true but I want to have fans u know Sorry If I am being selfish But does my dream count real If I want to have fans and be fame? I also want to go on concerts etc
Let's make clear. Asians are NOT same. There are vast cultural and racial differences among Asians. BUT EAST Asians and some Thais have been in Kpop industry for long time now. NON-East Asians will have enormous difficulties entering into Kpop industry for many reasons.
True Asia is really large and ranges from East Asians to middle easterners which is technically west Asia and there are soo many differences among them (I’m Middle Eastern myself and I do get a lot of questions about if I’m half Japanese or Korean by friends and even my half Malaysian friend asked me that question when I first met her, and I of course don’t take it as an insult. And personally I’m not interested in becoming an artist despite these questions I get)
@@jessicafxn1694 singaporeans are either chinese or malay. Chinese, as an East Asian ethnic group just like koreans are, have strong chance. Well there are already many chinese in kpop industry.
@Peace Dream you are right. But hollywood had the biggest star in 70s who was East Asian. His name is Bruce Lee, who was at his prime the biggest star in hollywood. Those non-korean Kpop stars all fit in korean beauty standard AND look East Asian. Manchu people are in fact almost Korean, they look very similar to Korean.

It's not just long hours of singing and dancing. There's much more than that. Acting, language class, they even teach you how to dress up, how to handle media, how to communicate with fans, produce songs, writing lyrics, compose music. That is why kpop star is all-round entertainer
Yea, at first i wasn't aware of that but trainees have classes about everything : how to talk on the radio ; how to pronounce english words ; ect .. ! It's so much work
Yea.. your right they're are all around entertainment and even they good at sports and go on world tour that's not a stressful job even am trying to audition that's a enjoying job 👍🏻
I can be a Kpop cuz I’m from South Korea and I go in Kpop forced school it’s only for people how don’t have family’s and I don’t have to take audition to beacome Kpop cuz I go in Kpop forced school not simple but not hard my name is KimLisa banga woyu
people in the comments section do need a reality check though...if you're not even at least half asian there is no chance of becoming an idol so yeah...
Ikr, theres people in their comments supporting them which isn’t a bad thing totally but they need to face the hard truths which is that they won’t possibly become a kpop idol.

Being an idol is a really unattainable career. I know there are a lot of people who want to be an idol but don't just do it because you like Kpop or you want to get close to your oppars or unnies. *Do it because you genuinely have a passion for the Kpop industry.* Do it, if you are willing to work years maybe even decades to achieve your dream and make huge sacrifices.
Honestly I am. I don't really care if I ever get to meet my faves but ik that I just wanna perform. I love doing it and I LOVE music and I might audition and also I'm Asian
I’m Hispanic and I wanna have a group and sing and dance but I don’t wanna train to be a kpop idol yk? Like idk if I can be in a group but not a kpop group but idk where they can take that
Everyone wants to be a kpop idol, which is cool n all. I have nothing against it but them korean industry gonna bash u down. You're gonna do the unspeakable things you've never thought these kpop idol HAVE TO DO. There's gonna be rules, high diet, not getting paid most of the time n ect😔Everything might seem glitter n glamor till they drop ur contract. EDIT: I love the determination that some of you commented but to be really honest, some of it sounds very ignorant and stubborn. I'm not saying you should not proceed your dream of being an kpop idol but all I'm giving is warning signs, hints, and etc. You doing research is not gonna help you feel, see, or go through that process of you becoming an idol. This is not a 9 to 5 job kind of thing. You hear stories from actual idol of their experience of what they went through just to be an idol. You even hear or see that some of these idol are taking their OWN LIVES due to stress, overwhelming, being pressured, and etc for crying out loud. Some of them even moved outta south korea and lives in different states due whatever reason, they had. Plus the most stupidest thing, I've ever heard was that Hyuna and E'Dawn were fired from their management industry due to them falling in love and announcing their relationship publicly. All these flashing cameras and fans is great feeling but behind close door is another different story. Just because they are celebrity, idol, models, and etc... Don't mean IT'S GONNA BE EASY. They may have it all but lord knows they struggle with something that they're not telling anyone about. You wanna kick rocks... be my guest but I won't be surprised that another celebrity, idol or whatever had died due to this and that.
im pretty sure most ppl wanting to become kpop idols know about this, tbh i don't see the point in signing up if it isn't grueling and crushing, surely that's a good thing no?

To those wanting to pursue this career, I understand your dreams and ambitions but take a look into the industry before you decide to push for this particular dream. Pursuing a K-pop career has it's perks but they basically only come AFTER fame. Companies are known to be very bias, money suckling, restrictive and even prejudice towards their trainees. There is a reason you haven't seen international k-pop groups or members blow up like BTS, RED VELVET, MAMAMOO or etc. If you're darker, non-korean, a bit bigger, not pretty enough and etc you risk a very high chance of experiencing judgment and bias in this industry. Why do you think the entirety of EXO-M (aside from lay) backed out from the Korean industry? They all filed for human rights violation lawsuits and were very open about the prejudice they faced and bias SM had for the Korean members. The form of training they go through, we as international fans would call abuse. Many don't stay in the industry for long after experiencing that first hand. If you wan't a music career make one for yourself, you'll make far more money that way (because these companies are known to put trainees in debt and take up to 70% of their earnings.) and won't have to go through this grueling process. The music industry in general is always looking for fresh new ideas and music so you as an aspiring artist can become one wherever you reside.
By making your own music career, do you mean not signing with a company? I'm a bit confused but this seems like solid advice. I mean, id love producing my own music anyways

Some of y’all in the comments need a reality check ... being an idol isn’t easy work, especially if ure a foreigner. The trainee system is extremely difficult and tortuous, if u actually want to be an idol, make sure you’re absolutely serious about this. Remember that the kpop industry is extremely corrupted and is already saturated enough with new groups debuting every week so your success as a kpop idol is based on luck or if u happen to be in a big company. The kpop idol life isn’t as dreamy and nice as you think it is. Edit: LORD u mfs in the Comments are so fucking deluded to the fact that the kpop industry is a corrupted and toxic space that profits off of manufactured visuals and appearances, as well as the dehumanization of people. My god. To put it blunt, if ure not Asian, and not just that, if ure fucking ugly, don’t try in an industry where you don’t even compare. If ure this passionate about “pErfOrming” and “siNginG” then go make it big in your home country instead of taking away chances from actual talented people. I know damn well you’re not actually wanting to become a singer or a dancer, you want to be a kpop idol solely because you’re under the impression that this industry is all fairy tales and sunshine, get ur head out of the fucking gutter and find a new goal in life instead of wanting to meet ur little oppars and unnirs. Edit 2: STOP EMBARASSIMG URSELF IN MY REPLIES PLZ 😭😭😭😭 just bc there was a few non Asian idols doesn’t mean u can be one !!! Most of these non Asian idols are literally flops FLOPS😭😭 nobody cares bro go get an education and study or smtn nobody cares Edit 3: Listen I rlly dc if yall non Asians become idols, I stated an opinion and it’s an opinion, meaning not everyone will agree. @hey the kpop industry affects mental health as well, it’s not just about the physical aspect. there’s been numerous idols who’ve committed suicide due to the the toll of being a kpop idol.
@hey I never said that ballet dancers and gymnasts don’t have a bad mental health .... the industries are literally similar in aspects of practice hours, diets, body image, etc. this isn’t a competition to see which people in these industries get treated worse... why are you so mad
Fatou replied to a comment that asked her if she can become an idol despite her skin tone and she said yes if you ignore haters and go towards your dream. Reality wise I probably wouldn’t be brave enough to audition and would probably stick to my original dream of opening a dance studio in Korea. Either way, it doesn’t hurt to try.
As an ex trainee, the only thing i can say is... If you have talent and passion, you're gonna make it Btw i dropped out because i didn't had any money :/
Don't get me wrong,I am pretty sure your company wasn't big3 or BIGHIT..or cube I can say. Only these companies can handle foreigners... And they don't take fees (Sorry for being rude)

To become a kpop idol you need to be mentally and physically STRONG you need to be prepared to sacrifice everything in your life plus you will have absolutely no control over your life your every step will be watched by millions n one wrong step will ruin your whole life on top of that there is no guarantee how long your group would last... God.. It's awful.. These trainees literally gamble their life to debut... thousands of trainees but only few of them make it.. I have never dreamt of becoming a kpop star seeing what goes behind the scene.. We only see the glamour on screen but it's a whole another story behind those screens.. Make sure that you can really endure all of this if you really want to become a kpop star
I hate to break it to ya'll,but you have a 0.0000001% chance of debuting and being successful as an idol, debuting as a korean is already super hard, and it will be harder for non east Asians/non south east Asians,And not to mention that if you get accepted into a company, you will be in huge dept later on. Because training someone to become kpop idol is not easy or cheap, and the company pays for EVERYTHING for your food, rent, transportation, school, your debut, comebacks,a comeback can cost you around hundreds of thousands of dollars, and a debut can cost up to millions of dollars, and ofcourse they pay the lessons that you get to train, and you have to pay that back to the company after you debut. You pay them back by making album sales and Merch sales, the company will take around 80% of the money you make, they take the money to pay your dept, and this process continues for years until you later on disband, if your lucky and you became famous, you will be able to pay that dept, but if you were unknown as an idol, you have to pay the company after you disband
@@hono_moo433 A lot of people aren't like that, but they don't realize that by not being asian/looking asian, their chances are instantly incredibly close to zero

@G-Taehyung I think the reason people look to kpop vs, their own countries is because it’s easier to visualize their dream. Like in America I have no idea how to make it big. You don’t become a trainee or anything. In Korea it’s easier to wrap your head around because you know you have to audition and debut. But anyways I don’t wanna become a pop star at all so idk much about the actual process for any country.
i mean I'm not an expert but the american industry is so hard to get into. I mean there's talent show (american idol, agt, etc) but those are rigged. it's hard to get signed to. you have to be pretty talented or make some viral song to make it big

Tbh, I think THIS is something that Koreans and their industry need to decide and us as foreigners can’t. That said, if non Asians manage to get past the auditions, and into the trainee stage and all that, they’ll have a lot more to deal with, like the intense criticism and knets commenting on everything from their looks to how they speak and all that. they wont accept anyone that looks different or someone that doesnt fit the beauty standards of korea. all of these comments of all these kids saying they wanna be a k-pop star but aren't korean...i hate to break it to you, but no matter how hard you try and determined you are, you most likely never make it. and even if you become a trainee, there is a low chance you will even debut. many koreans who train for years never make it, so you most likely won't either.

I'm like 100% European and idc, I'm learning, improving myself, training hard and I'll audition next year 😅 UPDATE: Still holding onto my words, I'm learning, exercising, dancing, and not actually singing but I started writing short songs, don't give up guys ❤️❤️ 2nd UPDATE: I've started dancing a lot for those 6 months, and I've gotten much better. I'd love to be a dancer now, that I think of it. AND I think it's great that I decided I wanna be a dancer. I'm really thankful that I haven't stoped training myself because of people telling me that a non Asian can't get into kpop. If I wouldn't want to be an Idol, I probably wouldn't learn that singing, writing and dancing is an amazing hobby for me, even if I'm not that great at one or another. (I'm still going to audition thouh, see you in an audition ubdate after next 6 months lmao) Guys after you'll all be kpop stars, hire me as your backup dancer pls 🙏
@Hirai Momo I know but if I won't try to complete my dreams I'll feel bad with not even trying. If I won't get trough any auditions then I'll just pass but if somebody will believe in it that I can make it into Kpop then I think trying won't be a bad idea even if there will be a lot of hate. Eventually some 'complete forgeiner' will make it there. ☺️
This is just my opinion As an Asian I have had racist comments all my life and hated my race. For an Asian group to finally thrive and be popular it’s like a dream come true. Which is why I don’t want non Asians to join. This feels like a community that is ours and no one else’s. Whilst people can admire I don’t think they should join.
My best friend and I both have been practicing together for days, week, even months and we dream to make it into the kpop industry! I hope more into the future there is a chance of non Asians to enter without being called kboo or get discriminated by everyone. Good luck to those who will audition!
i love being blasian.. but man it sucks sometimes I don’t think I could get in something like this because I am on the darker side but I will try and see what happens!
Edit: I have seen a lot of comments saying that people like us have an unrealistic dream, and they're right. I am well aware of that but I really have no other purpose in life tbh. I'd rather put all my effort than let my life go to waste. My race isn't accepted almost anywhere, so I might as well go big or go home. Also I am not a koreaboo, I am proud of my own race and don't have any plans on changing that. I’ve been intrigued by the Kpop industry ever since I was 7 and I dream of debuting as an idol... the problem is that I’m Native American and trans. I know I’d face tons of hate for that, but I’d be willing to power through it. I want to use music to speak up about issues I’ve experienced or seen. I want to be able to help people that have gone through similar experiences as me. I’m almost 13 and , until I turn 15, I will train myself. I will work hard to improve my singing, rapping, and dancing so I can increase my chances. If I don’t make it, at least I tried and I will continue to train myself and push myself to become a singer. I'm more in it for the company because it offers a lot of benefits that I wouldn't be able to reach with just the help from my family. However I do have a backup plan of starting a group with others that are similar to me, so don't worry if the plan doesn't work out. Also, I'm not too comfortable with saying my gender identity so I will be performing as my birth sex (female)
Me too! I’m latino and transgender so it might be hard for me. But I will train myself and improve my dancing. As well as improving my rapping! I’ve always wanted to be an idol and i’m determined to make that dream come true
Why not just set up international pop group organizations? Rather than having to be Asian and be able to speak Korean, just be a performing group representing the country you’re from. Following the formula of Kpop, each country can set up their own artist groups. As time progresses, we might even get a pop olympics.
The video isn’t working, but from comments I’ve seen Personally I don’t see anything wrong with a non-Asian being in the kpop industry. I’ve seen people saying we have our own industry, but remember there are Asians in it. Maybe it’s harder for them to be in it, but it’s harder for non-Asians to be in the kpop industry as well. All the hate non-Asians get in the industry is stupid to me.
Sunshine what’s funny to me is that koreans are in the western industry too so why can’t non koreans do kpop as well? i find it so odd that someone can’t debut as a kpop idol because they don’t look asian enough. also they have english parts in their songs so the non koreans could easily get those lines or learn the language... it doesn’t make sense to me. people get so much hate if they say they wanna become kpop idols
not only that, but it’s hard to make it in the western industry. like in korea you can audition to be a part of an entertainment and it’s not like that in america
Im non Asian and im Polynesian but raised in new Zealand. I want to audition for a kpop entertainment but im scared of what Korean people would think of me.
If your ever planning on being a Kpop Idol please don't do it just for Blackpink or because your a fan of one of the bands. You have to know what your going to experience.
To be honest, I want to be an idol. But I gave up on my Dream because I know I’ll never be accepted by the public. People hate Lana, EXP, Kachii, etc because there not Asian. It’s hypocritical but true
Well ngl if u can’t handle or be ready for that type of stuff u aren’t ready it’s nice u wanna be an idol but if u wanna do it u have to be ready for dieting, practicing, sleeping for 2-4 hours every day and racism or discrimination if ur a foreigner. A lot of Koreans/Asians get enough hate so imagine us foreigners but if/when ur ready u should try !
People only hate Kaachi because they aren’t a K-Pop group. K-Pop is an industry of music in Korea. Not a genre. If they didn’t debut or train at an actual K-Pop company, they’re just western pop with badly pronounced Korean.
@@imiasf1933 Yea, they have potential and definitely pretty good vocals. The company they work for just doesn’t know how to properly train the Kaachi girls to their full potential. And the way their company styles them? Heck, I think I could do a better job. Some of y'all need a reality check. The K-Pop industry is a way to give ASIANS a spot light. Not people who aren't. If you want to sing, dance, rap, and so on you can join a western group with INSPIRATION of kpop. Y'all saying "I want to grow up to be a K-Pop idol" are not seeing beyond that. Thank you. Today I read an article about what kidols do after their contract has ended and mostly their careers just fail . After all the hard work when the contract is over they are just dumped in the world by companies, it kind of made me realize that I'm chasing a very shallow dream . After your comment , I really thought about it and I figured that I'm going to be a popstar, as in american pop, that too isn't the best but it faar better than kpop and it's actually attainable without literally giving away years of my life and I can be with my family too.

Kpop companies are NOT going to take Non-Asians. If they do take Non-Korean Asians, then they’re going to pick people who can pass as Korean or fit Korean beauty standards. They’re just not going to take Black, White, Hispanic, etc people. They’re not that appealing to Korean audiences meaning the company would be losing money by accepting them. If your not Asian, trying to be a Kpop star is a huge waste of time and money. The woman in the video who is training those Non-Koreans so that they can audition for Kpop companies is scamming those people, she is taking their money knowing that Korean companies won’t accept them.
Your comment is the best here. It's just fact. It has less to do with the K-pop industry and more to do with a culture. An entire culture is not just going to change their beauty standards.
Im a Mexican-American with NO asian blood on me but im willing to work hard and achieve my dream!! I can dance, sing, and rap a little so ill try to audition in the future! Lets all do it together!!!

Alexandria Reid is mixed race not black. She said her mother is (either) half black and white or just black. But her father is white. So she's either 75% white and 25% black or 50/50. She's still mixed either way. Blackswan has a black girl in the group called "Fatou" who is Senegalese French.
I don't think y'all know what kpop idols actually go through. I would never put my child through that. I wouldn't even let teenage kid do that. Poor kids fr.
To be an idol it doesn't matter what some people think, what matters is you following your dream. I'm mixed with black, white and idian and though i look some what asian i still don't look exactly like them but that isn't going to stop me and it should stop you either
Some things you should know. If you aren’t Asian or Korean you need to at least look like it. If you can’t dance, you need to practice. If you can’t sing, practice. If you don’t look cute/handsome/hot/pretty, you most likely won’t get it. If you don’t have confidence, you have a slim chance, try gaining confidence. If you don’t speak Korean, learn. You need to know everything important about being a kpop idol, consequences, diet, life style, schedule. If you’re only trying to be one for fame and fans, don’t attempt. You need to be skilled at dancing and singing. You need to be nice and have a good personality/attitude, if not then you probably won’t get it, you need to be a peoples person. A lot of you may disagree with some of these but I’ve done my research and it’s all true. I’m not saying you won’t make it and that you won’t become an idol, I’m simply just saying some requirements that I know of, keep in mind it’s extremely hard to become a kpop idol. follow your dreams and stay on top of everything. Do what makes you happy.

I'm with you!! I'm transgender and Caucasian but it's my dream to become a K-pop idol, hopefully the industry will open up to us with enough hard work

Why not just set up international pop group organizations? Rather than having to be Asian and be able to speak Korean, just be a performing group representing the country you’re from. Following the formula of Kpop, each country can set up their own artist groups. As time progresses, we might even get a pop olympics.

Personally I don’t see anything wrong with a non-Asian being in the kpop industry. I’ve seen people saying we have our own industry, but remember there are Asians in it. Maybe it’s harder for them to be in it, but it’s harder for non-Asians to be in the kpop industry as well. All the hate non-Asians get in the industry is stupid to me.
yeah and when non koreans says that non koreans shouldn't be in kpop is just funny because it shows that they are fetishizing koreans.

*My best friend is blasian. And she really wants to be a kpop idol. So I am glad that she can become one in the future!*
I think the right title for the video is “YOU ARE NOT GONNA BE A KPOP IDOL IF YOUR NOT A BEAUTIFUL,TALENTED ASIAN(girl, boy)!!!”
But here is something you can do it if you’re ready to sacrifice a lot and maybe all your life and self !
+don’t let anyone say you’re a Korean boo just because you love k-pop and want to be like then 👍💙✨
“they speak english perfect” immediately cuts to a clip of RM AHHHAHAHHAHA
I’ve been trying to train myself since I was 8. It’s been almost 4 years. I want to audition for JYP Entertainment, but I’m American... I’ve not given up hope yet though!
Dot give up, everything is possible, keep it up, keep practicing, let's meet each other in Billboard 😘🌠
and girl if that doesnt work for you just sing and promote urself and show em u can do it
Damn the American school system is messed up, what American? African? Asian?
Welcome to now audition Los Angeles A2k for Jyp and another Also YG and HYBE label in 2023 😆😆😆 I can go for goals American goals I am accepting black and white or dark asian - non asian I will support to all the World Racist Discriminate same as example for southeasian thailand in lalisa blackpink. I hate now for Sm entertainment can't allowed non-asians for foreigners.
I can tell 4 k-pop groups with non Korean members from the top of my head. And I do not listen to k-pop. So what are you even talking about?!
Are they asian though?
International Playboy Jungoo yes 😹 . i can tell that person is referring to probably blackpink , got7 , wayv and twice lmao
and they are talking about non Asians dude. Asians, even if they aren’t korean, are more likely to be accepted lol
International Playboy Jungoo yeah
@you ugly 1. Lip Gloss
2. BLACKSWAN
3. RANIA
4. UHSN
5. LANA (soloist)
And there's more but theyre mostly from the 90's
Im 1/8 Chinese and 1/8 spanish and rest Filipino and Im practicing dancing and singing and Im good at dancing but im 11 im going to audition 14 or 16 but... Im gonna study and practice and care for my face and body and STUDY FIRST
It isn't about which country we are from, it's about the talent and the looks. Kpop industries look for people who are talented and can train all day long to make it to debut. And YES, obviously we need to learn Korean.
I wish you were right
But actually no even if u were talented
Koreans will not accept a non asian idols.. I wish i could not say it but most of koreans r racist they will hate on u if u were white black or brown
They even do a surgery on non korean idols to look more korean just to make koreans accept em
Its rlly hard and kinda impossible if ur not Asian
Did u see how koreans hate on feto blackswan member just bc shes black
:(
@@kittywhite4553 i’ve actually seen a lot of koreans say positive things about fatou! and how they’re happy that the industry is getting diverse :) but i obvi don’t know what every korean thinks about her
Everyone in the comments saying that they want to be a K-pop star but are too scared of being called a Korea boo. Just know that "Fear is an illusion." Also people will hate on you no matter what, that's just sadly the society we live in. But you all can do it :)
yeah i agree with u kpop idols get tons of hate and get criticism and get cancelled for the smallest things they do if they don't have a strong mentality they shouldn't go in the industry in the first place. To survive in this industry they need to have strong mentality.
Tysm for this
some of you guys need a reality check. Kpop isn’t all of that many people in the kpop industry have been mistreated for example, The Rose those boys were not being paid at all by their old company and have only recently left their old company. If you’re not asian do NOT audition they won’t accept you. Even right now in the industry many kpop idols who are asian but not korean have gotten so much hate for not being korean.
True that. I think people are getting their hope too high.
My parents don't support me wanting to became a k-idol but I want to work hard and try for jyp not because of twice but because that company is an actually good company and I feel like j.y. park is understanding. I hope you guys can achieve your dreams or atleast try like I'm trying to! :)
