While over pronouncing Asuka 😂 (you can think of the s sound as "removing" the u, although by saying it like that you are technically pronouncing it, it's just very subtle for our Western ears) I'm actually studying Japanese to become fluent for future job opportunities (although I'm still a weeb lol)
John not realizing how often girls call their bestie when anything happens in their life is hilarious😂 if someone was stalking me id also call my friend every time there was an update
I like the attention to detail with the references to The Closing Shift characters. Senpai takes your order, the stalked girl is behind him, James is the "no need to nihongo jouzu me" guy that was there when the hoodie guy was looking in the window, the 2 girls are from the trio that sat inside talking about the weirdo outside and the mopey guy in the corner is a colleague of the detective that was killed.
I love how Chilla's Art games capture the paranoid feeling really well. By introducing the stalker aspect so early in the game, it had us questioning intentions and being suspicious of everyone we were coming into contact with. The janky poly-resolution also adds to the unsettling feeling of the NPCs.
When Rikiya texts the photo of Asuka talking to the hoodie guy I was immediately like "SO WHAT? What does that picture prove? All it proves is that your ex is hanging out around your apartment taking pictures of your best friend, like a creep." I liked this game a lot.
Why arms so high poly? I'm glad you asked! That scattered triangle effect is a common artifact of using automatic poly-reduction on a super high-poly sculpted model. That process works by segmenting the surface shape into bigger triangles, keeping the overall form as similar to the sculpt as possible. It's quick and easy, but leaves really messy and inefficient geometry. Typically, an artist would rebuild a low-poly model by hand using the high-poly model as a base, but given Chilla's output, it's very likely they skip that practice and just rely on automated tools.
@@JohnTwolfeThe channel descriptions threw me off at first until I actually went in and saw the content. Lol This one is still be advertised as your minimal effort shitposting channel while the other is your games channel. Unless that is intentional!
just a small note ::: the jingle 41:55 you heard means the water is ready. the automatic water heater is the thing that stick to the walls outside your bathroom so you can easily set the temperature while doing other chores and it's safer for the heater system. 01:21:03 :::: picking flowers in Japanese is euphimism for wanting to use the toilet. 28:02 i think these 2 girls are the same girls in the Night Shift (the one who ordered caramel macchiato) but they were 3 girls, not 2. the one girl is still shaming their friend after years they never meet tho. what a shame.
@22:55 Funny you mention this, I'm an audio engineer that mixes live sound majority of the time. I like to have other skillsets on the side so I decided to understand sound design and implementation when it comes to games. I recently ran into how you do this in the unreal engine. Anything sound related has to be "territorial." Where you're walking, it's basically a mask that--of course, the player cannot see. So the moment you touch the railing, you're entering a new region. Likely it's an oversight or a situation where the creator doesn't really run into until a player notices this little detail. It's just these minor details tend to fall off when it comes to indie creators. Then it gets more advanced when you set the distance, understand how to make it more realistic when you turn your camera, crossfades, blah blah and sorts.
John talking about video game development/bugs makes me want to see him attempt to make his own horror game with everything he's learned playing them, maybe an entire level of Red Means Scary, with a little bit of Baby Crying and even some hallways that change when you turn around!
Spoilers : In the convenience store part Nina was stalling . She saw the creepy guy outside and was using food as an excuse to stall . She didn’t wanna acknowledge that there was a creepy guy but her subconscious was pretty conscience to reality
There are many cases of stalkers finding out where idols live and assaulting / stabbing them, in one case the stalker was able to find out where the idol lives / commutes home through the reflection in her eyes in her photo posts. So I think they've touched on a very real and possible situation that could happen in Japan.
John playing Chilla’s art games is probably my favorite ongoing thing he does. I love the new content on the second channel, but I’m glad he’s still enjoying these games too. I only watched Gab’s playthrough of this one and couldn’t wait to see John’s takes on it. Love the content!
I had to deal with a stalker once. I met him at work. He was a customer. We talked for about 5min. That same night, he added me on facebook, commented on every single photos (I had a public page at the time) and even sent me private messages, trying to talk to me, telling me things like how pretty I am and how close he felt when we met. I politely told him that I wasn't interested and that I was already married. The guy got super mad...Like scary mad. Calling me a b***h and stuff. I blocked him but he kept making new accounts to get in contact with me. He even contacted my best friend in order to get my home adress ! I thank the univers that she didn't give any info to that creep. I can tell you: I was scared to death.
I'm sorry you had to experience that. I remember meeting a lot of creeps when I worked retail. Harassment and stalking happen a lot in the customer service industry, it's really distressing.
“I don’t know why you can’t call the police” Haha, I mean that wasn’t a real policeman. No real policeman is going to take you AWAY from the police station to take your report and then give you his direct number to contact instead of the official police line in the case of an emergency… Edit: oh, never mind, you just figured it out yourself 😂
I like that Chilla makes sure to connect all storylines in some way. It is clear yheyre in the same universe. Plus, most games show a certain part of society that women have to deal with (stalking, grooming, assault etc). Not all games are top, but I like that theyre connected and it makes it feel like every female character deals with this.
Oh man, you missed the moment where while you were exiting from your front door in the true ending sequence, one of the helpers of Rikiya was standing where you stream, which is a very terrifying image to think about: someone you don't know in your room. One of the scariest things in all honesty. Great content as always!
43:30 for real, when people believe in ghosts it can be so dangerous - if you're experiencing feelings of doom, hallucinations and such, it can be black mould or carbon monoxide. Some people are so convinced it's supernatural forces that they don't even TRY to search for an ordinary culprit. Always eliminate the mundane explanations first, THEN move on to the supernatural
The concept of this game freaks me out more than other chillas games I think because parasocial relationships are a lot more common than random killers stalking you. Fortunately your commentary makes it much easier and more fun to watch. And your habit of always pursuing those dang poofers :)
Hey, John! Love this new channel and your old channel. The new channel to me feels like the old days where I would just watch you play games straight through for hours. I love the new direction of your main or first channel. You're doing great as always ❤️
re: balcony footsteps, I'm a game developer and I don't know for sure either, there are so many areas of knowledge that depend on specialty. In this case an audio person or environment artist may have a better idea but here's my guess; in our engine, sound fx for floors are created by 'audio markup' which means flagging things on a material level to link them to the systems that fire off sounds. That kind of systemic approach makes more sense for a large game where you don't want to do that for every floor. Set the concrete to play concrete steps, now all concrete surfaces in the open world play that sound. For an indie title my guess is its something bespoke like a volume (fancy word for a box that contains something or does something when you interact with it or are inside of it), and the bounds of the volume aren't as wide as the walkway so its possible to walk outside of them and not trigger the noise.
My new favorite game from Chilla's Art. All the reveals at the end of the game made so much after thinking back to the beginning of the game. I love how this game made me paranoid and think very hard.
I've tried doing that lol. But I lost my patience when John hadn't uploaded Chilla's Art playthrough for months, even after the game had been out for long, and decided to watch other streamers playing. Eventually, I just can't. They don't have the same charm that John has
Sassy John is the funniest John! But I’m so happy you’re a father, and it made me smile when you said your mom dropped by. As a single mom with two kids, my parents dropping by is a highlight of the day! I really enjoyed your play through! ❤
It’s so funny how he has a fight (vs flight) response usually, that’s kinda rare tbh- like you can tell he’s boutta attack bc he throws hands at the screen immediately

I watch alot of TH-cam Gamers that my husband doesn't care for but, I showed him your channel saying " I promise you'll love this guy! He's straight up awesome" As a good wife knows her husband, I was absolutely correct 😊. Love your content ❤️
Thanks for taking time to play this! I agree that this is also my favorite one, hits heavy for me because my own sister is a vtubers and myself and her are wary of the dangers of parasocial relationships, and the dangers online content creators, especially women, can face from the most random people in the world.
I absolutely watched the baby video, but I didn't pay attention to anything but your disgustingly adorable daughter. I swear, my heart almost didn't make it.
I'm proud to say I've watched every single one of your videos since I started following you and have loved every single one no matter how "random" it is! This second channel is definitely my favorite of yours. I love long unedited content.
Do we know Chilla's Arts gender? Night Shift and this, my two favorite games from them, (as well as the bath house one) do a good job of tapping into the "horror" of being a woman/femme, imo. "Is that guy staring at me just fucking creepy or should I be worried?" is a thought I have more often than I would like, and Chilla really captures this so well... I don't want to say real life as a woman/femme is exactly like being in a Chilla's Arts game but... it's more similar than you would think.
This is the first Chilla’s art game that truly freaked me out ;-; especially because stalking/home invasion stories really scare me. But I agree, this is definitely one of their best games!
22:45 my guess would be that there is an if statement checking if the character is colliding. I suppose someone wrongly assumed that if you're colliding with some object, you're not moving.
there's something about the vtuber model talking back which is incredibly well executed. i thought we were getting a modern rendition of perfect blue for a second

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for your hard work John! I love watching and listening to your videos while I work or have some free time. It’s so fun visiting older games I played myself (like the Detroit series you do now!) or exploring completely new games like this one! Your voice is also so relaxing to listen to! Thank you for your amazing work!
Two months after posting this video, this is exactly how i found out abt John's new channel 3:00. I was watching an old video from John's main channel and this video was the only one that was recommended for me. I love watching ur gameplay videos!!
John getting defensive about his pronunciation of Nikujaga when he was pronouncing it correctly the whole time is peak John Wolfe
John's relationship with his subscribers never fails to make me laugh. I love his impression of youtube comments
maybe this is what I'm missing from his playthroughs of non-horror games, the defensiveness for no reason lmao
classic Wolfe
While over pronouncing Asuka 😂 (you can think of the s sound as "removing" the u, although by saying it like that you are technically pronouncing it, it's just very subtle for our Western ears)
I'm actually studying Japanese to become fluent for future job opportunities (although I'm still a weeb lol)
It's more like an American thing. Americans just default to saying their pronunciations of things are probably incorrect as to not get flak.
Seeing daylight in a Chilla’s art game is like seeing your teacher at the grocery store.
John not realizing how often girls call their bestie when anything happens in their life is hilarious😂 if someone was stalking me id also call my friend every time there was an update
John having flash backs to the elevator from chillas night delivery lol
that was a good one too
That was a war flashback alright 😂
I think the reason I enjoy watching him play Chilla's Art games is because they always manage to get one solid scare out of him.
I love that Chilla’s Art is creating their on Chilla-verse, and every new game has this type of cool references

It’s so fun visiting older games I played myself (like the Detroit series you do now!) or exploring completely new games like this one! Your voice is also so relaxing to listen to!
Thank you for your amazing work!
This one had me hooked! Usually in Chilla's games I will be intent on watching only parts of it but this one I was on the edge of my seat so to speak
Also, I love your debunking videos
I don’t know if it’s because I’m watching this late at night but this game is scaring the hell out of me on a rewatch lmao
Two months after posting this video, this is exactly how i found out abt John's new channel 3:00. I was watching an old video from John's main channel and this video was the only one that was recommended for me. I love watching ur gameplay videos!!
Glad to see Chilla stepped up their game with this one. This is what we´re with them for
