The days or cords are numbered. OSHA is coming down hard on extension cords. Way too many injuries are attributed to them. Both electrical and trip/catch hazards. If you are a contractor who doesn't have 2 friggin batteries for this saw, well, as my old drill sergeant used to say, I got nuthin but luv for ya. For goodness sake, has ANYONE exhausted a full battery in a miter saw before the day was out? 2 batteries? The cord option is a bogus argument like saying you want your lawn mower to have a corded option. For those who don't get electricity, the larger the voltage difference between tool voltage and line(outlet) voltage(18v to 120v), the bigger, heavier, and more expensive the adapter will be. The adapter for the DeWalt saw only has to step down 2.2 to 1(120v to 54v) enabling wiring and circuitry only 1/3 as heavy as required for the 18v platform which is 6.6 to1 step down. But what are you gaining? A battery on the saw and one charged, or on the charger, no problem. If you are that strapped for cash that you can't swing another battery, get a corded saw, or a cheaper brand. Surprisingly you'll find that MOST cordless/corded tools perform better on the battery than with a cord anyway.
Does anyone know roughly how many cuts you can get with this on a battery and what size out of 2x4, 6 and 8? I work in a marina as a maintenance manager and 80% work is dock repair and it would just make everything easier to cut right on the dock
Depot got a deal goin now thats the 10" with stand for 589 , my question is is the new 12" worth paying the extra money better? So is it 300 bucs better?
Battery operated tools of this variety are nice as an option, but the battery should be just that, an option that enhances the value not raises the cost substantially while losing the corded versatility.
Well I may be looking too much into it but all of these new tools are moving toward having electronic shut off technology. Milwaukee is owned by Techtronic Industries, headquarters is in Communist China. Horst Julius Pudwill is the cofounder and chairman of Techtronic Industries, who grew up in Germany. Who knows what his political leanings are. Maybe the goal is to eventually control all of these tools so they don't work without your social credit score. You know mark of the beast.
@@MetalMayhem1978 no not at all. They make a ton of corded stuff. I just mean the newer Dewalt miter saw has the option of running either on a battery or you can plug a cord into it. It was disappointing to see Milwaukee didnt have this feature. Especially for the price.
@VCGCONSTUCTION will this Miter saw ever go sale for $150??? I sure as hell don't want to spend $500+ on a Miter saw otherwise i may just buy one from Harbor Freight.
True but to not offer corded backup is kinda surprising. If anything it forces you to buy more batteries, faster chargers or bigger batteries. Feels like a sales gimmick by design. I think next gen they will do a corded alternative.
You’ll always have to plug in your chargers. I guess it’s hard for me to think of a reason a cord would be anything but a benefit for most situations with the battery being a nice plus. But Milwaukee probably enjoys that 200$ a pop a battery
I cut steel pieces all the time with it, it’s a beast. Doesn’t weigh anything, and honestly I change the 9 or 12 amp battery once a day...yes what an inconvenience. If you’re looking for just a saw, go buy a cheap piece of shit; looking to add to your collection(I.e you have batteries and other tools of the brand) there really isn’t a better saw out there. I just finished comparing this saw to the dewalt and rigid corded saws, Milwaukee has the same power but is cordless. Whatever stuttering he’s talking about is his own issue, as I said earlier it cuts steel studs/channeling/tubing with ease, but he can’t cut wood trim with it?
10:09 For all the ppl who ask you Vince about a hybrid power source Saw from Milwaukee (other than the lights😉).....cuz ya know, ppl will ask😂 Still amazes me that scored that saw for $150👍🏻 Cheers✌🏼
My opinion I would just buy the 10inch saw M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 10 in. Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw Kit W/ Miter Stand $616 comes with a 9.0 battery does all the cuts I would need plus some.
I'll stick with my 12" corded Dewalt compound slide. I'm sure cordless may be good for some carpenters to avoid running cords, guess it comes down to work environment.
The corded 12" by DeWalt is a great saw hard to beat. We run both the corded and flex at work they are awesome saws the flexvolt is really nice when their are power outages. We've had customers lose electricity and we keep going like it never happened... Always shocks them and almost always leads to a big tip $$
All my tools bleed red but my miter saw and my table saw are both DeWalt I can't go with a miter saw or table saw that's battery-powered that I have no option to plug it in also.. for them days you got to use it constantly.. great video Vince ..if Milwaukee tools would make a plug adapter like DeWalt I'd by it but till then I'm going to hold off
@@MsElijah16 good to know thanks for the input Milwaukee has some good stuff but certain things they do I'm not a fan of as with any power tool I can nitpick it to death but you know what you want and expect in a power tool so you would think for a premium price they would give you a premium experience table saw and miter box saws should have an option to plug in.. plain and simple don't care how much they want to go straight to battery performance like others have said before they're lights have options to plug in why can't major tools that draw lots of power have that option
Milwaukee doesn't want a completely cordless jobsite for any reason other than forcing you to kill and buy more batteries. It's that simple. If they were concerned about the contractor they'd go the way of Metabo and DeWalt and give you the AC/DC option.
Vince - I know you're geared toward the professional/contractor. What would you recommend for a DIYer? I'm looking at a DeWalt DW713. It'd be my first miter saw. Would you buy a refurb from CPO? Appreciate anyone's comments.
Vince Got to be honest the 10 inch seemed real awkward and not comfortable at all and by the way Altlas 46 makes the best tool belts out there I took your advice Question do you think the DeWalt battery charged is better than the Milwaukee miter saw @vcgconstruction
I want a miter saw that's 12" but it's too expensive for me.. I can get a Metabo KGS254M for £190 that's a 10" for home DIY and building outbuildings these are £850 bare tool which seems a crazy amount.. I can see this being good if you're building a cabin in the woods where no cable but otherwise for houses and remodels no chance..
The "feature" that shuts down the saw after successive cuts almost renders it useless for a production trim carpenter. When i need it the most, it's turning itself off. Also mine sounds terrible, whining, grinding, it sounds different every time you pull the trigger. Been using it 1 week. Sux dewalt has nothing cordless available.
Ernie Garcia, I agree. Best way of getting things noticed is knocking it on social media. Going head to head & losing may be the best form of motivation for companies products to improve.
Curious if anyone has had the opportunity to actually use this on-site for finish carpentry? Very seriously considering buying it when it’s released in Canada, but want to hear about any flaws experienced users have found. I know all saws have something that could be improved on, but looking for heads up to decide which flaw I can live with most!?

I cant really get down with spending the cash on what I've experienced being at best simply lighter and on a timer with how many cuts you can make in a given 8-12 hr day(meaning at LEAST needing to purchase 2- 12ah batteries to really cook with gas) -$$$ and as I've stated, the anxiety of running low on juice and having a piece of expensive stock blowout or get chewed up on a kickback. Theres plenty of examples out there on YT sharing these concerns/downsides. Doesnt mean they dont have a place in some contractors life...just not mine.
Hey man love the videos and I’ve bought a few more Milwaukee tools after watching reviews. 🤙🏼 I’m from Australia and I have had trouble finding a review between this new Milwaukee single battery miter saw and the Dewalt dual battery miter saw, shoot out in how well they cut through not on softer timbers like Pine, but I wanted to see if you could possibly do a comparison between the two while cutting so hard wood like an Australian spotted gum or a iron bark timber. Please keep up the fantastic videos man🤙🏼
I know this is an older post, and many of you home DIY people could care less, but the move to battery-powered everything, including saws like this that traditionally are basically stationary tools, is the commercial construction space has made life difficult to run extension cords. They have so many "safety" rules involving them that contractors elect to use battery-powered tools and keep chargers close to the outlets.
The Dewalt is the one to get , i love mine ! Runs on AC and batt...I cant believe big red hasnt done this ??? Thats crazy ! Anyway i wouldent trade my dewalt for any other saw..I like Millwauki tools for sure but dewalt has them dead to rights with the flexvolt !
Year old video but cordless power tool companies make their money and keep customers longer simply because of the batteries. If the customer can save a few bucks on tool only, the company will keep that customer & it’s more probable that they’ll end up buying an extra battery or tool later on. If milwaukee made a power tool that connects to ac wall it’s easier for us to just plug it in when we’re near the power grid and not spend on another battery. Sucks man but i don’t see why we couldn’t make a dc to ac inverter unless Milwaukee implemented a deterrent safety feature for this exact reason. The same power bricks you have on your laptop between the wall & your computer do the same thing, they just have a set voltage and amp rating specific for whatever it’s powering. Thanks for the video!
I have alot of Milwaukee tools but the 12” miter saw will not be one I buy. For one reason only. NO OPTION TO PLUG IN. I picked up the dewalt flexvolt because of that option.
i don't care that its not corded... i have 47 batteries half of em being 9 and 12 amp hour packs i certainly don't need cords.. i don't even keep extension cords with me.. cordless it the only way to go for me..

Thanks for sharing the great video Vince
Does anyone know roughly how many cuts you can get with this on a battery and what size out of 2x4, 6 and 8? I work in a marina as a maintenance manager and 80% work is dock repair and it would just make everything easier to cut right on the dock
This might not make sense to some people but for some, it’s a God send. The time savings and flexibility equals more money in the bank.
They now have battery "generators/inverters" packs. So any mitre saw can be cordless.
Congrats on 115K Vince! 😁👍✌
I'm a Milwaukee guy and I wont be buying this because no cord option and too pricey.
Thanks the downside to me especially when dewalt makes it cordless with the option to use the adapter for a cord
ya it really does need a way to run off a cord too
Well I may be looking too much into it but all of these new tools are moving toward having electronic shut off technology.
TS Gear isn’t Milwaukee strictly battery operated with everything they bring out?
@@MetalMayhem1978 no not at all. They make a ton of corded stuff. I just mean the newer Dewalt miter saw has the option of running either on a battery or you can plug a cord into it. It was disappointing to see Milwaukee didnt have this feature. Especially for the price.
Great review! Wow what an awesome deal you got, love a good sale! 😊💵
Can you cut metal tubing with this saw?
@VCGCONSTUCTION will this Miter saw ever go sale for $150???
I sure as hell don't want to spend $500+ on a Miter saw otherwise i may just buy one from Harbor Freight.
I need a Milwaukee in that price range too!
i dont understand what's going on here ? where is the 12 inch miter saw ? 🤔
Where can I get a replacement Material Clamp ?
In Milwaukee's defense, their goal is 100% cordless jobsite, regardless.
It's M18 idiots.
@@zack6892 if they had a corded option I would definitely get, not sold on a battery only miter saw
My goal also. As a fence contractor cords suck. Some of my jobs are huge and dragging a cord around a job site sucks.
Hey Vince ? You think Milwaukee is coming out with a update on there 10 inch mitersaw. Thanks Great Video like Always 👍
10:09 For all the ppl who ask you Vince about a hybrid power source Saw from Milwaukee (other than the lights😉).....cuz ya know, ppl will ask😂
Still amazes me that scored that saw for $150👍🏻
Cheers✌🏼
Great video vince
My opinion I would just buy the 10inch saw M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 10 in. Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw Kit W/ Miter Stand $616 comes with a 9.0 battery does all the cuts I would need plus some.
Awesome!
Thanks Vin
I'll stick with my 12" corded Dewalt compound slide. I'm sure cordless may be good for some carpenters to avoid running cords, guess it comes down to work environment.
Can’t fault you!
The corded 12" by DeWalt is a great saw hard to beat. We run both the corded and flex at work they are awesome saws the flexvolt is really nice when their are power outages. We've had customers lose electricity and we keep going like it never happened... Always shocks them and almost always leads to a big tip $$
Battery chop saw= perfect for building a tree stand in the middle of the woods. No generator or gas needed
Also if show up prepared to the jobsite with batteries charged you can continue to work when the union electronictions ain't got the power on yet
🤣👍🏻
Where do I get that deal at? $150 is a steal
Was a 2 day sale, happens once in a while!
All my tools bleed red but my miter saw and my table saw are both DeWalt I can't go with a miter saw or table saw that's battery-powered that I have no option to plug it in also.. for them days you got to use it constantly.. great video Vince ..if Milwaukee tools would make a plug adapter like DeWalt I'd by it but till then I'm going to hold off
shakee shakee the Milwaukee table saw has plastic cogs on the rack and pinion that why I like the dewalt table saw
@@MsElijah16 good to know thanks for the input Milwaukee has some good stuff but certain things they do I'm not a fan of as with any power tool I can nitpick it to death but you know what you want and expect in a power tool so you would think for a premium price they would give you a premium experience table saw and miter box saws should have an option to plug in.. plain and simple don't care how much they want to go straight to battery performance like others have said before they're lights have options to plug in why can't major tools that draw lots of power have that option
shakee shakee yeah good to have cord option just incase
Milwaukee doesn't want a completely cordless jobsite for any reason other than forcing you to kill and buy more batteries. It's that simple. If they were concerned about the contractor they'd go the way of Metabo and DeWalt and give you the AC/DC option.
I Really like the one key option but I don’t think it can beat the dewalt flex volt I got mine for $550 2 battery’s and the corded adapter
I use that saw to cut it all . Even aluminum the trick is big battery and the right blade the saw is a monster.
Jerry Arruda how many tooth blade?
Elijah I’m staring at the blade now I believe around 80 teeth . Made by diablo
THANK YOU SOMEONE SAID IT
Vince - I know you're geared toward the professional/contractor. What would you recommend for a DIYer? I'm looking at a DeWalt DW713. It'd be my first miter saw. Would you buy a refurb from CPO? Appreciate anyone's comments.
I’ve bought refurbished before, I’d have no problem buying again!!
Doesn't metabo also offer a battery/cord adapter
Metabo HPT
Dewalts corded adapter made my decision friggin easy
Hello, where to buy???
Thanks
Vince
Got to be honest the 10 inch seemed real awkward and not comfortable at all and by the way Altlas 46 makes the best tool belts out there
I took your advice
Question do you think the DeWalt battery charged is better than the Milwaukee miter saw @vcgconstruction
david schneider the safety trigger is a bit uncomfortable
how about M18 fuel 12 inch vs milwaukee 6955-20
I agree with the tool being so heavy no point for the smaller batteries
We need a comparison when it releases against the 12 inch DeWalt flex volt
Ernie Garcia, I agree. Best way of getting things noticed is knocking it on social media. Going head to head & losing may be the best form of motivation for companies products to improve.
Curious if anyone has had the opportunity to actually use this on-site for finish carpentry? Very seriously considering buying it when it’s released in Canada, but want to hear about any flaws experienced users have found. I know all saws have something that could be improved on, but looking for heads up to decide which flaw I can live with most!?
Isn’t available yet, very few people have their hands on it.
What would you use to cut a pressure treated 6x6?
Super sawsquatch !!
You can use the mil 10' just rotate it until it cuts through
Really wish this saw had extendable wings
Good info vince
It just seems like a Mitersaw is a good reason to have a corded tool.
@ $849 for the kit....that's too rich for my blood. That's one of my guys' pay for the week. I couldnt and wouldnt. Beautiful tool. Cant deny it. But hey, that's why I'm a Makita guy who secretly wishes he was a Milwaukee guy
The Makita 12" cordless isn't cheap either and weights a ton.
@@richardvera9946 $629 at full retail, I got mine for $545 vs. Nearly $900...you practically buy a SawStop shop table saw for that price. That's a quite a difference to small business owner. As Vince also stated, a miter saw is NEVER going to be a compact tool. I dont have a problem with a saw being 63lbs vs. 49lbs if it's going on a rolling cart either way. Feel me? Plus I'd never go cordless on a miter saw. I'm a finish carpenter, and I KNOW theres been a MAJOR technological jump with cordless but I never have to worry about blowouts or chewed miters with a corded.
@@mikecohen7035 Where the hell did you find their 12" saw for that price? It's $720 on Amazon as a bare tool, and it weighs more and uses 2 batteries at once.
@@operator8014 corded brother. Corded. You're familiar with @RB ? I subscribe to his philosophy when it comes to miter saws and table saws.
😂😂😂😂the man , Milwaukeeeeee
Hey man love the videos and I’ve bought a few more Milwaukee tools after watching reviews. 🤙🏼
I’m from Australia and I have had trouble finding a review between this new Milwaukee single battery miter saw and the Dewalt dual battery miter saw, shoot out in how well they cut through not on softer timbers like Pine, but I wanted to see if you could possibly do a comparison between the two while cutting so hard wood like an Australian spotted gum or a iron bark timber.
Man Metabo HPT needs to drop a Multivolt 12”. They just dropped the 7 1/4”. Batteries or cord baby🤟🏼 MULTIVOLT
Nice saw
Nice saw but I think they should of use same design in the 9 inch concrete saw than that design it sound way cool
I would pay $300 for a battery to cord adapter that would work all the time
I'll get by with the 10" unless we get another $150 deal on this one.
I have alot of Milwaukee tools but the 12” miter saw will not be one I buy. For one reason only. NO OPTION TO PLUG IN. I picked up the dewalt flexvolt because of that option.
Can you do a Milwaukee and kobalt 7 1/4” miter saw shootout ?
i don't care that its not corded... i have 47 batteries half of em being 9 and 12 amp hour packs i certainly don't need cords.. i don't even keep extension cords with me.. cordless it the only way to go for me..
How to unlock saw
Another channel cant remeber witch showed a patient from Milwaukee for a adapter
Maybe Dee’Walter has a patten for a 12” circular saw that’s battery and corded? Idk are there others that are like that?
Dewalt is still King!!!!!!!the Miter saw is better I know because I own one
$150 huh? The good old Aramingo Ave special
Nope, shipped right my door my brother!!
If milwaukee made a corded table saw and miter saw I would buy them in the blink of an eye. I don't need these tools to be cordless, they are mostly stationary tools.
Vince, I got a Milwaukee Tape Measure that must have been custom engraved and intended to be sent your way. Did you possibly get a tape measure with my name or “nerd” on the side? Because I got one that says “STUD”, so I clearly got yours.
Vince, i think you should review the Ryobi Double Bevel 10 inch Cordless Miter Saw, and i promise you will be impressed, and its a quarter of the cost of the Milwaukee m18 Fuel 12inch. at $324.00 i think its the best cordless miter saw for the money at 10inch. and if your willing to do it i will help fund it!!!!!!!, because i love mine and i have a Ryobi 10inch corded slider miter saw. and it has Corded Power!!! LETS SEE it RYOBI VS MILWAUKEE
Longevity By D&C Properties ryobi make a nice cordless sander
@@MsElijah16 i own every cordless ryobi sander made and corded as well!!!! i love them all, subscribe to my channel bro about to launch a bunch of videos

I’d like too see how it does with the 9.0H.D.
Jed Mook might have to use a 12.0 hey
I have solutions guys!!! Someone can invent a battery adapter that converts 120vac to 18vdc. Anything is possible.
This would be a game changer for any power tool company.
Only drawback would be warranty.
No cord option is a deal breaker
Not 1 tool store within 100 miles of me will stock this saw. That’s at least 30 stores serving a half million people and Milwaukee hasn’t put a single unit in a store without special ordering it.
Well currently it's the opposite, the fuel is the only one i can find.
@@lastditch727 there’s no non fuel version of this saw.
@@ThisTall sorry, i was unclear. I've been looking for the dewalt for a month now but it's unavailable. I can only find a Milwaukee. Bought it today.
@@lastditch727 no worries, I procrastinated that saw for a year because nobody had it, but when a really high end job came up I went with the Festool. No regrets, but I still envy the cordless some times.
hello Vince. I have been watching your TH-cam show for several years I live in UK and I am a hardworking builder my hard earned money I spend on milwaukee tools I spend my time and money buying Milwoukee tools. but when I bought a 12 ”saw miter a week ago. it turned out that there is no shadow of the blade ... so I sent the saw back to Milwaukee uk .... in response to what they gave me ....... !! in the UK there are no such saws with a blade shadow only in the USA ... !!! so please .. tell me if I am a worse construction worker than an American builder ... !! ??? please explain it to me. because I have worked hard with this saw and am disappointed
Have you heard anything in the way of @Milwaukee making a rolling, folding miter stand? Bosch has the best rated one, dewalt is second, I’d really love to see them come out with a new-ish design that would compete, no, totally dominate the other brands, so I don’t have to buy from another company!!
150$ shit how did I miss this. Damn 😵🤦♂️
No Corded Option ? Really Red Tools ? I think I just made my decision to go with DeWalt, that HAS THE OPTION to plug into AC if needed. Will you at least provide an option to run a charger off a Solar setup on jobsite ? Probably not, for "We are Milwaukee, take what we give you!" NOPE ! I'm going with the manufacturer that lets me do my job most efficiently !!! It is NOT your job Milwaukee to restrict my work capabilities !
At 350 a battery they would never build an adapter to reduce your need to buy more batteries
@@reddawgrup1779 have you looked at the price of a twelve amp hour battery
226 is the best I saw. One was marked down from 319 obviously a sales gimmick. Based on what I saw i'm assuming you're talking American currency

Vince can you post that little box with the sample molding on Instagram? It's extremely blown out in the video can't see what it looks likes.
Will do Cuz, thanks!
