Nice review. The ignition is on the right hand side because the car is a right hand sided driverscar. So the intention is just the same as it would be in a left hand sided driverscar. Meaning, jump in fire up and shift gear asap.
Clever summary that I hadn’t heard expressed before, but I agree. The ‘gimmicks’ are one of the enduring appeals of these cars. Fun review, hope you’ve gotten one by now. Cheers
Thank you for giving the option to dislike your video ...what incredible honor . I rarely press the like button but because of this stretch of immeasurable fortitude I will like and subscribe
What a car! What a review! - Really thorough and some beautiful shots. It does help having a Classic 911 Targa in frame! 😍 Man, that car! I LOVE the rear glass - totally unique and distinctive. Great work, sir! Keep 'em coming! 👍 By the way, can the roof be stored in the 'frunk'? 👍
Mr Jean Deaux Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it! And yes, it can be stored in the “frunk”! Unfortunately it was full of camera gear at the time so did not film it 😂
@@takeitforadrive you're welcome, thanks for the reply! Yep, I'm guessing a roof AND camera gear is a liitle too much on the stowage front for a RWD sports car! Even one as practical as a Porsche! I really enjoy your reviews - thanks for taking the time, and for sharing your work, too. I was going to thank you for putting the effort in, also, but it's hardly a chore driving a classic open top sports car around on a hot and sunny day! 😂 I look forward to the next one. All the best! 👍😎☀️
The ignition key slot is on the right because it’s a RHD car. The idea is that the ignition is started with your right hand and your left is on the gear knob. In reverse for LHD cars. Same principle!
MORE RESEARCH needed. Many "features" and "options" of the Targa in the 1980's are unique ... Impact bumpers "mandated" by the U.S. for crash protection, part of the design were the accordion-type trim....
Nice review. Too bad these air-cooled prices have gone absolutely BONKERS. You can buy three decent Porsche 997's for the price of a low mileage air cooled (911, 964 and 993). They are as expensive as old Ferraris now.
Original Fuch wheels are high quality aircraft grade aluminum , lessens un-sprung weight. The wheels you conveyed are “steel”, are likely aluminum if original factory . I’ve a black/ black 83 911 sc targa turbo tail all original Porsche. Last offer was $350k USD. I’d might consider $1.3 M USD. I’m second owner since 1984. 110k miles . Its a Beverly Hills CA Porsche hence no rust. Essentially it’s not really for sale. ❤😅
Great content man. The key is on the door side of the steering column on the Porsche 911 so that you can jump in, crank the engine and put the car in gear as quickly as possible. Since youre driving a rhd example the key is in the usual position.. however for someone driving a lhd 911 for the first time it might cause some confusion because the key would be on the opposite side to a normal car. Looking forward to more videos!
Sir Alfred Powell Thanks for the feedback! For some reason I thought that Porsche continued to put the key on the left side, even for their RHD models...
hilarious line at about 4:30. "okay...this seat's forward... umpf...oof..ah...okay, so this space looked a little bit bigger from the outside...". :)

Great presentation my man, I left the video with everything I needed
Keep the good work up
Brilliant review well done
I had a 1986 exactly the same White/Burg. I still miss that car to this day.
Nice job. I watched until the end, thought there might end with a Doug Score.
What a great car in a most unique scenery - I like South Africa and classic Porsches.
Exactly what I dream for and want later, I see these going for $60,000-$90,000!!!
Love this model, too!

I have a 82 911 sc and the 915 gearbox takes a while to get used to, it needs warming up and you can’t rush it. Great review
True, i have an 84 and is a temperamental relationship. The 2nd gear has to be just right. With this car you have to know how to drive.

That was lovely. I just looked at one today. Assuming none r automatic?

Hey bro is the 1985 targa air cooled , it seems you would know
This is a 915 gearbox?
I always find PORSCHE letters is sexier and stands out more than the ROBOCOP red-strip. May be I m just a classic type guy
Gearbox needs to be rebuilt. It is probably all worn out at this point.

Makes sense! That Porsche sounds amazing! 👌
Wtf
Does the steering wheel vibrate?
No it does not, it might look like it in the video because the camera was vibrating quite a lot
Character not gimmicks
The key is in the right because steering wheel is there…🤓
The best sound in the word don’t get me wrong when I see this car I can imagine hitler standing with Himler proudly behind it 😂
That is Porsche
They're not supposed to pop lol
Много слов!!!
