Amazing. I have done literally every job on set. I know this gig. You could have thrown locations under the bus, but you didn't. You are a great human. That all could have come out of loc budget. Great job! I would AD, Loc or any job in between for you any day.
yea this all is a game of relationships not only do you have to be good but you have to have people want to work with you. The jobs are almost a 360 degree job interview themselves to every other person on that set that can recommend you for another gig. Treating people and resources right is always the way to longevity and getting next level. In fact plenty of times crews are formed more on who people want to work with over their abilities. I myself have crossed off endless make up artists who may have had tons of talent but fail to know how to show up on time or work prooperly and I end up calling in someone more reliable that may still need to get some experience down for the craft. The best tip in my opinion was to not burn bridges. I've received free studio time and gear rentals for no other reason other than showing the connection that I cared they were taken care of by any means necessary. Music videos are stressful especially on a low budget but they really made me fall in love with them. The relationships and collaborations built are beautfiul

I didn't like ballistic. It is well done, but I didn't ike it. Production was great though and you can see this.

This is so true, i have experienced this not for music video but generally producing my reality show. It is complex and there are a lot of things to consider. i love the dove story, it just shows that if you care it is a credit to you. Ha ha elephant committee of America. Well done indy mogul we need more behind the scenes channels.

I got suckered by a Houston music producer (Rok) to make a slew of videos and I never got anything in writing, I learned quick 😂👌🔎 so cool ya made this....you have some good knowledge

Did this on my last shoot. Never doing this again. But didn't lose money as I made sure to to pay the advance expenses upfront.

I just sent an email to a client for my 50% refund policy contract.
Due to some personal problems, i wasn't able to deliver on time.
And the client needed the job for a project that will be summited to the comune and so on.
At the end they used some old video of theirs.
I felt very guilty I couldn't get it out of my head.

i was on a horribly tv-series set ...ver low costs, low income for the crew, freezing weather outdoor shooting, up to 17 hour days ...but it got really hairy when the catering got bad. people started to freak out!

Anybody have any links on how to shoot a music video in slow motion but the singers lips stick to the song? Do they have to sing the song faster? Any help would be great. Halsey vídeo that was one take is a good example.. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks
ekphotography definitely have to perform the song faster and shoot at 60fps and up
1:45 I have worked on a film where my producer and I were hired onto a project, and he was suppose to pay us fully in a week's time ... its been three-months and he still has paid all of it yet. 😒
It’s crazy that some of these same issues came up today in a pre-production meeting. The producer/project manager of a potential video project when asked when would we be seeing our Agreement appeared to look like a deer caught in the headlights, stated that he had not thought he we needed one. Had to scratch my head. I shouldn’t be to surprised considering he had not been exactly able to communicate with the sponsor/client on what was expected and what was the budget. During the course of first bringing up the project and contacting the crew, this producer appeared not to do any homework or prep, which in turn leaves the majority of the crew in doubt of his ability to see this thing through, can anyone say “shit show”, because this is what it is turning out to be. I have been asked to step in by him to take it over, but I am somewhat hesitant because he has confused the client and we are down to 2 ½ weeks till showtime.

I'll just stick to using my 5D mark III and my Canon 80D first time I've been happy with the camera's I own. If I feel the need to go 4K I'll buy the Canon M50 and the adapter for the EF lenses.

I live in KC, we have Strange Music here which is Tech9. I have never worked a strange music video because they RARELY pay actors. Which is frustrating, but Music Videos not having access to things like "money" makes sense why.
The mega budget music videos have gone down the tube since digital distribution. Few superstars can afford to “sensibly” make a million dollar music video nowadays.

When you have a crew of 11 people but only 5 people pay for crafty smh.
Why they didn't just throw rice on the floor and then closer to the exit so doves would fly away?
I just made a mini doc on a super successful director (Creds: Polo G, ASAP Ferg, Ty Dolla Sign etc) and he gave lots of useful advice in it - if you have a min, check it out 🙏

Music videos are definitely an amazing way for artists to work with other artists. It can be a tough and low-budget industry, but so is most of the indie filmmaking industry. At the end of the day, I think you just get whatever you put into it. Especially if you're looking for experience and get eyeballs on your work, there aren't a lot of paths for young directors and DP's like shooting music videos.
