6:00 A slanted top-tube allows for more dampening through the seatpost. If it were one in a common shape and size (27.2mm, 30.9mm), of course, he could get it. Which would match the all-road character of the bike.
The explanation I've heard is it allows bike manufacturers to reduce their SKUs to sell bikes that fit more people without having to stock twice the amount of sizes.

GIANT PROPEL! The bike is simple, aero, and light weight, no unnecessary speed sniffer or curved tube shapes. The bike is like the girl next door. It looks fast, rides fast, looks sexy and rides sexy.

I would go with the Black Giant Propel, awesome looking bike, however I do share your opinion about the Zipp wheels.
My favorite was the Enve Fray but I’m biased since I built it! But I agree with you on that awesome Giant Propel, what a beautiful bike!
enve fray was a pretty build the bike would be my favorite if it had top tube strait, but I am growing on enve wheels

Some. Like the Melee is but the custom is not Chinese. Wheels still manufactured in Utah.
custom, ses wheels and one piece habdlebar I think is the only things made in Utah. Everything else is oversees like every other brand unfortunately!

Parlee is “Par-LEE” not Par-lay. They build the very best carbon frames on the planet. They are located in Beverly, MA and have build custom bikes for pros for 25+ years. You should check them out.
That Parlee with the triple spoke Princetons made my jaw slam to the floor.
Giant Propel is such a good looking bike, iits an aero bike that doesnt try superhard to have some 'unique' 99/100 times marketing BS advantage, it just looks good while being great.

I'm not a fan of the backward sloping downtube on modern bikes either. I've seen well-maintained older steel track and road bikes and the way their top tubes gently slope forward and down makes them look clean, and fast.

Hahahaha, my first custom skateboard was hilarious in the same way as that Pinarello, I was 12y old and picked the most expensive parts, basically didn’t know what I was doing … the end result was the same 😂

The blue Giant propel ( Then one before the last bike). Anyone is noticing that seat tube angle is different above top tube vs bellow top tube?
This looks odd to me. Shouldn’t seat tube be all straight up from bottom bracket all the way to the seat? Maybe just looks like this in picture because of light and camera angle?! 🤷🏻♂️ but when you zoom out it’s more obvious.

Am a big fan of sloping top tubes. If you're 5'7 or shorter, it makes the bike feel much easier to straddle, and it allows the seatpost to stick out more so as to be able to flex. On a very small frame, it will limit you to smaller water bottles though.

Bicycles are crazy expensive these days and if you have that kind of money why would you throw it away on a carbon bicycle like one of these in the video. I am having a US boutique steel frame builder make me a custom steel frame with some interesting design features and my pick of selected tubing and polished sections like the forks and stays. Cost for the frame alone is $6500. Then the components I have are new Campagnolo Centaur 10 speed and I built a brand new wheelset using Pacenti rims and Onyx Vesper hubs. The total build will cost estimated $10K but it is going to be an eye catcher for sure and one that I won't have to worry about cracking if the wind blows it over. Carbon is not something that can last, it's made for speed but you can build a light weight steel bike that makes a lot more sense and won't be made using proprietary parts that you can't get after 5 years. But I get that there are those people out there that have huge egos and small penises that need to get noticed at the club rides.

that system six was ruined (my bike). i promised to never like a black bike again (my last bike - wilier matte black) butttt the last giant was sick but still not quite as beaut as the blue venge.

Giant Propel is a super nice aero, but the seat mast makes resale in the used market pretty tough. If you buy it new, I suggest getting extra spacers if you ever plan on selling it after cutting the mast. I purchased a used one based on frame size, but the mast had been cut extremely low and I needed extra spacers after taking it into a pro fitter. Ended up selling it for a more all-rounder Cannondale.

@@GCPerformance18 added disclosure(?): mine was a 2017 half year model per Giant in the UK. Trying to change our spacers the wonky AF bolt stripped and I couldn't remove it or extract it. Ordering the replacement from the US site gets the wrong(newer) one and the Giant dealer was zero help. Giant UK got it sorted in two emails. Plus she took the time (unsolicited!) to let me know mine was a half year release, like the TdF bikes. The new ones look totally different for the better.... until I saw the mast and PTSD kicked in! 😂😳

I've thrown short risers on an aero bike and it's surprisingly faster and lighter, but you have to work way harder to stay in an aero position, but it's essentially a time trial bike if you stay tucked near the head of the stem

no I like princeton wheels when done right, some times they can be super gaudy but when done right the bike comes out so nice
