Stunning review as always. I just ordered the Blue Shellback Date. My first ever micro brand purchase. Can’t wait to receive it! If this watch is as good as it looks, I will honour it with the title ‘Black Bay Killer’.
Yes the watch is nice but I've come here to congratulate you on the subscriber numbers. As someone who's been watching you since you had 2k subscribers on your first channel, I'm so glad you're doing so well. It looks like you jumped 20k overnight. Hugely well deserved and keep up the great work.
I, too, have been around since the first channel, and I'm really happy that he's doing well. His numbers have been climbing slowly for a while, and then 💥!
You are right - the white dial with a black bezel insert would look good - or even blue - they should offer bezel options. The layered dial and strap are great.
I really like the black dial version of these. It's definitely on my list. Great review. That clasp still looks a bit chunky, especially for a desk diver.
@@ilikewatches Its really good. The date window is a little suspect, but everything else about it is fantastic. Also, they dont have half links for it at the moment, and wont be ready until this summer...so there is that.
I think the white version with a full metal bezel and an orange colour dipped second hand is inspired by the Explorer II, it's not a bad thing, it would be my pick of the bunch.
@@ilikewatches yes it's lovely as well. But I need the timing bezel on a dive watch for daily use, which is why I wish there were more dive watches like this.
I bought the V1 about two years ago. This looks pretty much the same. The clasp was a fiddly extension job, so this is certainly an improvement. I ended up selling it because it was just a bit meh.
Love that white! Too bad I have another similar Micro of great quality (Nordic Marine). But I did have the blue dial V1 Shellback and it was a real peach! Loved it! It was just too easy to sell and get all my money back. Sometimes the watch is too good, and you get your investment back that you sell it and maybe come back in the future. But this V2 looks just that little bit better.
I'm in exactly the same boat with a couple of my watches. The half links allow me to have the quick adjustment in the middle position when I'm in a room temperature environment. If it gets warmer, I can loosen it, and if the temperature goes down, I can tighten it. I can always get a perfect fit!
That date setting is very well planned. Sandwich is nice. Branding is the niggle, but I'd go with it at the right price... Does it pass the TK Maxx test? (by which I mean does it look like a TK Maxx 'brand' and quality of a £59 watch?) Yes, it passes. But £500 is about as high as I would go.
OMG! Except for the sandwich dial it looks like a dozen other divers. There are only so many things one can do to a watch and I believe those ideas have been exhausted. Still, enjoy your program. 😊
Looks good but in 2024 a case that is rated to 200m WR should not be over 11.5 mm thick. 13mm is simply too thick, and for me unfortunately a deal breaker. However, I am still interested in some of their other models. They seem to be well finished. Great designs too, especially with quick release and adjustment features on the bracelet.
Nice! The name is in swedish, Tusenö means thousand island and Göteborg (Gothenburg) is the second largest city in Sweden. Where I´m born actually! ;) Great looking watch! Twice my budget though... I actually love my new Steeldive Willard, it´s actually as good as everyone says!
This absence of the 10 is actually very deliberate - not an oversight. All the graduations [dashes] between 12 and 15 are longer than the rest of the graduations. The absence of the 10 fully emphasises this subtle change on the bezel. Why, you ask? It’s a visual aid to remind the diver that they only have 15 minutes of oxygen left. A simple but impressive safety feature. My Omega Seamaster 2531.80 also has this exact bezel design.
I wanted this one at the first launch. But something held me back from getting one, possibly cause I didn't know / trust the brand. Then V2 came out, and honestly just for the fact that they took every little criticism and improved the watch in the most subtle of ways is testament to their belief in their design but respect for the consumer's opinion none the less. I pre-ordered the V2 in Black and I cannot wait to receive it!
Thanks, I actually take a video and then while recording I hold the watch in various positions, the other pictures are from the footage I take for my reviews
I like the white version but I wish they did a full lume bezel on it. You’re missing out buying the white version over the black or blue. So because of that I’d go with the black one.
The printing on the dial still doesn’t look that clear to me. Also the frame around the date looks a bit squint but maybe it was the angle you filmed it from.
Sorry to be negative but it reminds me of a pre school toy clock. All off the indices look like date windows that something might appear from! Smiley text does not help either. I can imagine it feels good in hand and on wrist if you like the design though.
IF you have a Large wrist the extra half liks might be necessary. And conversly if you have a small wrist the half links might give you a more balanced fit. I'm guessing of course.
@@ilikewatches for me the "on the fly" sdjustment is just that... for those days of extream cold where you may need to tighten it, or for the hot/humid days when you need to loosen it. with the help of the links(half links) I'd have the on the fly at about the middle so I can go either way(as needed)
The watches I've had to send to repair or service the last 10 years have all been Swiss made. Not badly made but, sensitive? And not better made. There was a time Swiss was not the best, there will be again.
It doesn't look bad, but for that price I don't know if it's worth going for a new micro brand/kickstarter. These microbrands/kickstarters claim they're making an affordable watch or watch for enthusiast or people who want a good quality watch, but their brand holds little or no value and they are charging prices that you can be charged for a decent Bulova/Citizen/Seiko/Orient/Tissot/Timex.
The likes of Seiko won’t even give you a fully milled clasp, signed crown, or screw-in links, never mind all 3, for less than 1000, so let’s not pretend otherwise.
Nice review Garv. I have never understood prototypes that are anything less than as close to perfect as a company could make. If I had a watch company, I would want the prototype to be as amazing as possible to build excitement about an upcoming release. It this watch had incredible lume, it would be an instant winner!
@@ilikewatches Well, it matters to me, it's my language. I don't think I would wear a watch with that word on the dial, at least here in Spain. As a general rule, brands take this into consideration to maximize their sales. This is a great watch, but the brand ruin it.
im been observing tuseno for a long time, thought of getting their new release. but this pre-ordering bullshit, yea no thanks, im not parking my money in their bank account for months
Nice watch but 40mm?? that would look like a child's watch on my 8.25" wrist, for that reason alone I wouldn't buy it.....seems like a whole lot of guys may be left out without options

It’s beautiful. I have a black dial Shellback v2 on the way this summer
Ordered one in white. A bit of an Explorer II challenger whilst keeping its own identity. Trully well done I gotta say!
Lovely looking watch - ended up pre-ordering the blue date version after seeing multiple preview videos and can't wait for the full release in summer.

I didn't notice Garys subscribers count until you mentioned it. I thought it was still around 30k. Congratulations Gary, nearly 100k!
Thank you….i appreciate your support for such an early stage!
It's a very nice watch. I do like the sandwich dial. That hour hand is interesting. Thanks again Gary !
Looks fantastic!!
You are right - the white dial with a black bezel insert would look good - or even blue - they should offer bezel options.
The layered dial and strap are great.
What would customer support be like in say three years time, for example if a bezel replacement was needed.
I resisted buy the first one, but this one even harder to resist!
I just keep telling myself "I don't need another dive watch"!!!! 😮
Great looking watch!
Hey slag…
I have this exact watch on order; really looking forward to receiving it. In my view, based on the specs alone, at $650.00, it's an absolute bargain!
I really like the black dial version of these. It's definitely on my list. Great review. That clasp still looks a bit chunky, especially for a desk diver.
Shellback is on my shortlist :) Soon! Soon!
Have you seen the windseeker…their other watch…I love it
@@ilikewatches Yes. I know the windseeker. It looks good, but it's too much of a fashion vibe for me. Probably would end up in a box :)
What a stunner!
Their windseeker looks even better imo
I have the Black no Date version on order, I like the date version as well.
I genuinely like the design. It seems like a modernized version of the Sub. And price isn’t so bad either. Thanks for the great review.
My pleasure….i really want their Windseeker on the channel

Really good watch❤
Great prototype, and great video mate
I really love Tuseno. Probably would be my choice, near perfect dress diver. Love the enamel black dial, flatlink bracelet and sandwich dial!
Seen their Windseeker?
@@ilikewatches yes it's lovely as well. But I need the timing bezel on a dive watch for daily use, which is why I wish there were more dive watches like this.
nicccce, defo buy that watch
I bought the V1 about two years ago. This looks pretty much the same. The clasp was a fiddly extension job, so this is certainly an improvement. I ended up selling it because it was just a bit meh.
Same. Lume was crap and you get bored of the dial. It was such a good price at the time and dont have many swiss made watches so I'll keep it

I'm a real shellback, crossed the equator in 1978. I want a free one. Lovely watch.
This is one of the better looking watches of all brands over the last 2 years
Wow strong praise indeed
The white one is verrrry tasty 🙂👍
That's lovely. If they have a white bezal white dial one all the better.
I’d love a white dial black bezel!
Nice looking watch. Pricing is good also
I'm usually at one of the extremes of the quick adjust, so half links would make it usable for me.

A little bit pricey for me but the best looking diver I've seen in 2024.

These days no-one cares. 13mm for a 200m WR is normal. If people demanded thinness, lie they expected in the 1990s, watch manufacturers would oblige.

Finally: someone spots this hard-to-forgive error.
Chat, what is the best pelagos 39 homage? And what about with a fxd bezel option? Looking at the IXDAO, but reviews are so give and take.
I don’t like that it’s missing the 10 on the bezel. It looks like a mistake to me and I can’t unsee it.
True. They should definitely add the 10 for their production models.
This absence of the 10 is actually very deliberate - not an oversight. All the graduations [dashes] between 12 and 15 are longer than the rest of the graduations. The absence of the 10 fully emphasises this subtle change on the bezel.

A cracking good diver at reasonable money. Definitely on my short list to purchase 👍
How do you take your photos when listing your watches on eBay? They look so professional 🤩

Like the date dial I loathe date dial at 3 or worse 12 very nice Tasty in fact
that watch is beautiful :)
I like the white version but I wish they did a full lume bezel on it. You’re missing out buying the white version over the black or blue. So because of that I’d go with the black one.
Why is no "lume pip on the bezel" an improvement?
Because the triangle at the 12 on the bezel is lumed so no need to then have an additional pip on top of it
What steel???
316L or 904?
316
Nice watch, just think you can get better for the price.
Probably not Swiss made
Very nice, but it needs two tone for me
The printing on the dial still doesn’t look that clear to me. Also the frame around the date looks a bit squint but maybe it was the angle you filmed it from.
It would have been nice if the colour of the bezel matched the dial.
Very nice look, if only these are available in smaller sizes, eg. 37mm
PLEASE do a program of the Carl Gustaf watch! olso swedish disegn. I got one and that watch is more expensive.
Sorry to be negative but it reminds me of a pre school toy clock.

If those brands made a watch with exactly these specifications with Swiss made on the dial it would be over €1,000
Well said Gary.
Bulova did a limited edition, Swiss version of the Devil Diver four years ago. Nice but cost well over £1000 I recall.

Any time i see a sandwich dial I just want them to fill the holes with lume. Just fill it up! Much glow!
Then i go eat a sandwich.
Lol
A criminally underrated comment! Made me chuckle 😂
