Josiah is such a good kid. Don’t lose sight of his passion once Jonah makes his way back. I think Josiah getting this praise and a place in your limelight has been so important to this giant growth step for him.

All children need time to shine. It’s important. It’s also important to remind them when they’re down after experiencing failure or not winning or placing-that others need their time to shine, too. And they’ll have plenty of opportunities throughout life to shine, again.

100% agree. Jonah is SO capable that I think sometimes Josiah gets lost in the background because he's quiet. But he is a brick! I hope that Justin remembers that and gives him more responsibility even after Jonah gets back on the wagon.

Your sons are taking "ownership" of their property due to their active daily responsibilities. You always hear their suggestions & often try them. Jonah looks eager to resume his normal life on the farm. You & Rebecca make me proud.
    Lovely Family.💕

  • @NanaJan
    @NanaJan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

It seems to me Josiah is the quiet one and he probably has had more thoughts about the farm/animals than you realize, he just verbalized it to you. The quiet ones will stay in their comfort zone of silence when another sibling takes the lead in a family.
If there is anything positive with Jonah's accident it is that Josiah's capabilities and intelligence are shining, very proud of him, Lily as well!
Be mindful of that when Jonah is back at work, you are fortunate to have hard working children.
Hoping Jonah is back feeling healthy again soon!
    Blessings
    Jan

To keep chickens in the coup run and prevent aerial attacks we put 8 foot 2x4’s for posts, plastic water bottles on top of wood and 50x100’ netting over the top and sides. Zip ties to secure it and 16 years later still excellent!

Interesting video with a lot of different stuff going on. Josiah is growing and getting a greater appreciation for the farm. I love the way you are heaping praise on him. It's great to see Jonah coming along in his recovery, gaining more independence. Gideon needs a little more encouragement to step up - perhaps he's feeling a little overshadowed by his big brothers. It was wonderful to hear what he said about his relationship with Henry, shows he is really watching Jonah and Josiah and he wants to have a connection like theirs.

Jonah is such a big part of the farm and homestead, and loved by everyone who watches your channel. I am continuing to pray for him that he heals completely and whole, and can’t wait to see him back out working next to you again. He is such amazing young man and got such a wonderful personality and is very quite, but when he speaks he has wonderful and brilliant ideas of doing things differently that is easier. Josiah is really starting to take interest in the farm since Jonah has been down, and hearing him starting to see more pasture land on the farm, and know it’s there is amazing. I hate how bad your body has been feeling until you started fasting for three days, and start feeling better, it just proved your body does have the power to heal itself. I want to try this and see if my body can start feeling better in my feet from my neuropathy.

Maybe use some cattle panels or other fencing to cover the chicken run. It needs to be tall enough to walk in though. Would protect them from getting out and also keep them safe from audial predators and coyotes that might jump your fence. You could also pull a cover tarp or shade cloth over if needed.

JUSTIN! ‼️‼️ Use Papaya Enzymes for your pain and inflammation., it’s also great for gut health, anti parasitic, deworming etc. Highly recommended! ‼️

Washing the eggs removes the “bloom.” You can’t water glass them and they won’t last as long. Put extra hay in the nesting boxes.

I think Josiah knows a lot but is a very quite deep thinker, whereas Jonah has more confidence to say what he thinks, both boys are great, maybe giving Gideon jobs and stressing how he will be needed to show Henry when he is older will help, Lily is just a great all rounder

It’s the FIRST time for YOU to recognize what he sees because he’s having some ONE on ONE conversations with you. He’s getting a chance to OPEN UP. He may be quiet BUT now that he’s having the opportunity to share his thoughts, YOU’RE able to see what he has been thinking… all along. I Hope, you will continue to ask his opinion even when Jonah comes back.😊

Oh man. Too funny!! My kids have to step up today when I got called into work. They are dreading the cold and dressed about the same. So funny.

The alfalfa meal could be used as a soil ammendment on the gardens.

I love that you take the kids with you to do chores, BUT you should really consider leaving Henry in right now. You are down a man, and your feet are hurting. Your still doing the majority of the outside chores and cleanup, a lot of cooking, and recording for all social media. I think Rebecca can keep Henry with her during this time so you can be more productive, move more quickly, and have less weight on your feet.....especially while you don't have Jonah. Just my unsolicited two cents.

Maybe mix in the alfalfa with some kind of liquid so it doesn't go everywhere. Or even use it for other animals. Anything to not waste it

If you add a little vinegar (or lemon juice) to either the water soak or the brine process it will tenderize the meat.

Absolutely right that if you want to go into a multi day fast, eat low carb going into it, it's easier because your body is more prepped to burn fat (instead of carbs) as its energy source. Didnt realize you listened to peter attia.
