I started listening to them in 2002, sophomore year of high school. I saw them live for the first time in 2019 on the initial Fear Inoculum tour. Despite all of the obsession and subsequent burnout in between it was such an incredible experience to finally see them perform. It threw them back into my most heavily replayed music and gave me new perspective and appreciation for songs I already knew so well.
Friend I went to school with went and seen them in early 2000s or late 90s and he said the visuals on the screen were something else if you were on acid or mushrooms it be a trip for sure

The intro and ending trance inducing riff and bass just makes you think about your own existence and reason for being.

There was never a band like TOOL before them and there will never be another band like them ever again. They are timeless. They always will be. My favorite band of all time and in my opinion the greatest single band of all time. Legends, each and every member.
I am with you on that, for sure. Now in my 40s, I am just blown away that I was 13 when I first heard this band, and it spoke to me then. Still the same now, and they were shrouded in such mystery back in the 1990s. I have been in a funk since covid, and forgot how this music got me through some of my worst times. It is indeed timeless.

I get it, man. I've long since given up on the idea of having a favourite song or movie or tv show or much of anything. There is a landscape with peaks and valleys, and our favourites are at the peaks and our least favourite are in the valleys. Is one peak taller than another? Not necessarily. Maybe it is momentarily, but the elevations can change moment to moment.
This is just a perfect song. It just keeps building and building. JMK has this way of setting the tone and mood for the song. Gives me chills everytime

I've long since given up on the idea of having a favourite song or movie or tv show or much of anything. There is a landscape with peaks and valleys, and our favourites are at the peaks and our least favourite are in the valleys. Is one peak taller than another? Not necessarily. Maybe it is momentarily, but the elevations can change moment to moment.

Always loved the video for Vicarious but I wish they wouldn’t have scrapped the video for The Pot, that would’ve been a timeless one for sure. I heard they had plans for it in 2006 but never finished it
