great tip on the new affordable reel thank you
Thanks for the support brother
I just got my Diawa Fuego from the SaltStrong. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I am excited to get to the coast to try it out. Thanks for sharing this review.
Thanks for the support
Love the vids man ill be out there in the morning and im all in on the abu Garcia combo kinda guy
Go get em bro. Thanks for the support
I’m thinking about getting this one and buying and extra spool to make it sort of dual purpose. Lews kvd is another nice one to look at
Great Video Dan ! Thanks for the Daiwa tips . Capt Hoppy
Thanks Capt. Where do you charter out of?
Looking forward to test them out
You will love them
This is probably the 5th or 6th review on this reel and you’ve helped sell me on this. I fish the “inshore” here on the West Coast and was looking for a lighter reel. Thank you, now to try and find one here locally 😂😂
Thanks for the feedback brother. These reels are definitely hard to find but well worth the wait. Cabella’s and Bass Pro get them in from time to time.
Tackle advisors does a great breakdown on daiwas mag seal if you are interested, very effective at preserving the reels internals and anti reverse, I have a 2500 fuego D and ballistic 2500xh, both are smooth as butter. For the money, the fuego has amazing quality.
Do you feel like the ballistic is worth the extra money?
Tackle Advisors is an awesome channel for all things reel related! Learned a lot of great tips on cleaning reels as well👍
@@vicksventure If you are looking to outfit more than 2-3 setups, no. Ballistic is lighter and and has a couple better features but it’s really about if you want slightly more fishing comfort and refinement over a budget friendly reel that still has many of the same features and pros.
Agreed , I’m Shimano Fan however after used Daiwa Feugo then i can feel the quality is great for the budget reel. Now i own 2 units Feugo reel 😊
Thanks
The Diawa Regal Lt is insane 🙏
I was in same boat after all my Stratics got stolen with my rods. I couldn’t afford replacing everything at once buying stratics so I got Fuegos in 2500,3000 size. Use in the bay and fresh water a 1 1/2 yrs being fished by my 10yo, 7yo and myself still like new. About to buy another one for trout season.
Stealing anyone’s fishing gear is lower than low. I hope Karma pays them a visit. Sorry that happened to you.
Tight Lines in your future.
Just ordered one . . . 😍
I have a few daiawa reels and the work really good
That’s great to hear. I love mine
Daiwa Exceler LT. Fairly cheap, super smooth, super light
I mean I would consider a well performing reel that's only $80 fairly cheap compared to most
Welcome to the light lol. I made the switch to diawa a long time ago. Been using diawa bg’s for a very long time and no issues. Going to try a few fuego as well
So far so good, for me. Thanks for the continued support brother
Great review as usual Dan. I fish the same setups but with Ballistics, although the Fuego is really the better value.😊 I have a question sir... The utility rod that you use, is that the Coastal Clearwater Gulf castor spin, SWS - 76M ? I want to order one, but just wanted to run the model number by you to be sure.
Great videos as usual. Thank you. 👍
Thanks Jon. Yep that’s the one.
My biggest concern about the 2500 is that it won’t have to power to reel in larger reds or even sheepshead. What are your thoughts on this and does the reel flex to much for this application? I’m trying to decide on an all around reel.
The reel has plenty of power. I use them on all my charters and we have no problems. Check out my instagram page for examples of what they can do @CaptainDan_Charters
I was looking at the Stradic after watching your video.
I was at bass pro & they didn’t have the stradic and the guy recommended me this fuego. I just got the 3000 with a star rod yesterday.
Awesome man. You’ll love it.
I have 2. GREAT reels!
Thanks for the comment
My jigging/plugging reel
Shimano Saragosa 5000
No issues for 3 yrs, pulled in gts no problem
My light action reel use bait fish
Shimano nexave 5000 59.99
Great reel for 60$

Having trouble with the drag on both my Fuego (3000 and 2500) reels. Drag on both reels doesn't tighten down. What might be wrong. What are the three plastic washers in the bag used for?
The washers are not drag washers. They are for spacing the spool higher or lower as the line loads on.
I want to use this for trout and bass. I mostly fish from the dirt or in waders for those 2. I just wanted the option to fish baracuda if the opportunity presents itself. Im on the fence with this, the pfluger president xt and the proficiency krazy reel. Thoughts? Thanks for posting.
The Fuego is a great reel. I now own 4. Small, compact, light and strong. You won’t regret getting it.
@@LowCountryFishing Thank you. Will go ahead and check my cart out. Will update once it arrives. Thanks again.
how did you do it can you share with me , thank you
I’m very new to Diawa. I was. Pflueger President guy for about 10 years. Between the wife & I we have 7 of them. I sadly have to say one by one I have to have 1 to 2 reels repaired every year. It’s getting frustrating and old. It’s one thing or another failing on my Pflueger’s. It only July of 2022 and I have 2 in for repairs as I type this comment. To keep fishing I picked up a Regal 2500 and fell in love with it on my medium lite rod. Geez it’s really nice and oh my God smooth as silk. When my main bearing seized up on my Pflueger President 30, I just said screw it I’m done with Pflueger and bought a Diawa Fuago 2500LT to replace it.
I am in Northwest Wisconsin and my reels are stored in my cabin and never ever left outside over night. They never have gotten wet or taken apart. Actually last year I bought a Pflueger President 30 on sale as a backup reel and never cracked open the bubble pack. I returned it and bought my first Fuago. I’m sad to say I will not buy any more Pflueger’s. I’M DONE
with buying more Pflueger’s.
I hope Diawa is the answer to my problem.
My Fuego a are great. No issues after 18mths
I have the Daiwa Regal 2500 Lt as well going on 3yrs and still performs great like I just bought it def worth the $ 👍
Check out the new updated Nasci’s. They are very solid and come in at the same price point as the Fuego. I have 2 Fuego’s, a ballistic and the new Nasci. I tend to lean towards the Daiwas since they are lighter but that Nasci is on my popping cork/live bait rod and I’m starting to like it more and more.
I was honestly all about the Nasci until I dropped one in salt water. The entire reel went in the garbage after for that. Everything was corroded due to lack of seals.
@@LowCountryFishing have to service any reel after a dunk
@@LowCountryFishingI think tackle advisors reviewed a fuego that was dumped in salt water. If I’m not wrong water entered the reel and some parts were a bit damaged, but I remember it was kind of serviceable still. The magsealed on a fuego anyway is not fully sealing it against water, just saying. I have two fuegos (the newer version) and they are really nice, but the new stradic is a whole other planet (in fact it costs twice as much) and is a way more robust reel (its got an aluminium body and is better sealed than the fuego). I’ve also now bought a nasci as I needed a spare reel, so will be able to make a direct comparison between fuego and nasci which are a better comparison I think I think (even if I suspect fuego is better, but it also costs a bit more)
@@HBweisse fuego is finess reel, stradic workhose.. and cost 2x more than fuego...
@@ivanvedris9636 yes of course, in fact I wrote that fuego is comparable to nasci not to Stradic which is on another level
feels flimsy when reeling fish in
it doesnt pair well with my fenwick hmg unfortunately not sure if its the low gear ratio at 5.7 but cranking power seems weak and flimsy
fuego 4000
🔥🔥🔥💯
I got mine for $48 🔥🔥🔥
Daiwa Fuego Lt 2500D and 2500D-xh same spool size
Indeed
what does the xh stand for?
More drag
@@LowCountryFishingty
I bought two daiwa fuego 2500 reels.. about $100 each...
at first thought they definitely are not as smooth as my shimano sedonas($60reels)
The second time I used my fuego 2500 it started squealing and grinding internally, the other fuego that I own spools the line so bad that it always causes tangles. And yes I did shim the spool up so the line feeds on better,.
I used all the shims that came with the reel and it still stacks line at the top of the spool... junk
It’s designed to spool up that way. Google abs
A Daiwa Fwan !!!🤣🤣
All I run with is Daiwa..They make affordable and incredible reels for the price points! I have Tatulas, Kage and a couple Procyons..amazing stuff
I will also tell you right now that the Daiwa Regals are fantastic reels for beginners and have awesome opinions from me
Wait it’s not Sunday😳 Did I miss a day🤷♂️😂😂
I Got impatient. lol
@@LowCountryFishing I hear ya Bro🤷♂️ I love my 4 Diawa BG 2500-3000 series on Falcon Rods and Pre-Rona I paid around $82 for each for the BGs. Thinking about adding one more to the lineup so I will give this a look! I personally enjoy these vids along with the fishing vids! Kind of a backstory if you will to the fishing brand side of the house👍 LCF.
The higher grade Shimano are great but 125$ and below haven't treated me well. They simply don't last. Daiwa however have been great. Fuego, BG, even the Legalis is good.
I find the $100-150 is a tricky segment overall. It's just not good enough to outlast two $50-60 reels, and not fancy enough for most people to pay for service and crap.
In Shimano, I either buy a bunch of Nexaves and just switch them out as they go, or buy (another) Stradic or Sustain.
Is it ok with salt water fishing??
Absolutely. The seals keep everything out.
They aren’t as well sealed as you think. Mag seal only affects the anti reverse part of the reel. It’s a really good reel for the money but by no means is it well sealed.
Diawa for me everyday.
Dave I have bought the diawa BG 3000 . I like there products.
Who’s Dave? 😆
Can’t find it anywhere
I know man. Diawa is seriously backlogged.
Let us know after 9 years!!!
Well I only need it to last 4.5 years cause it was 1/2 the price of the Stradic. 😝
Your drag should be set to 25 - 30% of your weakest line. So no more than 3 lb with the 10 lb braid you mentioned. So why is it incredible to have 19 lb of drag that you won't use?
It’s incredible that they pack that much drag in a small reel.
daiwa spinning reels are super refined compared to shimanos but its the complete opposite when it comes to baitcasters for some reason 🤦🏻
Actually the new Tatulas like the Elite and SV are far more refined than they used to be, on par with my higher end Shimano's like my Metanium MGL and Bantam MGL
@@jpap967 i dont think any of the tatula line are smoother than the curados. ive had a chance to use a steez and that was close to as smooth as my higher end shimanos. i love the tatula line of rods tho great bang for the buck
@@happybeing777 have you tried the Tatula Elite or Tatula Coastal specifically? They have the newer Shimano-style knobs. They are as smooth as the older Steez models like the Steez A
@@jpap967 yup ive had the new tatula 100 and have used the elite
Why did I just buy a clash 2?!
Return it
KastKing sharky iii. Similar drag, slow retrieve and relatively inexpensive. Spec'd for saltwater. Good stuff man
Thx brother
