I'll put some observations in here as I watch this excellent guide. It may take me a while carefully to watch it all (and learn from it, probably!).
- the record button can be used as an "on" button - personally I find it easier to press than the power button. If you have Quickcapture on, of course it also starts recording, as you have shown.
- Direction focus and wind noise reduction settings for audio are both mono. And both are pretty heavily processed sound, so I'd only use them if really essential. I treat "stereo" as the normal setting.
- FOV+ mode - at 21:38 you got that the wrong way round - in default FOV mode you don't get horizon lock but if you choose FOV+ mode, you do get horizon lock in the app because the image is cropped to 2.7K to allow for that. It might be worth putting a correction in the description notes to avoid confusion.
Having got to the end... I think I will watch again to make sure I've not missed any tips! And I'll bookmark it for sure.

I just picked up an Insta360 x3 camera here in the Philippines and this will be a learning experience after years with gopro. Appreciate the tutorial.
You have a huge gap between 30 minutes long clips, in case anyone was wondering. I just recorded a karting race and it`s missing a chunk of a lap. It has a pre-record option but have not used it yet. I wonder if I use it, it will record the gap between the files due to the pre-recording setting. That would be good, but still... just give us a proper camera already!

This is great except the lack of a horizon makes it useless for me. Unless i am missing something.
Hi, how can I remove the Horizon lock in 360 mode. If I explain more my problem, when I turn the airplane upside down or to a vertical etc, horizon should turn so people can see what I’m doing, please let me know quickly as I have flying soon.

where is the app editing guide?
Is there a mode like the Ricoh Theta Z1 Time Shift plugin, where you have the camera on a tripod, take a photo with the lens on one side, then move to the front of the camera and take a photo with the lens on the other side, so that you can get a 360 image without showing the photographer? Basically the photographer hides from one side and takes that pic, then hides from the other side and takes the opposite pic, then they're stitched together as one regular photosphere.

Just bought an X3 camera. A quick question: How do we get the presets of the view modes, such as the reverse tiny planet? I only see five modes (fish head, planet, sphere, window and panorama). Is there a hidden on/off checkbox or a secret keyboard shortcut? By the way, I use a desktop computer. Editing on a tiny phone screen is annoying.

Hi, I just bought mine and I am unable to preview my recently recorded video on my preview menu on the X3 itself. May I ask how do you configure it to be able to play it on the X3?
does it connect to Airpods only or any type of Earbuds? Thank for a great video.
Not sure about this but I’ve only ever seen it used with AirPods
Would this be a big upgrade in terms of video quality from the original one X?
Yeah it has a bigger sensor so it should have better dynamic range, low light, less noise etc. you’ll find the quality will be much improved.
