    Hey Justin, I've been Keto since Feb. and if I need a reset I go to scrambled eggs cooked in bacon grease. Bone broth sounds good too. I too follow Dr. Berry because I needed to get off of my 8 prescriptions. I am no longer on any meds. Honestly I do hurt from time to time but it's better to be holistically healed then by a bunch of meds. God bless your family.

    As the farm Manager, your son contributes sooo much to the every day smooth running of your farm. I know you miss him out there with you every day. sending good healing vibes to him and hope he knows how valuable he is to your business and his importance. Love us some Jonah

    I did a 7 day fast (with water mixed with electrolytes)…and went through some light-headedness during the fast..but my pain did go away. Caution, however, the worst part was the starting eating again. Be careful and eat very little in the beginning…and nothing that is difficult to digest. Chew everything a lot because your gut will be asleep (and it will be lacking certain enzymes to break down the food). Good luck.

    Tomorrow is our gotcha day ! The chickens are coming . My grandbaby is so excited , she helps a friend with their chickens and they are gifting her some . We got her coop together , got it painted the way she wanted it and all set up . Thanks Justin !

    Justin, please consider that the weather is changing. As it gets colder, many people with health problems, like yours, start to feel more pain. My husband has the same disease and the pain/swelling comes and goes regardless of what he eats or does. He has taken many medications over the years (which have helped get him walking again) but he has finally decided that (unless it gets unbearable again) that he will "ride out the ups and downs".....And there are always ups and downs.

      I agree. I have multiple Arthritis' and the day before rain or snow is miserable. Nothing manages the pain.

      I live with chronic pain, something I am working with a GI doctor about is if my body is missing something when trying to absorb food. It makes me wonder since his is clearly related to food, if his gut is missing something when trying to absorb or breakdown food and in turn causing pain.

    Saw that deleted comment... when my wife and I were in farm planning stages, before we bought our farm, the gov. Approved planner we consulted asked if we had kids, we said 2, he said will you have more? It was his opinion that children and their contributions were vital to the success of small to medium farms. Wishing you both good health!

    Justin, you may want to consider testing for food sensitivities. I used a company called Everlywell and once I eliminated the 100% of food I was highly sensitive too and about 95% of food I was moderately sensitive too I rarely have any pain now.

      Thats true bc I used to eat a lot of shrimp - tastes good, low cal, protein, inexpensive, easy to prepare. Well, turns out Im sensitive to it & it had me sick in many ways. Who knew? Bc I didnt hav mouth swelling, just internal upset, feeling lousy & pain.

    I’ve watched your videos for quite a while and there’s a theme that runs through each one without exception. You have a time problem getting things done, you can’t find things, you spend a great deal of time looking for the lost things and can’t seem to figure out how to solve the time issues, the lost things, etc. I’ll bet you can figure out the answer to all these problems with one solution.

    • @janetbecker4282
      @janetbecker4282 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Organization is key, however everything isn't locked in place. So anyone with multiple children knows it's easy to pass judgment but reality you can't make them put things up 100% of the time.

    • @dianebyrum3696
      @dianebyrum3696 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      He has no organizational skills. He is milking cows one minute. He will then go in the kitchen to cook. He depends to much on his children for work.They can help but cannot run a farm. He needs to hire some farm workers. Plenty of people that need work. He needs to eat, starving never is the answer.

    Justin I am a recently retired teacher, and I have so much respect for the way you learn and teach with your children. They are thinkers because you and Rebecca value their opinions. I’m very sorry about your hurting feet especially when you are missing an awesome partner (Jonah). I don’t know if you read every comment so you may miss this one however, years ago I was teaching but I went to a harvest feast and took a hay ride into the village, but on the way out the ride was no longer running. I had to walk only a half mile to my car. That night I stood up from my bed and fell to my knees and I had to crawl to the restroom. I was in agony from the pain in my feet. The next day I went to a local shoe store and it was recommended that I purchase arch supports, not the soft ones. The hard 3/4 hard arch supports. It was like a miracle after a few days I was able to walk pain free. I don’t know if you have tried them but if you haven’t please try them. They may not work but maybe they will help at least until the reactive arthritis gets better. Please forgive my lengthy comments. I wish I could just pick up my phone Anne give you a quick call. God bless you and your beautiful family.

    So sorry to hear about the pain. Tumeric, moringa, bloves, bay leaves are all excellent anti inflammatory. A couple of tablespoons of Good ole Castor oil to clean out the system. As you fast be aware of your emotions, hunger sometimes makes one cranky. observe your sleep patterns, stronger dreams. feel better soon.

    I work security so standing on my feet for 12 hour shifts for the past 8 years my feet have been in pure agony. I’ve just started fasting and only eating once a day and omg I’m completely pain free. I didn’t think it was possible. I eat every meal clean and intentional with my one meal. I wish I knew this earlier I’ve even in the past had Cortisol injections in my feet for the pain. Fasting is so unbelievably amazing.

    fasting is amazing on its health benefits. I have been Intermittent fasting for 2 years now with the occasional 48 hr fasts. I have done it primarily for weight loss and to control calories, but I also had inflammation. the I.F. has helped greatly with both controlling body composition (fat loss) without losing muscle and almost eliminating inflammation. Hope you are successful and feel better soon.

    Please put a pin of some sort in the hay bin that is hanging by a literal thread. Accidents happen all the time, especially with curious kids around. Your manure from over wintering your animals is such a bonus for the land. Find Jonah a card table for his legos, he needs to use his mind while he is sitting and he is very creative with the legos. All your kids are keepers, keep them safe.

    I just wonder if you could make it easier on your body if you streamlined some of your chores. I have always wondered why you don’t have more permanent fencing on your homestead. Some outer perimeter fencing, maybe a few cross fences, lanes wide enough for chicken tractors. At least then you wouldn’t have to use so many electric fences that you have to press into the ground with your poor feet. Somehow I think a combination of permanent fences and electric fences would make chores easier. Just a thought from a farmer in California

    Keeping you all lifted up in prayer and hoping you and anyone in the path of Ian get through without any issues. I had only moved here to Middle Georgia from Fort Myers not but 4 months ago here it will be this coming month on the 4th. I am saddened by the extreme devastation left behind at the place I made home for 12 years of my life. To think had I not moved from down there when I had, to where I am at now, how very different things would more likely be for me right now and I would not be able to be on here viewing this video and leaving this comment. I know many others are not as fortunate. I have many friends and family down there and I am wrecked with the fact that I can't be down there to help any of them should they need it. Those not yet heard from I am hopeful will be okay and just lacking power and the ability to get online or make contact with anyone yet at this point. By now you know what you didn't say in this video which its back at a cat 1 but I believe you all are still in the dark pink meaning the risk for flooding is possible. I sure pray not but anyone out there who might be going through anything from this monster of a storm I feel for yas and will keep all of yas in my thoughts and prayers. Jess those pups are sooo adorable. I was going to say you need a good Aussie Shep on the farm (big grin). Bear seemed interested and surely so did Katie-girl. Love yas, be safe!!!

    Justin. I put up a 5 foot fence for my barn yard. NO chickens or goats escape. I'm 64 years old with full time job and have 13 goats ans 60 chickens. I have worked while having line disease 2 times carpyl tunnel I'm both arms and severe weakness and inflamation in my legs so bad for 4 years I could barely walk. What helped me was eating fresh greens twice a day, orange mango juice daily, digestive plant enzymes to keep toxins out of my system faster and 1 cup of goat milk a day. Stay on stricter diet of 2 big helpings of greens small amount of meat twice a week is ok. Just try it for 2 weeks. I'm almost completely well after 4 years.

    My mum suffered terribly with food allergies when I was a kid. She did 7 days with nothing but water and slowly introduced individual foods. She found she was allergic to salicylates. It’s in tonnes of vegetables. She was also highly reactive to eggs. Discovering that change her life. I hope after your fast that you only introduce one food at a time to really pinpoint what is causing your problems. Good luck x

    Magnesium. Collagen. And if you haven't done multi day fasts before. 1-2 days is a better starting point and 3 max. Especially if you plan on doing life as usual, along side with it. And you'll figure out how those might conflict. Within 2 days of only having liquid. And then you can figure out when your body hits an equilibrium with that. "Calm" makes good magnesium, atleast the plan version without any other vitamins. And "great lakes" makes good collagen.

    I deal with persistent yeast issues, which I largely manage by diet. I notice that if I deviate, it's 1 to 3 days later when I notice. I would guess the trip with Lily when you went off your diet is what caused the pain. (And only you can really decide when a treat is worth the pain. Sometimes I just want some sugar, even though I know I'll have to deal with it afterwards.)
    On the other hand, my father-in-law was having loads of foot pain for a while, and it turned out to be plantar fasciitis.

    Be ready for foul weather from hurricane IAN. Your pain may be from the rapid pressure changes from air travel? I was spared from hurricane force winds, now it's windy and cold here in FL. I gave a shout out to Jonah while cutting tree branches and he did a good job replacing the motorcycle handle bars. Try colgate tooth paste on Sally windshield, keeps fog away.

      @@jessicah7247 Actually, my body was not in "starvation" at all. I have fat that my body was actually able to start using because my insulin finally fell to the point of my body being able to use the stored fat. "starvation phase" is really not a thing when you have the ability to use your stored fat. Converting fat into ketones is what happens. Maybe that would be easier for you to understand.

    It’s wonderful to see Jonah getting up and sitting out in the sun. Good vitamin D for him. Dad, three day fast is all you need to do. Five days are too extreme when you’re already so thin. Also you need to be doing this fasting under the advisement of a doctor… Not just a physical therapist. I know you’re not gonna like me saying that but you can get yourself very sick fasting too extreme!!!!!
    Thank you to all your friends who are coming in and supporting you on the farm while Jonah is down. Jonah good job at keeping up on your homework but please turn on the lamp if you’re reading so you don’t strain your eyes OK!! You’re a cool kid and I don’t want you feeling guilty for being down and not working … this is giving your younger brother a chance to bond his Dad, Who is the baby brother to get down and walk more and find out he can❣️❣️❣️ and that he has feet and hands to play with on the ground and in the dirt and enjoy digging w/ his toy tracker❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

    I did a number of waterfasts to reset my immune system , longest 5 weeks. Works winders, hang in there 1st 5 days are the worst, after that you no longer hungry and healing starts, i worked during, its doable, plus the clarity of mind is always amazing.

    I have been dealing with extreme pain in my feet for a few yrs now. I saw a podiatrist an was diagnosed with posterior tibial tendon dysfunction n given orthotics. They didn't help much but they do a bit. What's really helped with th pain is increasing my b12 intake. And no more barefoot walking . especially on hard surfaces

    Sorry that your pain has returned, Justin. But it is good to know that your fasting seems to be bringing relief. I don't think Jonah was much interested in vlogging his day. Henry is the cutest little guy and it is so hard to believe that he is 18 months old. Seems like just a few months ago I was watching the video of you running Rebekah to the hospital, even though you had to stop along the way for a very special delivery. 😂

    Another thing I ned2 mention. Jonah is down but not out. He is a farm boy, eating all highly nutrient dense foods. It will be seriously interesting to learn how fast & completely natural, he heals.

    In 2015 I did a 1 week vegetable juice fast followed by a 2 week water only fast. I gained a lot of health benefits. When you are very sick your body shuts of hunger pains and refuses food so it can focus on healing instead of digesting food. When you fast you force your body into that "healing mode" and once your are in that state "Ketosis" your body will decide what needs focused healing attention. I can say though the experience during the water fast was very similar to feeling sick with the flu. My energy levels dropped dramatically and although I didn't faint, I often felt "lightheaded". Although it was wonderful that it happens, the Detoxifying was my least favorite part of the experience. I smelled bad because the toxins were coming out of my pores, and worst yet they were coming out of my tongue. Think "dry mouth from hell" and multiply that times 10. I was brushing my tongue every few minutes at one point. Justin says he's fine and not hungry yet. That won't last. Very soon will be intensely craving food for a few days, but after about the first 3 or 4 days he will enter Ketosis and he will not crave food.

    Are you cooling down your food properly and re-heating it properly. Food safety is key. Never put your left overs in the frig with a lid until they reach 41 degrees. Otherwise you are consuming food with bacteria and that can cause arthritis. If you want to know more let me know.

    You might try putting Henry in the Urgo in the front facing out. Maybe he just doesn't like being stuck with his face in your back. Just an idea!

      How would that work for him with the chores? Milking. Hoeing. String trimming. Etc. Henry has intervals of time where his dad takes him out of the Ergo and he runs around. But when Justin needs him on his back that’s where he should be. Better then being home and watching his dad and siblings go out the door without him. Being in the front is great for walks or doing some indoor chores like folding laundry. But not conducive for farm use. I ll bet he would still fuss if he was in the front simply because he probably just doesn’t want to be contained.

Where is his wife why is she not taking care of him is she to lazy That could be the reason for the pain henry may weigh 30 pounds What has happened to Art and Bree he never mentions them anymore has something happened to ART from him being under that house with those dangerous chemicals .

    Hopefully you've checked tendons, muscles, cartilage--also good supportive shoes. Have you seen a podiatrist? I've said it once and I'll say it again, glucosamine fixed my cartilage issues in my feet. I was in a very dark place having had pain for 3 years and every day getting closer to non-ambulatory. Glucosamine every day for one year and the pain stopped. I still take a maintenance dose every day. At almost 60, I have the feet and energy and ability to work/play all day. I don't need any recovery days afterward. I take Now Glucosame with Chondroiton and MSM. You're doing great Josiah and Jonah!

    I believe Winnie is laying in those beds, because the dirt is cool. Did she use to lay close to the house? Now there is a deck? Grant you I wouldn't want her in the beds either, but I guess you need to find her a place to lay that's cool, so she stays out of the area you don't want her in. Then when it's cold you will have to find a place where she isn't too warm but still happy. She's like a malamute I once had loved the cold but still wanted warmth.

    Everyone acting like Lyme is something you can go to a Dr and presto! no more Lyme, chronic pain, or other health issues! I’m sorry you are dealing with so much pain, my mom suffered for over 10 years with Lyme disease (misdiagnosed with Parkinson’s for years first). Unfortunately she passed away last year, I think her body had had enough and just gave up. Keep trying things and fighting for your health, Justin!

    • @Miguel195211
      @Miguel195211 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it is not just going to go away seeing a medical specialist, but these doctors can start to manage this disease so Justin can feel better. What Justin is doing obviously is not working.

    • @MissNatashaMarie

      Unfortunately, in my experience, most drs don’t know how to treat chronic Lyme. It’s a guessing game in the end. I think it’s a bit soon to say that what he’s doing isn’t working. Sounds like he’s had a setback, traveling may have had a hand in that.

    When I had 5 operations on my Ankle and still had problems they sent me to the Foot and Ankle Institute in Philadelphia PA. The recommended New Balance 608 Sneakers. They have excellent support and helped with leg pain I was having also. Magnesium was also recommended. I take 400 mg with Dinner and it's helped tremendously. I have back problems also, with the excellent support the 608 New Balance Sneakers and the Magnesium I haven't been having the foot and legs pain that I had. Might be worth a try. Noticed the sandals you wear don't have any support and not sure about the sneakers. Hope you find relief. Pain is awful. I live with pain daily. Peace from WV

    Your flare might be because of flying and the cabin pressure - it is the same as weather pressure because it makes the space between your joints smaller and so any inflammation is compressed = pain. As someone who lives with arthritis and i have had it most of my life, it is a common misconception that it is an age related ailment but that is so far from the truth. There are children who have it and there are old people who don't. I think probably a combo of flying, standing for long periods of time plus a deviation from your 'normal' diet has created a perfect storm. Arthritis flares are rarely just caused by one thing - it is usually a combination of factors.
