Hey i have a question i have a roadstar 1600 i think i need a fuel pump it. Clicks n its will run for a few seconds n it dies out starts on choke. Dies out i emptied tank of all fuel cleaned carb this hast to be my problem
Having a bitch of a time w/my 03 VStar 1100. Been sitting for a while & trying to bring it back to life. I’ve replaced the fuel pump & relay, kill switch. Turn on the key, lights, horn all work but nothing from the pump. BYW, all fuses good. Any suggestions? Thanks
Can you tell me where the relay is located? I have a 2002 1100 Vstar that won't start. When I turn the key to on, I don't hear the pump. NOt sure if it's a relay problem or fuel pump. Any help is appreciated!
Your issue is probably a fuse or a short. The fuel pump on these bikes almost never fail. I have owned motorcycles and have always repaired them myself, I have never ever replaced a fuel pump. However, I have had to clean the fuel line manu, many times, repair wiring, replace fuses, but never the fuel pump. In the rare case that the issue is a fuel pump, you can use the fuel pump from practically any bike. For example, this will work : www.amazon.com/Caltric-YAMAHA-CLASSIC-XVS1100-2000-2003/dp/B0146VMK7E
i i bought the same pump for my bike as the original pump started clicking all the time. Once i fitted the new pump i get the initial clicking, but once the engine starts it clicks once every 2-3 seconds, do you have an idea what could be causing this?

Hey what year is this VStar?

I would double check my connections and fittings and it could also be a bad relay.
WHERE WOULD I LOCATE THE RELAY PLS?
Can't hear you...
Can you private message me he brand of the new pump? I don't feel like spending $300 for the dealership.
I don't remember what brand it was, purchased it off Ebay and had a one year warranty.
