@@ThatsCoolDude That is how I feel about the Civil war questline too. I wanted a third or even fourth option... the third being to join my brother Alduins' conquest as a Dragonborn embracing his dragon side and the fourth is reopening the Oblivion gates and become a General to one of the Daedric Princes of my choice and join their Hellish crusade to conquer Skyrim in His/Her name... there are many focal points that direct one to thinking there are portals... one in Mehrunes Dagon shrine, another at College of Winterhold and finally Rorikstead... kind of a f-you to the Holy trinity and all of that. The current state of the Civil War questline seem so uneventful and boring.

@@LadyCoyKoi joining alduin would make zero sense
You were made the last dragonborn specifically to kill alduin
Also why tf would alduin accept you?
He's already been betrayed by a dragonborn before and the knowledge that dragonrend exists is far too big a risk to take
Reopening the oblivion gates wouldn't work
If it was that simple the mehrunes dagon would do it himself
Or other followers of his would have already tried in the hundreds of years between oblivion and Skyrim
But hey I guess understanding why certain things wouldn't work is too hard for people and what I've said doesn't even take into consideration the difficulty of actually programming all of that to happen

@@ThatsCoolDude that's my stance on it too, you aren't meant to only search nirnroot, you find them while doing other quests and save up, the crimson nirnroot limit you to an area you can't leave until you finish.

@@ThatsCoolDude Fair enough, but you're still tasked with finding over 3 times as much Nirnroot which takes a lot longer, especially when you have to circle around half the province. Seeking Your Roots Part 2: 59 mudcrabs
Seeking Your Roots Part 3: 39 mudcrabs
I might've buggered that a little, but assume I didn't, you have slain 131 mudcrabs in your quest for Nirnroots. (Skyrim is a little too hard for me to see, so I didn't try to see if any were there.)

I have a mod installed that makes it so that urns have better loot, about equivalent to chests. You can imagine my anger and confusion when the fucking Meridia's Beacon spawned in an urn and I failed to notice.
Side note, I don't actually think either The Break of Dawn or even Bleak Falls Barrow are that bad of quests. The former just has annoying unskippable dialogue and a bullshit final boss for its level, and the latter just becomes tedious for obvious reasons even though it's probably the best dungeon to do at a low level. I actually also enjoyed The Forsworn Conspiracy upon first playing it -- sided with the Forsworn because I hated the Markarth guards already -- but I probably wouldn't do it again. The most immersion breaking part of it is the fact that you don't get to have Forsworn as a whole be friendly towards you afterwards tbh.

    • @ThatsCoolDude
      @ThatsCoolDude  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Those urns must fit a lot of stuff in them with that mod, huh?
Never really disliked The Break of Dawn, Bleak Falls Barrow or even the Conspiacy quest, they just have some annoying aspects to them... a lot of people wrote these in and I already did the "upper echelon" of bad quests, so there's not much more "really awful and sh*t" quests to do.
Completely agree on those Forsworn, Shrimp Dan the man!

The number one flaw of the Forsworn Conspiracy quest: You *have* to get imprisoned in Cidhna Mine. There is no option to just go there yourself, to see what the hub-bub is about, you have to get jailed. Even if you're, like in the video, a powerful vampire lord that wipes the floor of everyone that comes after you, the game still wants you to get arrested. It's complete bullshit.

    Yes Meridia is loud.
Yes the random location of the beacon is annoying.
But the reward, Dawnbreaker, is a great weapon against undead (so all those draugr, skeletons and vampires), and the boss room has lots of gems and gold.
So the quest is very rewarding.
