If Glycine can line up the bezel on a $140 watch, why can't Seiko do it on a $1,000 watch? Looks like the second hand hits the indices too. Nice purchase Jody. I'm on my way over to the Ashford site now.

My TAG swiss quartz diver is almost 30yrs old and still going strong. Not had an easy life either- replacement oem pressed clasp over 25years ago when it slowed my decent during unplanned stairway surfing.

@@LaurentiusTriariusMany 90s style TAGs were really "non traditional" but mine was classic diver and the first lumed dial i had ever seen and on sale. Got to say the satin finish case n bracelet resistance to signs of wear is excellent. I guess that Swiss quartz movements of that period where well made.

I have 2 Combat Sub autos and love them. Just the King of value. The automatic sold for $1,000 before Invicta purchased them in 2016 and they’re still the same great quality from a brand with tremendous heritage. If you want a tank of a Swiss diver without breaking the bank, look no further.

I bought this watch a few months ago because I was looking for a quartz diver to use around electronics and in labs. Comparing several brands, I believe this is the best option in the $200 range. I really like Seiko and I have a few automatic ones, too bad they don't make a cool quartz diver like that and affordable. It is still incredible how this watch, in addition to being Swiss, is part of a brand with a lot of history like Glycine 👏💯

I bought my GL0087 after seeing your Mortal Kombat video a few years ago when the automatics could be bought for USD319.It's the watch in my (smallish) collection I have not grown weary of and I still find its size, style and particularly thickness to be the perfect combination for me. I'm very glad I pulled the trigger on it.

Thanks for the review. FYI Ashford indicates that they are an authorized dealer for Glycine (and the watches come with a manufacturer's warranty), which is not surprising since Glycine is owned by Invicta. I have resisted buying automatic watches because I don't want to have a bunch of watch winders stacked around the house so my watches are quartz or solar.

I bought a Glycine Airman GMT (automatic) GL0067 from Ashford a couple of years ago for... 350usd. With shipping to EU and VAT it ended up costing about 450usd. For a gorgeous, swiss made GMT with a buttery smooth movement, date, display glass back, +2sec/day... To this day, my absolute by far best deal ever and one of my favourite watches. Glycine is brilliant (if the size fits you).

A quality quartz movement is a good thing to have, i've bought older vintage quartz watches and many have things like 6 jewels as the norm. Nice , I like the Combat Sub but I could only wear it on a strap. 150 grams + is too heavy for me for every day wear on the bracelet which is a shame. No problem with quartz . I think though I would rather pay slightly more and get a Citizen Eco drive Promaster 200 m dive watch and in the long run I can save money on the cost of the batteries although it won’t be massive . Those can be had at a discount for a little more than this and with the money saved on batteries and paying somebody to change it unless you do it yourself the cost is more or less the same . If you are not bothered by the weight , this is a great buy for the money I agree . Glycine should try and make these lighter, at around 130 grams not more .

Gave my son the 42 mm combat sub gmt coke, it was rough, but I fixed it, and it wears so nice, at 11 mm thick and turned down lugs👌👌👌

After your previous review, I ended up buying two Combat Subs. It's hard to fault it at $350 ish....But the lume is poor. This looks like an equally good deal. Brilliant.

It’s very nice, but is it better than the Phoibos PX002C or 002B? I appreciate they are discontinued now and only available on the grey market, but I wouldn’t swap them for this.

Bit of a bargain Jody. 👍🏼 I bought the GLO388 automatic a few years ago from Jomashop & at the time it too was a great buy. They are a tough watch & for the money would be worth adding to any collection!

Does the second hand hit the indices though? Minor thing, though it drives me nuts.

I love my pilot glycine... this watch is very cool too. Reminds me of an Aragon watch band. Very reasonable price on the Combat.

i was in an invicta store in the US a few weeks back looking for any bargains to bring back home. the guy instore told me anything glycine with a quartz movement is basically an invicta with glycine on the dial. the only "real" glycines are the automatics. good price though and a nice looking watch

I have the automatic version, bought years ago. Lovely movement, only +2 seconds a day; but the watch is just too flat on the wrist. Still couldn't find a good strap that would complement the watch.
