sorry if i wasnt clear earlier but i meant a WR of a no coin speedrun
Manipulating Mario's X position (subpixels). In real time, players must press the d-pad down while Mario runs, so the subpixels are manipulated and that jump can be achieved.
For being my first TAS, I see it as perfect. Well, as for level 1-1 there is an improvement in the underground. Level 8-1 is perfect, because you have to manipulate the subpixels to avoid grabbing the coin (like in the video thumbnail).
@@DJIncendration manipulate subpixels with a 1 frame right release (not 100% sure if it's a right release or b release) somewhere and a 1 frame jump followed by a frame perfect left press to clip into the base of the pip

@@zSwingMann37 You can actually take the pipe in 1-1 without collecting a coin, by doing a double walljump. That's the main thing I know of
lol, i came to the comments to say this.
Niftski nails it again
Surely yes, his record is 4:58.84, while this one is 4:57.02. I think it can be reduced even more, if 1-1 walljumps are made in the underground.

@@COIN_LuigiPres1This shit's a TA.
1:09 mario blj's the whole level
this is sick! always wondered if this was possible or not
Super Mario Bros but Mario is allergic to coins
1:13 MY ANXIETY HERE
Really good first tas:)
Thanks 😁
Patrick is good at speedrunning
Hahaha

This is excellent ❤🎉
i wouldn't validate this run right away, looks like a tas but I'm not sure
Yes, it is a TAS, it is not executed by a person in real time, the title shows that. ;)
he could prob get the world record if you perfected your flag pole glitch without the bullet bill on 8-2
overalll really really good job
I think the only way to gain time is in the underground part of the 1-1 through a wall-jump, from then on there is no way.

bravo hacı
2:37 WHAT
They are L/R inputs (but not pressed at the same time). The reason is to manipulate the subpixels in such a way that the coin in front is not grabbed.
@@zSwingMann37i think he meant the walljump
No way how did you do that😮
epic
Man you don't know it's possible to clip into the wall under the coins and save a few seconds? Like it can be done without l+r so it's RTA rules
If I knew it, I tried it, but I must optimize the fast access more to save more time.
How do you not fall at 2:38? That looks sus.

Search for wall jump in super mario bros. Its the same technique used in the 8-4 pipe.
Hmm 8-1 thumbnail
Ye.
Lol lightning 4-2
basically not going into the underground in 1-1
+ a slowdown in 8-1

I think its fake
It is not played by anyone, this run is through tool assistance (TAS, Tool-Assisted Speedrun).
