Jimin wrote the lyrics by himself and the only one to send his first draft to the producer and it was approved, so no need for a rewrite.. "I'm caught in a lie" in major basically means that he has to act happy even when he's not. The lie is the lie he keeps telling himself. Always in the past aiming for perfection and by doing so he questioning himself! It is a personally deep song for him
Jimin is one the greatest performer of our time. you can see in his eyes,the intensity he holds. His voice is unique and Amazing.

I call Jimin the bts differentiator- he puts bts over and above other groups… no one has his unique voice tone and his dance style that combines hiphop, contemporary modern dance with his martial arts and athletic moves !!! He is the cherry on the top for bts who are all amazing!

I find Jimin’s solo songs choice are so much more interesting, fascinating, intriguing, spellbinding, compelling, colourful n flavourful than many/most others.

Jimin is verrrrry gorgeous...... Every time I watch him perform he never Fails to make my heart beat go crazy.
Small (pfffffft yeah, sure...) rant about Lie:
Lie is one of my absolute favorite songs from BTS, and is imo one of the most complex songs that still manage to sound playable in a regular basis. It's just perfect, honestly.
It starts with those strings that set the mood for something kind of somber, but it's BTS, so you know this is a sort of intro, the song isn't actually like that (and then came Black Swan but that's neither here nor there). So you don't know what to expect but you expect _something_ and it builds so much anticipation. And then the harmony starts along with that Spanish guitar sound and you already think "okay, this is different! It sounds good, though," then it cuts out and *boom,* the beat drops.
Jimin sings beautifully as always, but it sounds different, more raw. He is using his chest voice, which is not all that common (at least when he's in the limelight, they tend to highlight his mixed, head voice and falsetto).
The beat doesn't go hard, but it's still so powerful, especially with those little pauses that it makes from time to time that leave you at the edge of your seat wondering "what's next?"
The tempo is 3/4 which makes it sound sooo entrancing and neverending, and so unique [Edit: *_caught_* in a lie]. It's quite unusual for pop songs to be like this.
And then the backing choir comes at you with those haunting vocals that give you _chills_ and right after bringing it to the max it _keeps you at the top_ just waiting for the climax that you _know_ is coming, with Jimin singing more slowly.
The transition to the chorus happens and you don't know what hit you because that- that was a f*cking _key change_ the song went to a goddamn major key after it was established as a minor song. AND THEN YOU REALIZE _THAT'S THE LIE._ It's so fricking genius. Cought in a lie. The happy lie that is shown to everyone else, the chorus, the _face of the song._ And it's in a "happy" key. It's so different from the darkness of the rest of the song... And they even go as far as changing the backing instrument, it's now as far as you can get from a Spanish guitar, a synthetic-sounding piano keyboard.
Yet, as the chorus progresses it slowly descents back into minor, until the entire mask is shed. The chorus is over and we go back to the guitar.
Again, the backing choir (with some sort of editing that makes it sound dark af): _chills._ And the music cuts out for some heart-ripping vocals (it's a run I think, beautifully executed) and *BAM* the beat drops again.
Then of course you have the build-up to the last bridge (I'm not sure if that's the name?), where we get that awesome high note, and it basically feels like an "I can't take it anymore, all this lying," and suddenly it's back down to the chorus but it's only some quiet, breathy vocals, a whisper. The lie gets weaker, it no longer has as much conviction and no backing from any instruments.
But of course, the lie is inescapable. You're caught in a lie, you can't free yourself, so the chorus comes back in full force.
And the song ends with the last dark notes of the guitar, still minor. It doesn't end on a happy note.
To sum up, the song takes you on a rollercoaster. The concept, the lyrics and the music all blend perfectly and tell the same story, to the point that even on their own, they still relay the same deceptively dark tale.
And this is all possible because of the different colors and textures Jimin can give his voice. Desperate, smooth and silky, quiet and hopeless. It's beautiful. Also that tone that he has during the part that sounds like "make it stop (tonna tonna cho)" in the prechorus just shook me.
[I say this as someone that's really into music but has no formal education in it or anything, so don't be shy to point out any mistakes I might have made]

Well Army the Jimin effect got me too, a 65 yo white lady in a care facility who loves music. It’s my only joy. He is adorable & ridiculously talented singer, dancer, composer, pianist etc. I started researching the group & he quickly caught my eye. I am 6’1”, I would scare the heck outta him but he could sleep in my lap like a happy puppy 🥰🥰

Quick fun fact - the chord progressions in lie that seem to go from minor to major are intentional - it gives the illusion that the song itself is caught in a lie when the chords act like a minor but are really a major chord - staying consistent with the theme n song title LIE

I love the music production on LIE too. It was produced by DOCSKIM who also produced Outro:Tear by rap line (my favorite BTS track, the string arrangements to the climax are insane!) and arranged V’s Scenery. The tracks DOCSKIM produces for BTS usually have an amazing cinematic effect. Definitely check out “Outro:Tear” live performance!!
These two songs are amongst my favs. Jimin delivers them so beautifully.
The fact that people can even make continuous videos of the serendipity live performance just shows how precise he is. There is such a graceful beauty in his dancing, and his voice. You can feel the hurt and pain in his voice when he's singing Lie, and the backstory of how BigHit wanted him to be more macho at first that it caused him to feel depressed. It was only after he could be himself that you really see him shine. I absolutely adore this song and Serendipity

If you want to listen to them live, most likely you’ll have to watch some fan cams. Some fan cams are of better visual and vocal qualities than others, and it’ll take some dig in to find the best fan cams. You’re right, the stage mix videos are almost always a compilation of their best live clips and mostly fan-made.
Jimin’s solo performances were very heavy on choreography and dancing, it’s one of his strong points as he’s a great dancer trained in contemporary and hip-hops style. His live performance would reflect more of his dancing/stage presence and there would be some background track played at different levels because no one can do jumps, circles and flips with a steady voice. Just FYI if you want to analyze his live vocals, please choose songs that are less choreography based. Thank you nonetheless for your genuine appreciation of BTS and Jimin.

Oh. hope you watch Lie live the full one and to the end, he doesn't stop where the Lie performance you watched, it's more at the end of that performance. BTS often has something extra in videos and in live performances, just because the song stops ore you think it does it the performance aren't over and sometimes the song continues for a bit longer too.
BUT I loved that you did a longer one and that you like Jimins songs so much.
Never worry about long videos when it comes to bTS I just came from watching a 58 minute long reaction to BTS's 37 minute long Performance at the awardshow MMA 2019.
