    I think for those who want to quit the game and not feel nostalgic or suicidal, a good way to integrate smart in your life the meaning of life, is to read the books, and not play the game ever, otherwise you always go back and It can ruin your life this addiction. but to be honest like everyone else out there, this game was a substitute to every bad thing in society, literary saved lives, some people dropped careers and people to sink in this game for lifetimes to the point of dying, it s really unique, very strange but in a good way.

    Day of the Dragon was my first Warcraft novel, so it will always have a special place in my heart, but I do admit that from the point of the overall story it's kind of skippable. War of the Ancients were the first books I read in english, so they're very special to me as well. I always return to them when I feel down, and I'm still mad that Legion retconned much of what was established in them about Illidan and Malfurion. In Legion, we're told that Illidan was always overshadowed by his brother and that's why he did what he did. In the books, it was actually the other way around - Illidan was seen as the Chosen One and he was a magical prodigy, while Malfurion's powers took much longer to develop. Illidan's desperation came from the place of realizing that he can't achieve all that he wants despite all his power. Even the reason he was so angry that Tyrande fell in love with his brother and not him was that he was convinced that Malfurion just wasn't powerful enough to protect her.

    I've got an ESL student who is about ready to start reading at a YA level. It's been hard for me to find materials that he likes, but I thought maybe since he's crazy about computer games, maybe he might like something like this. Can you recommend anything from the series, or perhaps the Starcraft series, that would be easy(ish) to follow for an English learner? He has a decent vocabulary.

    • @DeesNerds
      @DeesNerds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that Arthas would be a great one to start with! I think the storyline was mostly straightforward and so so good. And if he knows the games at all, the characters would definitely be familiar. Rise of the Horde and The Last Guardian are also really good ones!

    So I assume Tides of Darkness and Beyond the Dark Portal basically retell their namesake games - do any of these do that for Orcs and Humans and Reign of Chaos or is playing those the only way to fill in that part of the story?

    • @DeesNerds
      @DeesNerds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The story of Orcs and Humans is basically the storyline of The Last Guardian, and Reign of Chaos would be told in Arthas. I really love both of those books! Hope this helps!

    • @MagusMarquillin
      @MagusMarquillin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DeesNerds OK. Just seems like if Arthas Book is from Arthas/Litch King's perspective it's not really going to cover the whole story to the extent the game does, though it probably covers the Human and Undead campaigns pretty well. Thanks for the reply.
