Barrett thank you for inviting me to this important discussion, which I thought was helpful, thought-provoking and deeply personal. I think this is an important topic that needs to be covered now and in the future. I'm hoping that, as time progresses, I will be able to associate my latest book not (just) with the grief and loss of my friend Dan but as a tribute that serves in remembrance of him. I hope that the discussion we had helps at least 1 other person and then we can call it a win. Writing can and should be very reflective of our own experiences as people but can also be important and valuable means of expressing those feelings and helping to process them.
And yes maybe once the complicated emotions (some of which I don't fully understand) I've been processng since Dan's death are fully settled I can then work on scratching the itch that is getting book 3 of this series done!

My thoughts are with you Richard. Grief is tough it comes in stages. I remember being in the middle of a supermarket when a song played over the loudspeaker and I lost my collective S*#$ because it brought back a memory. Well picture be howling in tears in the middle of a crowded supermarket. not pretty. Thankfully with time it has my grief has passed. I hope it does for you also xx

HI Barrett, I am so sorry that I missed this WR!!! I can relate in so many ways to this. Fortunately I am so far removed from the grief now that I can see it from the "other side". Like you said to Richard, that you hope his dedication will one day not sting . Well now my grief doesn't sting anymore.... don't get me wrong it has never left me but the pain isn't there anymore. I hope for all those that experience grief and loss that the healing comes fast xxx My love to you Dot xx must catch up for a chat soon xx
